So,
Thranduil's battle exp> elrond's exp
I think
Actually Thranduil's father, Oropher, had fought in the Battle of the First Alliance.
And in The Hobbit (the book) he actually never fought in the war.. neither did Bilbo and Gandalf.
So, actually, Elrond has more experience and he wins, having fought in the War of the Last Alliance as Gil-Galad's herald, and long before he and his brother would be raised by Maedhros and Maglor, gaining a lot of knowledge.
@@Ili_xx1933 I mean In the Hobbit ....he was protecting the human settlements any was slaughtering orcs (movies)
@@adityaabhishek7805 yeah, but still Elrond is more powerful and experienced.
Not entirely. During the fall of eragion and the war between elves and Sauron, and the last alliance, Elrond was at all of these battles and the second in command to the high king of the Noldor.
Elrond is. Noldor elf unlike Thranduil who is either Sindarin, or Silvin elf. (I forget at Times) either way, the Noldor are some of the strongest elves, having seen the light of the Amon, and the trees of valenor they are stronger, faster, wiser, and better armed and equipped then those of their kin who never left middle earth. It’s even stated during the marching of the armies of the last alliance that the elves that joined them from Greenwood, and Lothlorian were strong but had armor and weapons of inferior quality.
So in the end I would say Elrond based on the fact that he is a Noldor elf, and has just as much if not more experience would win 8/10.

Both are close, but I say tharanduil cause he is older and probably a little more experienced. Depends how you would factor in Elrond ring
Yes and no. While he is older then Elrond he is not wiser. Nor is he as strong. For Elrond is Noldor, and as the blood of a Myar (a demi god) running through him. Elrond is a better swordsmen, commander, and has better equipment. Elrond also had just as much if not more experience because he was second in command to Gil-galad in the war of the Elves vs Sauron, and the last alliance. Elrond is more powerful then Thranduil in every way.
However this isn’t saying Thranduil is weak. He is very strong and powerful and would hand almost anyone their ass in a fight. But again he is not one of the Noldor, nor a holder of a ring of power. You may forget Galadriel, Elrond, and Formally Criadan held the three rings. Elrond got his from Gil-galad when he died, Ciradan gave Gandalf his ring in I think year 1,000 of the third age I’m not sure if I recall that correctly. Thranduil for all his wisdom is still an elf who has never seen the light of Valinor thus according to the Lore, lesser than those that have, Elrond is descended from the three royal houses of the Eldar, the royal houses of the Edain and Melian the Maiar. His line is said to be so sacrosanct that it will never fail while middle earth remain. he is also a wielder of a ring of power, something that would never be given to Thranduil.
Forgive my ignorance, please. I thought that the older elves had seen the 3 trees and because of that, the shine literally stays in their eyes. I thought Thranduil had seen them because of his brilliant eye shine? Again, please forgive my ignorance.
@gabrielwatson7721 Not all elven saw the trees, (by the way, they were only 2, one of golden light and one os silver light). They might lived while they lighted the sky but no all of them saw them first hand even if they were born in Valinor and noelven born on Middle Earth after the big travel ever watched them.
The moroquendy mostly, were a faction of the elves that started their travel to Valinor but for one or another reason never arrived to the eternal lands so they never saw the trees, the only exception was Thingol, king of Doriath and leader of the telmary, the biggest faction of the elves and the one that stayed on Middle Earth.
Nor Elrond nor Thranduil ever knew the trees. Thranduil watched their light but stayed at Middle Earth. Elrond was born after the demmise of the trees in a world with the sun and the moon so he never knew it.
I don’t agree with experience because one Thranduil is older by a at least a thousand years if not more and he has also lived through and possibly thought more wars and battles than Lord Elrond.
Thranduil my Lord 💚🌲🧝🏻♂️
Folks, Thranduil is a Sindarin Elf. Sure, he’s strong and mighty but he doesn’t hold a candle to Elrond in terms of Power (that defuse form
of magic in the legendarium). Elrond’s heritage is literally the 3 Houses of the Valinorean elves and the Maiar. He has a ring of power and his dad is friggin Earendil. Funfact. In the dead marshes when frodo falls into the water after seeing a dead elf, that is thranduil’s father oropher, he was slain in the advance into mordor in the FA.
This is a reason why thranduil never wanted to sacrifice his people, when his father died so did most of his elven soldiers. It obviously had a impact on thranduil heavily.

