- Today, Monday 1 July 2024 marks 1 year to the 4-bin system in Merri-bek, last year, on Monday 3rd July 2023, which was the first day of the Glass Collections, I recall heading down to this same area, and arriving at 7am to hardly any glass bins, which were all emptied by the time I got down, and I left rather disappointed.
Today was a different story, I started at 5am in Area 3, then did a bit in Area 4, and finished off in Area 1. Saw 6 trucks, filmed 4. Area 1 is right on the border of the Citywide & Council Zones, and you can tell how the streets are more open up this end of the Citywide zone, and less bins blocked by cars. Personally I hate this area, not used to the long wide open streets haha, I finished up with this short 3min video, There wasn’t a lot of bins out, and I was trying to pick spots that had a few bins in a row so I could get some decent footage, I got bored after a while and went to film Daniel in #11487.
Thanks To Liam as always, more glass footage is set to come as I know you all enjoy it!
You should do a bin update again this year😊

The council will probably wait till they legally have to
Fair enough, they haven’t said anything about it.

@@GarboFan2024 youll probably know this but all Victorian councils have to have a glass bin by 2030 im pretty sure.
Great Video Dave, Does Merri Bek have a full time Glass driver or do they just have Liam filling in?
