What a classy, warm, intelligent man was Doc, (entirely apart from his incredible musical skills) . He had a well-lived life. He was a good 'un. Someone to emulate in many ways. RIP The video form 1965 is a little out of tune, but interesting nonetheless.
It's about a young lady who hears that her true love, Georgie, is in prison. She rides on horseback overnight, in the rain, to find that he is sentenced to death for stealing 16 horses from the King. All her pleas, not to mention a bunch of money to the lawyers, avail her nothing. Georgie does see her, though, in the crowd as he is being led to the scaffold the next day. The song cuts off, sadly, and I think there might be another verse or two to the song in its complete version.
It's "Geordie", a song many have done, but he's changed up the lyrics quite a bit from the other versions I've heard. That's all I know - check out Joan Baez's version
That was certainly planned, it was meant to be an appetizer for the interview. This is done all the time in interviews. But it would have been nice to hear Doc keep going.
He play with only Two fingers with the right hand! Doc was Amazing! Doc IS Amazing. he lives through his music.
"A person who cant feel the music he plays, I always thought, cant really play it"
its all in the feel...
When only the best will do.

That is the full interview.
I hate the presenter... why did he stop Doc at the beginning? it's the only video we can see Doc play this song.

Time constraints. It was a 5 minute slot for tv local evening news.
The interviewer was known to have relations with other men on the side.
