- In 2018, we set off on a trip north to Good News Bay, Alaska. The goal: spend a few weeks with the guides before the season kicked off to tell their story. The people that operate this lodge were some of the most unique characters we have ever met. We instantly built a bond with this diverse crew, and we couldn't be more excited to share this story.
Stories like this are a great reminder that fly fishing is more than just catching fish. Good News River Lodge is an amazing destination, and we highly recommend it. With all 5 species of Pacific Salmon right in your backyard coupled with epic rainbow and grayling fishing at your fingertips, it's hard to beat.

That first comment from the owner is so true! Been here in Alaska the past Forty years guiding, in the Alaskan visitor industry and seen many guides from out of state with no customer service skills! Most worked on commercial boats up here or were college aged ones first time here to Alaska, totally clueless! I have told people thinking about a remote wilderness lodge visit to Alaska, make sure they are a local family owned, not some Washington, Oregon based company. Simple!
