I am a full-time carer for my wife, don't go out, but...what I do treat myself to, and save every spare penny, goes towards my 2 holidays a year in May & October as a Solo traveller & to keep us sane after nearly 40 years of marriage. I have been to my favourite place, Son Bou, for years...as I absolutely love it, my personal favourite as it is a home from home. Son Bou has the longest beach in Menorca & some fantastic hotels, amazing restaurants & an incredible, laid back atmosphere but at the same time it really is a buzzing resort with great links, close to the airport. No trip through the famous Son Bou Arch would be complete without visiting the best bar in Menorca, the Kit Cat Bar. Amazing staff & food, quizzes, cocktail nights etc etc...
Son Bou has 3 supermarkets, cannot count the amount of restaurants & not one with a poor reputation, has 3 beach bars with incredible sunsets as well as lovely food,
Car Hire, Motability shop, cycle hire, bakery, chemist, sports bars, clothes shops, car hire, sports bars, souvenir shops.......the list does go on but there is no way Santo Tomas is more touristy than Son Bou, as you simply cannot compare. Santo Tomas is lovely, stayed there too, but it is very quiet.
Son Bou for me (and I have stayed in cala forcat, santo tomas, fornells,Son Parc, Cala en Blanes, Cala n Porter & Arenal den Castell), I return year after year to Son Bou.
Perfect resort, short transfer, brilliant hotels & all of the above.
Trust me & you will thank me later 😎

was there in 2017. partook in this cool festival where the main public figures dance around on horses (sometimes on 2 legs) and those willing go under the horses and tough the horses belly.
wild night driving through police checkpoints with alcohol in hand.

I’ve been to Son Bou twice and Arenal den Castell once. Arenal den Castell was better (due to the hotel which I spend about 90% of my holidays in.

i went to santo tomas in 2009, stayed at the victoria, there's nothing there, nothing to do, it's fine if all you want to do is lounge by the pool all day, which was fine for me at the time because my work life was hard and during my 2 weeks holiday per year, i just wanted to slob about for 14 days and get a tan

Hi! I am just wondering which area you would recommend in Menorca for 2 adults who have limited mobility for a beach holiday?

    i can't stand kids
[or parents who are addicts who can't stand to be with their kids and don't care if their kids are screaming and running amok]
i wish there was a childfree island to go to :(
