We own a 1456 and I have to agree with you, they are a great work horse. A few years back we took the differential out of ours so we bought a 1976 1086. Not one of my better decisions. Nothing but a money pit! We have several guys wanting to buy the 1456 but this is one that w9ill not be leaving our place.
I had a Black Stripe 966, I was the second owner. Came with a factory cab. I chopped a lot of corn and pulled a 5 bottom MF 880 plough. Great tractor for field operations.
I grew up on a small dairy with Oliver's and wore out equipment. When I worked at the neighbors with a 986 on a discbine and 1086 on the chopper it was awesome. I'll always be fond of a IH 86 series.
Good video Ryan! Have to save them old tractors! I'm with you keep the cab, it it's in good shape no reason to take it off! I agree with you guys that hate them cabs never had to farm with open stations year a round!
1456 a true muscle tractor. Very highly sought after. All of those tractors are sweet. Of course, I could be biased as I have all red here. I have an 856 as well. Mine has the M&W Turbo on it, That and the 966 Hydro would be the last to leave here. But all the ones I have all seem to have their own jobs that they work best for. I bought a 584 from a friend last year that is as handy as a shirt pocket. The 86 series seem to get a bad rap, but I like them. Spent a lot of hours on an 886. Would like to own an 86 series someday, I drove a front wheel assist 1486 at Red Power Dys when they were new. Pulled an offset Miller disc.
Thanks for the great video Ryan. It was most interesting and informative and really enjoyable to watch. What I really appreciate is the fact you took your time, at harvest time, to get these really neat tractors started and running and at least moving. These tractors are some of the best that IH produced back in the day. And I can tell you like each and every one of them. We had a 560 back in the day and we liked it. The other tractors you are talking about and working on we didn’t own but the neighbor had them and we used them. We also had a 460 along with the 560. I plowed a lot with the 560. Appreciate the caring you are giving these tractors. I can tell you really care about them. I hope you can get them going better and get some use out of them. Fine fine old pieces of machinery. Hate to see them just sit outside. Heartbreaking. Thanks again Ryan for your efforts here. You take care. The Iowa farm boy. Steve 😊👍🙏✅🇺🇸
Great video. I love it. I'm on a mission to get a couple neighborhood tractors running again. The first is a WD45 Allis Chalmers that belongs to my elderly neighbor. The second is a John Deere M which was a toy for our non farm neighbors. It was in a barn that was getting in sorry condition. The other day my wife call and said the barn collapsed. Fortunately I went down with my John Deere 60 and was able to get the door open and pull the tractor out undamaged. It's a sat for 20 years barn find tractor that ran when parked and my wife has taken to it so it may be staying in my shop indefinitely. Looking forward to more on these tractors you are rescuing in what looks like just the nick of time.
Nice job on bringing those tractors back to life. I have a couple I know it can be done on now too. Just not sure if I can do it but I probably need to try. 👍🏻
Hey Ryan awesome video I grew up riding in a black stripe 1066 fond memories. I emailed you a really cool old video of some cool sound guards running definitely worth a watch. Thanks!
People do hate on the 86 series but I have some really good memories with my grandpas 1586 and I think the design is iconic. I got plans to restore it someday. It’s the only red tractor that I plan on keeping 😂
Spent many an hour in a 1486. Coming from a 1066 with a Year-A-Round cab I thought it was great. Favorite thing was the 24mph road gear and the least favorite was the small cab which had no room to stretch my legs.
Good video. I have a 1066 that I need to get running again. Unfortunately a previous owner took a cutting torch to the rear axles, maybe too wide to go through gates or building doors?
Wish my neighbors had stuff like that in the weeds I could get running and use...............Poor guy would have had 200 people in the driveway every week if he lived here were I do wanting to buy those. Seems like every time I have my 1456 out running the tub grinder you put a video up the next day with a 1456 in it anymore. Any of your other neighbors have any clapped out 55 series Deeres, looking for one with 15 spd and a junk engine to drop a IH DT-466 I got in to ruin everyones lives locally.
Farmall 06 and 56 series were the worst tractors ever made. Hydraulics suck on those things. Buy a White or Oliver if you want a real tractor from that era. The idiots who didn't have enough money bought the 56 series and older. Junk
Amazing. Like my old 656
I'm a 62 year-old farmer and I love your videos.

1456 will be around longer than any tractor built in the last 20 years. Real farm equipment right there👍
Great story Ryan , keep us posted on the progress 👍🏻

I don't believe I've ever seen wild cucumber. Glad to see that you're getting these old machines "back on their feet".

Thanks Ryan! Great video! Love see the old workers get new life-he needs to sell ya one!

Still have my second tractor its a 1256 bought in 1979. Overhauled it and painted it. Will stay on the farm. love your Fridays, have a great fall.

Hopefully he will sell to you when he's ready.
Good video Ryan. Nice to see them running. Like my old IH tractors. Still farm with them. Do like the green ones too. Thanks for sharing the video.
Nice job on bringing those tractors back to life. I have a couple I know it can be done on now too. Just not sure if I can do it but I probably need to try. 👍🏻
The Transtar is my favorite semi.
Hey Ryan awesome video I grew up riding in a black stripe 1066 fond memories. I emailed you a really cool old video of some cool sound guards running definitely worth a watch. Thanks!
I've seen black stripes with 86 series trumping housing different casting with holes for 86 series cab
Great video!
Also late production blackstripes had the 86 series rear hubs and 3 pt lift arms.
I like the 66 series but all the old Red ones I like to
Cool tractors

Hi Ryan we a856 1466 and my favorite 1486. Awesome awesome awesome video
Spent many an hour in a 1486. Coming from a 1066 with a Year-A-Round cab I thought it was great. Favorite thing was the 24mph road gear and the least favorite was the small cab which had no room to stretch my legs.
I know where two more sit a cab 1086 and an open station 986 with bolt on duals. Both with trees growing up through them.
Good video. I have a 1066 that I need to get running again. Unfortunately a previous owner took a cutting torch to the rear axles, maybe too wide to go through gates or building doors?
I have a 1975 1066. Not a blackstripe. No luvers on side panels
So many of them never get saved when they sit a long time like that. Whats with the New Holland combine? Any chance we see that running?
Some people have all the luck. I pulled my dad’s 660 out of the weeds and the motor is tight.
Just like vice grip garage!
RYAN hope you repait these tractor s
You still need to go do a video with Wayne Kuhl,,,he owns the first John Deere “D” sold in Clark Co WI
What was the combine sitting there
Black stripe 1066 is serial number 55425 and above.
What a 955 have you seen one.
1206 and a966 were the best tractors ih made
Not
Getting some cattle and some old red iron around! Must be mid life crisis. Lol
Could be a bad injector?
I have a feeling the trans treatment isn't gonna quite do it. U may have to pull the rotor out of the pump maybe tge distributor head .

Nice old tractors and your talking about them is great but your filming is a mess terrible. Have a great day.
Glad you think it's cool, but they sucked. Buy a 66 series. Green tractors are way better than those things...
Farmall 06 and 56 series were the worst tractors ever made. Hydraulics suck on those things. Buy a White or Oliver if you want a real tractor from that era. The idiots who didn't have enough money bought the 56 series and older. Junk
LMAO.
Lol I’ve got a dang headache now
