Girl same! Its not weird. This was our first year milking and I made it an idol too. Very thankful for the break lol ours are about to calve again any day now. Thank you for your videos we used your method when we dried them off in Aug.
Thanks for showing this. I have only dried off a cow one time and it didn’t go well. I have to dry off again and I was feeing nervous. This was very helpful.
What a sweet cow! That didn’t look fun at all. In the US we pronounce the devices can(you)las but regardless of pronunciation, this is SO helpful and thank you!
Oooh I loved this video. I need to dry off a cow and the part about a “golden calf” I completely understand this and we all should be careful not to put anything above God. ❤ Thank you!
My dad's first cow was a Brown Swiss. She raised four calves every year plus three small children. (Good times) I agree about nursing mothers grabbing their breasts! I have had mastitis once. I have never had to treat a cow with mastitis, but I always wondered why the cow wouldn't kick anyone's head off! 15 mils??? That looks like a lot! Still holding my breath! LOL. You are very proficient,
I’m so curious… so many people have told me goats are so much harder. Parasites, other health issues, keeping them in fences… why do you think they are easier? Would love it if you made a video all about dairy goats!
I totally get it. I recently gave up knitting. It was no longer a craft anymore. It was an idol. I totally understand.
It's such a freeing thing to let go, isn't it?
I remember doing that for my cow, can't wait to see their calves, hope they both have heifers.
Very informative Kate, thanks for that 👍🏼
I can't wait either!!

Oh that's so cool to hear!
They are called Can' - you - la

I'm so glad I could help you. Thank you for sharing.
I appreciate your sharing your testimony and being honest. I don’t have milk and I can relate to this.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I could be pronouncing it wrong!
Thank you for this video! Currently dealing with a dry -off period for the first time. This is so helpful!
I had a goat once with mastitis and had to infuse meds into her teats, I thought she would hate it but she didn't care.
Yes, isn't it interesting that would seem so uncomfortable/painful is not for the goat!! I guess we just think how we would feel?
I have always heard its harder on a cow to create milk for months on end ,than it is to create a calf. Just what I've heard.
That's interesting. Would love to know if it's true.
15:17 "...udderwise" ... tadum --- dsshshhh

I sure wish you would write a book. Please consider the idea.
Thank you for saying that!
Great demonstration. Thanks

Excellent information! Thanks so much.
You are most welcome
They are CAN' u las. 🙃
Do you dry up your goats the same way and with cleargel
Have you ever cultured Jessa for Kleb again or she just hasn’t presented symptoms since treatment?

Goats are easier to milk (faster) but WAY HARDER to keep healthy in my opinion!
It’s pronounced “can ula” from a nurse ☺️ or maybe it’s just a cultural variation in pronunciation!
I am not sure anymore now, but I'm sure you are right.
I don't know about the idol part, but it could have been a pride issue. Either way, do what works in the big picture for your family.
