This is beautiful!! I want them all. I am drawn to their little faces that always appear to have a little smile. And the colors! 😍 Stunning fish all around. Thank you so much
Thank you for posting video of these gorgeous fish. So many different colors! I've had 4 golden for about a year and just purchased 4 clown(yesterday). I completely love my killi's. They are not only beautiful but also entertaining! So glad I purchased the ones I have and wish I had room to get more!
Your most welcome Tracy S, and thank YOU for taking the time to comment!! We def need to look into getting some more Killifish in the fish room. Very underrated aquarium fish:)
Thank you buddy, really appreciate your comment! I’ll redo this video when we can double the number of species we covered in this one! Again thanks for taking the time 👍👍
Such an amazing array or fish to choose from... the only trouble is, in the UK, you would be lucky to see maybe 5 of the choices shown... and that would be on an extremely sporadic basis...
Thats true Paul, I think though the eggs travel very well from what I understand so finding people in other countries willing to ship isn't as hard as it used to be! But finding adults is a chore, which is strange as Killifish are one of the more easy fish to breed at home in a lot of cases!
Absolutely stunning killifish!😍 in all my years there are so many fish o have not tried to keep…I need to change this! The. Number 2 Argentine pearl killi ❤ thank you Marcus and Anne Marie🙂 💯% loved this!!
Thanks for your thoughts on our video Jeff :) Aren't they all simply amazing, like you we def need to get into some Killifish, for some reason we just keep completely forgetting about Killifish, which is a shame because they are epic and pretty easy to breed!
A fish that a lot of people could consider in this current climate and get all the colours and beauty at the same time due to the fact they can handle lower temps, some great fish there guys
@@Aquadiction I love the different colors, I'd like to get some but I have the danio's (zebra & Leopard) can they go together ? do you sell them ? if so for how much a pair ? are you in the states?
@@raisinggoldfishonabudget7058 no we are in the uk dude, and don’t really sell much to be honest, the odd endler here and there! It’s actually illegal to sell any fish in the uk without a pet shop license even if you breed it yourself! Probably get arrested for the odd endler we do sell lol

I live in Las Vegas and have a 1000-gallon pond in my yard. I went to a nursery that sells plants for ponds and a decent sized tub with plants was also teaming with Blue Tail Killifish. They didnt know how the fish got there but suspected the plants had eggs already attached. Thery were nice enough to scope out 25 of these fish and give them to me at no charge! They are thriving in my pond and even hatching fry which is pretty exciting! My question to you or anyone out there is: Will my Killifish survive the cold Las Vegas winter? the temps in LV during Dec-Feb can get as low as 50 degrees and 36 degrees over night. I would hate to lose these little guys as I have become somewhat attached to them!
Do you know the scientific name of the blue tail killifish? Just thinking a lot of common names mix up a lot of fish so would be helpful buddy before we can give any sort of advice? ❤️
I wish the website included listings that distinguish between annual and non-annual Killifish. It would also be helpful to group them by region or continent to make research easier.
@Aquadiction Thank you. The information your website provided was very helpful in creating and caring for my South american biotype aquariums. Keeping South american killifish is next on my list.
@ajorieb4592 we really appreciate the support and happy to hear it’s been useful to you! In a couple of months we are coming back to the site to build a lot more features and improvements so will definitely get it in there bud! Your project definitely sounds very exciting, killifish are completely underrated! Having a bit of an obsession with pencil fish currently but killifish might be next!!
We have only tried clown killifish with guppies but imo most types should be fine as any aggressive tendencies are directed at their own species not other fish, they would probably not be a good idea with guppy fry though as they tend to have large mouths, hope that helps
Apparently, you can with some if they are from the same genus. Still, it is VERY frowned upon, so don't post about it in any forum or Facebook group unless you want mad anger lol. Over the years, I've seen a few people post about it on forums. Some of them would need therapy after the replies, lol! I think testing these things out is fine as long as any young sold or given away are marked up as hybrids and not pure strains. It could be very interesting! We will be trying a crossbreed with our Pseudomugil rainbowfish ourselves just to see what pops out :)
@@Aquadiction never knew anything about killifish ot it's community tbh, why people don't go towards crossbreeding? It's like the direct opposite of the guppy/endler community
Most will be fine with guppies TBH, id worry more about the guppies attacking the killifish, they will most likely eat guppy fry though, hope that helps bud! Killifish are very misunderstood, probably due to the name kill lol :)
@@LMat_MX Thanks for sharing your experience will def help some people! Yea absolutely, its normally best to avoid ones that look very similar as the males may spare but not really more than most male fish from a vast array of species TBH , in our experience and opinion anyway
I don't think they're under-rated fish, they're beautiful but i think people like them but not buying them because of their short lifespans and pricy at the same time. But they worth every penny.
Hey, how do you mean? In our experience they are only aggressive to their own (male vs male) but that's the same as most fish if you keep 2 few together to be honest! If your starting out with Killifish you may want to start it clown (also called rocket) killifish, very hardy and a lot more tolerant of other rocket killifish but you really either want to go for a pair or as many as possible! We recently got a hold of some critical en-danged Bandula barbs and the dominate female wiped out most of them, like people i guess, you can get some real nasty fish sometimes :(. We also have Leporinus with guppies which SHOULDNT work but does, best of luck whatever you decide bud!
Thanks for the feedback I’ll def have a look at that (unfortunately we can’t edit the video once posted but can edit our website when we add that species 👍
Thanks for the comment/questions. Some are Annual Killifish with a very short lifespan, but many others can live for 2-4 years.
