Theory 2: The nations have the overall personality of the majority of it's population who have a similar personality. So, the darker the ideals and personality of the majority of the population, the darker that nation's personality. Which one fits better?

I love making videos but the only reason I haven't made more is because my old computer deleted the program I was making them on. and the updated version is too confusing. and the new computer doesn't have it on it anywhere. The show is the light side. It introduces what the countries probably want people to see them as. But I think the fans are supposed to think about what it really means to be a personified country, what it really means to experience war and hate; thus, the dark side. But yes, like you, I find the things in the fandom like this to be more realistic.
You know, when I was little(maybe 6 or 7), my dad turned the radio up really loud when this song came on, and it didn't scare me so badly, that is until the part where actually sounded like a monster. I was terrified! I was kinda traumatized by my parents music as a kid...
I can think of so many fitting situations in Hetalia... England - Pirate Spain - Conquistador France - Napoleon Prussia, Germany, Japan - WWs ;~; IT'S SO SAAAD! DX

I dont think the show would be the same if it was all dark compared to how it is now. The show is full of sterotypes and jokes to one teach us the history but also make us laugh or cry, like the difference between the puns the narrutor says and the time America is going through his storage and remembering his past, but thats my personal opinion
