    Wow, great stuff. The combination of the Sonoff and the Node-RED flows is really powerful. Thanks for putting this together. A Getting Started with Node-RED video would be cool!

      Yeah its pretty darn nice tool. Its easy to combine with OpenHab or Domoticz as well if anyone wants to

    Thanks for this! This sonnoff is exactly what I need for automating my house. Never heard of it but its so damn cheap compared to anything else I have seen so far!

      Its a very simple yet effective device. The fact that its not overpriced too. The interesting part is that you can build devices like this your self for just a couple of bucks with all kind of functions.

    Many thanks for all you posts, they are incredible useful, however I need to say you are going to fast and probable a huge amount of people can't follow you instructions because simply they don't know what you are talking about, too munch concepts, and after all it not easy to really see what is all about. But again many thanks to share all the thougts that comes from this brilliant mind.

    I think things may have moved on since this was made. I've setup my Node-Red pretty much like for like, but i'm having issues with the change node (to payload to payload.Power giving an undefined messsage) and then the influxdb side.

  • @sevilnatas
    @sevilnatas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the inFluxDB cost money? Also what is emon? And this ISO you keep mentioning, what is that?

    • @DIYTechRepairs
      @DIYTechRepairs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Influx is free. Emon is a tool for power useage and more information about the Raspberry PI ISO can be found in the description of the video

    Wait a sec. How did it know which wifi network to connect after you did flash it? Does this firmware use a static ssid/password in the firmware itself (in source code or ini file), when you compile and upload it?

      @DIYTechRepairs 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its saved in mem yes but i have set it via its built in webserver och once

      @@DIYTechRepairs Ah. Thank you. I find you channel extremely interesting. I am a lot into power management, monitoring and control, so your videos helps a lot. (I am more of a software engineer, not electronic engineer, but I know this and that).

    Can you use raspberry ok in conjunction with my old tablet Motorola Xoom 2?

    • @DIYTechRepairs
      @DIYTechRepairs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not sure in what sense you want to use them together? If your Motorola can surf webpages then you can of course surf a raspberry serving that data.

    yes in enjoyed your video, but i have not the slightest idea what you were doing or what it is for

    • @DIYTechRepairs
      @DIYTechRepairs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      :) You can controll stuff in your house remotely. Like press a button on your phone to turn of and on a light. It also measures the electricity used for that appliance.

      He controls the sonoff by sending it commands ON and OFF by placing messages on the MQTT queue system. the sonoff was updated with ability to do more than it originally could, probably to read MQTT data (never used one). the Nodered flows are rules which you can control what to do when events occur.
      I'm minutes from going to work so had to skip through the video so may be inaccurate.

    Thanks for the video, Just trying it now but the code will not copy to your v6 image of NodeRed. inport is grayed out when copying and pasting has per your website. diytechandrepairs.nu/sonoff-pow-setup-grafanaraspberry-image/

    • @DIYTechRepairs
      @DIYTechRepairs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Not sure why it would be greyed out? Do you have a flow added? It can also be that you are missing componentes in Nodered for this task. Ping me on message or on FB and il help you.

      Thanks, i have seemed to recreate it and then got the hang of how nodered works plus added both "power" and "daily total" being sent to emon. Be interesting if anyone else had the same prob. Thanks for doing the video and work on the image, I have got 4 Sonoff units now and have 2 Pow connected up and running well.

    • @DIYTechRepairs
      @DIYTechRepairs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool M8. Yeah those units are small nifty ones. I have several other here too now and several touch switches. Im adding them up to my current home automatisation system :)
