    The idea of minifigs with older features like grey hair and wrinkles also having standard design elements from previous minifigs is really cool. Like the characters that are old now used to be 2000's era standard minifigs, they're just aged. A really old character could just have the classic smiley face but with a lot of wrinkles. IDK if that's what they were going for but it's my head-canon now.

    • @LegoSonicBoy
      @LegoSonicBoy ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's almost certainly a printing quality issue, although early 2000s minifig prints weren't the best either so even that strangely matches. Nothing wrong with headcanons though!

    I think it has a very quaint small-town charm to it. Like the train station and town square in previous years this has a very cozy feel to it.
    I always think the Holoska village music is a good fit for the feeling these sets give.

    I really like this set, and I love the music store! I love how the snow on the roof looks like it could slide off at any moment. To me the store really looks “alive”, if that makes sense? Lol
    Yeah, the buildings are kinda narrow but the designers did such a good job on the facade of each building that I agree they’ll look awesome in the background of City/Christmas displays. Great review!!

  • @kentslocum

    The LEGO Designers did a fantastic job with this set! I especially appreciate the fact that these buildings seem to work well with the Winter Village post office, both in style and the red mailbox.

    I really like the set. The thinness is very helpful for displaying on a table against a wall. So I'm okay for it. For $33 for each thing I think it works really well and I really like it, more so after last year's disappointing Santa's Visit.
    I completely agree with the dark pink torso. No need for waist lines on sweater torsos.

    I feel like it would have been nicer to make one building instead of 2, and I would have chosen the music shop to go with the tram. My preference is always for a complete building over having multilpe facades. The facades are well done though. I agree that maybe buying 2 is a good idea for those wanting more complete buildings, and you get to have a second tram as well. The tram reminds me of smaller version of the trams we had in my old home town of Bendigo in Australia. Lowely little set that will definitely be added to my shelf at some point in time.

    JANG! can you do instead of a price per piece, do price per gram or ounce? Someone who reviews Lego sets needs to adopt this when reviewing sets. We all know piece counts can be inflated due to little pieces, or "off" if there are big pieces, but if we switch to a weight system it will be uniform no matter what. I wonder what that would be like if you compare it to another brand like COBI, or even a generic Hasbro toy. Please try this and see how far you can take it. Innovate and push the Lego community to advance themselves! Love the content! Thanks

    • @JANGsLEGOreviews
      @JANGsLEGOreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep I included price/weight ratio in every video for a full release season in late 2020. The data was all but useless with no consistent correlation to my own sense of value. Here's a summary of my thoughts www.jangbricks.com/2019/09/faq-pricepart-vs-priceweight-in-lego.html

    • @alexanderanderson7422
      @alexanderanderson7422 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JANGsLEGOreviews look at you! Been there done that of course. You're even better than I thought. It's a good read and the comments have good points too, which you responded to as well. I guess I would summarize everything into it being too complex and case by case to really make it into a stat that can be quickly utilized for comparison. Your technique of "volume of stuff" quickly does that and forces viewers to listen to and consider how you came to that conclusion. The other proposed stats would require people to do some maths or number crunching themselves to see how the number was reached. Far less consistent/helpful than listening to your opinion of "volume of stuff". Thanks for your hard work, I look forward to every video. I'll try to come up with a more helpful suggestion. I enjoy the Gundam videos, do more of those.

    The 2 buildings don't fit together because the bed's frame pushes against the kitchen cabinet.
    Besides that, I'm surprised you don't talk about the fact that there are no rails for the tram - EVERY other review I watched was grumpy because of that. :)

    Except we already have a toy store in the winter village so this is kind of repetitive and certainly not to the scale of the original toy house for $99 and it was a much greater build toy store with the original winter village. you know what I mean so it doesn't really add to the winter village how can you have two toy stores that's kind of weird. I don't like that😣

    It's a $100 trolley with some extra pieces. The buildings are way to small compared to the rest of the village sets, like the Fire Station or Santa's visit. I wish it had been one larger building, like a café or an updated post office or bakery.
