Other versions of Rolandskvadet put it at the very start of the song, as a rallying cry for Roland, however these guys do the horn brilliantly 3 times, the first after the first stanza, representing the idea that the ambush has just begun with the stanza and chorus beforehand sounding almost like a song Roland's men wouldve sung on their way through the Pyrenees. (If they knew Norwegian that is lol) the second after the first half of the song as the Pyrenees becomes covered in a "mist of manblood" and Roland is winning, the horn almost sounding triumphant in the choir, however the final time is the most potent as now, Roland is losing, the Basque overwhelm him so the choir strain themselves with the horn, which is shown in the original song with Roland "blowing so hard he blew his temples out/eyes out.", the section coming right after the frantic third horn. The last chorus is almost ad memoriam, a hushed funeral choir singing of the late, great Roland.
