One thing I find sad about this mod is how M took Boyfriends heart in two ways 1. Metaphorical: taking the one thing boyfriend loves and cares about: girlfriend. 2. Literally by impaling him.
I like that part a lot, it sounds very melancholy, BF vocals are at a level of deep sadness, and also Ultra Mario looking at the two of them every time someone sings is intimidating.
i find it so intresting that bf is somewhat able to stand his ground facing off his *DEAD* gf, someone he loved greatly, a whole lot of people would crumble under the pressure and sadness of such a great loss but he keeps going and going only for it to all break apart in the end unable to win
yeah i think that’s what M was trying to do to him by making him face his mutilated gf. bf continues to try and will his way through it and just keeps on going, even while being tormented in a completely unwinnable fight. and the music, the way it’s composed is just so melancholy and beautifully hopeless and they just keep going. i can’t completely explain it, but that shit brings a tear to my eye.
This act is literally my most favorite since it's the drop with the feeling that there truly is no hope and BF for the very first time has felt true fear, knowing that he's all alone with GF being killed (or, having her soul taken) and Ultra M simply watching and puppeteering GF's lifeless corpse. Ultra M singing to "take the step" most likely means he's telling BF to just give up since to him, there's no use in fighting him anymore
"this part carried the song" the only act that isn't actually as good as the others is act 1, but EVERYONE HAS THEIR OPINIONS, AND SOME MAY BE SHIT BUT IT ISN'T OUR OPINION
because those are the only ones you don't expect to see in any mod, and because the voice even though it is mostly no words and just sound it hears and feels so good to the ears and the brain.
