- After a violent clash between the people of Lamhainamdi village and Kiyevi village on November 7, Western Sumi Hoho on November 8 clearly denied the claims made by the Zeliang heads from Lamhainamdi village that the Western Sumis are actually trying to encroach the Lamhainamdi village. WSH President Shikaho Zhimomi along with General Secretary H. Kisheto Chishi claimed that the area rightfully belongs to them where the Zeliangrong have settled down. WSH also claimed that in 2019 the government had already issued two eviction letters to the village which the village did not oblige. While highlighting the eviction letter by the government, WHS stated that Lamhainamdi is not a legal village. WSH further clarified that the incident occurred during a peaceful and unarmed protest by the Sumi youth and that it was the Indian Reserve Battalion jawans and some youth from the village who started the firing as the situation escalated to a violent clash

If both parties are allowed to interpret their history without a mediator then this issue will keep burning as the fuel won't run out.
