Well history is actually filled with people who faked death for various reasons. Some did it because they wanted to surprise their lover with a marriage proposal. Some like did it to be undercover spy and help English army against German army at the time of world war 2. And some like John Darwin did it as an insurance scam because they wanted the insurance premium amount, whereas some did it because they simply wanted to know whether they are loved or not!
