Ugandan food is mainly "matoke with groundnut source. However, because they mix with Nigerians and West Africa, their foods are looking similar to our. I know what l am saying and Ugandans themselves know this.

What is the difference between food in various of african country? Can african people identify them?
In my mind they are all the same:
Some starch paste. Called fufu, or nshima,or banku. Always made by corn, cassava, plantain and yam. They are the same in my mind because all of them looks like paste.
Some sauce paste. Made by onion, chill and some palm fruit. Nobody can tell the difference of them.
Some vegetable paste. All vegetable are pounded to be paste. Nobody can tell their name because they are all paste.
Various of meat and fish and crab and snail, boiled in a pot. Because most of people only have one pot in their family.

I understand you well....we also have the same question when it comes to foods outside African....
But we have foods tht belong to specific tribes or countries and we can easily identify those foods....
Even the way we cook our foods are different according to the culture or countries....
In Uganda we don't have Fufu......but e have posho which is close to FUFU from west Africa..and alot more.....
