Love this video so much - it is touching and a bit hilarious at the same time - thanks for sharing it . Love the bit when one of the holiday makers walking along happily and then appears to have trodden in something - classic comedy!
I recall spending a week in Saltcoats in 1980 during the Glasgow Fair. They used to have fairground & amusement rides next to where the Aldi & Iceland supermarkets are now situated and there was a mini rollercoaster ride thing with 2 orange riding cabs on Montgomerie Crescent. We often used to spend the odd day every summer in Saltcoats or Ayr. Thanks for sharing the video.
Frightening seeing people in the clyde. There was no sewage works in 1980 and even as late as the late 80s you would see human shite floating in the water. It’s far cleaner nowadays
