    Omg I’m so jealous! Nothing beats fresh seafood in PH. I have an ocean front property and some fishermen dock their boat in front so I can’t wait to be able to buy their fresh catch in the am when I retire back home.

Good catch, good eating and a GREAT video. Thank you for posting this, we will have to hit the sub button and continue to follow your adventures.

      @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've heard in santa fe a boat may rent for about 600 to 1200 pesos per day, however you would need to find one that knows where the fish are and no one that I know of here knows how to fish with a rod and reel, they all use fish traps, longline, and nets. If you checkout Facebook "Cebu Fishing Buddies", they go out around Cebu city and do jigging.

Wallahhhh..very nice fish stew. You can also add some vegetables there like Malunggay (Moringa/Horseradish) or cabbage, very goodddd..

    • @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
      @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Santa fe is the main tourist town and that is where the ferry from Cebu arrives, it offers mostly mom and pop beach resorts, dining and hanging out at the beach. Bantayan town is just about 10 minutes north of Santa fe via motorcycle (rental for about 250 to 300 pesos per day) and it is mostly local shopping not much tourism there. Madridejos is at the north tip of Bantayan island about 25 minutes from Santa fe via motorcycle and has Kota Park with an old fort and beach area. Island hopping trips are available from Santa fe (see my video for contact info for Leon Island Tours). Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them😊

      @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrTudygecko Santa fe is the main tourist destination and rooms probably start around 800 pesos per night however they are not air conditioned. If you want air conditioning then the prices start around 1200 pesos per night. If the have wi-fi it may not be reliable in your room and may also be slow. The high end resorts (these are all Mom and Pop resorts) may be around 3000 pesos per night and higher, you have a better chance of getting good wi-fi there however no guarantees.

    Someone correct me if Im wrong...I thought you were not supposed to eat the Parrot fish because they help keep the coral reefs clean

    • @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030
      @myparadiseonbantayanisland9030  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually almost every reef fish keeps the reef clean, the parrot fish actually destroys the coral by crushing the coral with its teeth and eating the living organism that builds the coral, them it poops out the white coral dust as white beach sand. So really it makes white sand beaches😀. There are many misconceptions about the ocean and the fish that live in it. All fish are an important component of our oceans health and we as humans need to responsibility manage our oceans.

      I do not understand why people think that everyone in the Philippines wants sympathy, I'm here to tell you "THEY DON'T WANT SYMPATHY" they do appreciate respect and they do have pride in their work, their boat, their family and themselves and they "DO NOT WANT HANDOUTS" they set the price for their fish and everyone paid that price. I reviewed the video and did not hear anyone in this video ask for a discount. Please do not try to give them the "welfare sympathy mentality" that they cannot take care of themselves and their families, they have been happily doing it all their lives.😊

    Only $2.00 American dollars, how cheap. It was hard for them to catch those fishes, You could have given them at least 200 pesos for all the fishes he gave you. Napaka barat mo namang Americano, you should support local fishermen, don't be so cheap man.

      I would have paid a little more myself, but maybe the money that he saved he spent paying someone else to cook it...

      Yhe fishermen have doubled their price in the past year so they are making it hard on their own countrymen to pay for food. Feel sorry for the people that pay double when their pay has not changed in 5 years.

      @@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 I checked on it and yes you are right. Seems to be implemented on a city by city basis until the national government puts out a blanket ban on fishing the species. Parrotfish are becoming endangered in the Philippines. Sad since they are the janitors of the coral reefs of the PH.

      @@jedidazed3390 the fuck are you saying that parrotfish are janitors of the coral reefs? parrot fish should be hunted down because they are literally eating the coral reefs not the other way around you moron. They eat algae sticking on the coral so inorder to get them they pulverize the corals. Go research you dumbfuck!