A friend of mine had an fanfic idea about Thranduil's title of being the 'Elvenking'.
He said that it was Lord Elrond of Rivendell that crowned/coronated Thranduil after the death of Gil-Gallad the last Highking of the Elves.
And was witnessed by Lord Cirdan and Durin IV of Khazad-dum.
Isildur wasn't there since he left with the Ring of Power. Lord Elrond knew that Thranduil and Isildur were good friends. That is why he decided to convince the other Lords of giving Thranduil the title of 'Elvenking'.
Leading to the 'Angmar Conspiracy'
involving Thranduil's wife (possibly an Avari Elf) and the Witch King's burial that requires a 'Powerful Spell/Curse'.

Elrond takes it mid difficulty. Elrond has Maiar blood and has a ring of power.
Me who unironically crushed on Elrond when i was a teenager:
FOR ME IS THRANDUIL EVEN IF I LIKE ELROND TOO I WILL ALWAYS PREFER THRANDUIL
We don't know many things about Thranduil and I am sure even Tolkien didn't make full story about Thranduil. Remember the elves without rings of power who are much stronger than 3 elven ring bearers. I can name several God-like-powerful elves Feanor, Fingolfin Glorfindel, Thingol, Luthien and so on. I mean elves especially high elves and the ones in throne already bear the elven magic and powers so does Thranduil. It was also mentioned in the book about Thranduil's magic cells. He was not fully explained about his powers. If we take into consideration that he is high Sindarin elf, king, can cast spell on doors and hide his scar, can sense invisible creatures then he definitely has powerful magic and feats. He is just not given enough credits to know more about him. I think he must have his own movie and directors need to create more than the book explained as there's no much info about Thranduil. But I see him as one of the most powerful elves in Middle Earth.

Idk about that Elrond just didn’t have to face half as much trauma and tragedy as thraundiul nobody can really blame thraunduil for his actions after everything he’s been through he was really just looking out for his people
No. Elrond was the #2 guy on two separate war campaigns. He’s arguably the strongest being in Middle earth in the third age, a toss up between him and Galadriel.
On top of that. He has NEVER had a territory that he has settled down in ever be over run with evil.
Thranduil would smack Elrond around. He fought in the War of Wrath against Balrogs, Dragons and Shades who he killed and was one of the few Survivors of the Sinking of Beleriand. Elrond is good but not THAT good
Nope Qwenia didn’t fight that war . The dragon that burn his face did it in the 3rd age. After fall of Beleriand .
Thranduil never took place in such battle as Last Alliance fight. He was boosted by Peter Jackson movie but in the books they were isolated group of savages who rarely leaves Mirkwood .

Elrond is a full elf - he literally chooses to be elf AND he has a Noldorin and Maiar heritage. He is basically the last great lord of the Elves on middle earth. Thranduil cannot win.
Elrond is pretty OP tbh now that I think about ìt
Elrond came from an impressive lineage & at same Thranduil learn a lot from Thingol, Elrond’s great great grandfather in Doriath & Celeborn, Thingol’s grand nephew. Each molded in their own skills before ruling a realm of their own.
I always liked elrond better
how dose Elrond have more knowledge than him ?
When your folks lived at the dawn of creation, soaking up magic god rays from the magic trees, and your dad is the fantasy equivalent of the silver surfer, and some of your relatives are literal angels and demigods…then yeah you have more Power over the forces of creation than some old forest elf.
Elrond has a ring of power and he is a high elf of Noldor. Thranduil is a mid level elf of sindar. This is not a competition at all lol Elrond is leagues above Thranduil even thought they both faught together in the last Alliance against Sauron. Thranduil did destroy fire serpents of Morgoth hence the scars on his face to show the damage he inflicted against Morgoth and his fire serpents.

Well, assuming that my favorite is Elrond, it is still undeniable that Thranduil is great. But Elerondo is still the best. Thranduil may be older and have more physical wounds but he doesn't have the trauma of being abandoned by all his parents, losing his twin and having his bloodline fall into darkness, as Elrond does. Also, my El is a great scholar, linguist, diplomat and tactician. He has learned to serve and to lead, to hurt and to heal. He is the best healer and an outstanding warrior. He had a Feanorian education and therefore was introduced to all disciplines. He would have swept away even without his blood Maiar and his ability to ally with, practically, everyone given his kinship. I admit though that Thranduil isn't doing badly either. Born in the First Era, he survived it all and kept the trust his people had placed in him. Unlike him, his father didn't let himself be influenced by the past so much as to lose the ability to see what was best for his kingdom than him (he wasn't in bad shape like Oropher, let's say).
