As soon as I heard the guitar riff in the second half, not only did I know what was being played, but my nostalgia flared up something fierce. That game was so good when I was 4.
I had arcade's revenge on genesis back in the day, as well as another spiderman game (and X-Men) I remember them being okay fun (despite horrible design), but having horrible music At least that's what I was going to say, but watching this, I now remember how much I hated arcade's revenge
I remember Spiderman vs. The Kingpin! I played that game alot as a kid! Probably some of my fondest childhood memories are with the game! Oh, Nostalgia!
It's gonna be a good day when everyone plays ultimate alliance for one day because the best friends did. Hopefully I won't have to spend hours upon hours to find someone to play with when that time comes.
I used to play Ultimate Alliance with my high school girlfriend. The thing is it's hard to play with someone who reads the comics. "Hey they have Doctor Strange, I'll be him!" "He was an asshole in so and so comic #49, Don't be him." "Okay then. Hey, I could be Blade!" "Blade has boring powers, you could do better" "Deadpool?" "But I'm Wolverine, I hate you" "Mr. Fantastic?" "Why would Wolverine pair with Mr. Fantastic" ".....I'll be Thor again" "Good boy."
WOW! the first spiderman they played, was the first one I ever had... thanks very much for reviving very horrible childhood memories Matt :D (also, somehow, I manage to finish that game)
"A bomb has been planted that will explode in 24 hours, leveling this city. I offer a $10,000 reward for his apprehension." Okay, clearly someone doesn't know how to properly negotiate. Saving an entire city from billions of dollars of damage for only a 10k reward? Yeah, good luck with that shit.
ForeRunnerODST He's not, I just feel like he's the one who brings him up the most. Not being much of a comic reader myself, I'm not sure if Fin Fang Foom is really as dumb as he sounds.
Goddamn I love that theme song to the 90s SpiderMan TV show. I watched the shit out of that show, it's really the only reason I know about Spider Man at all.
I had Arcade's revenge on the original Gameboy. I was always frustrated that I could never get past the first level. After seeing this video, I no longer have any regrets.
When the game said "Good Job Spidey" i did a slow thumbs up with a face of confusion like "Is it really a good job? Should i be Proud of this? I dont really think so but ok.."
***** The boss and level were bullshit lol. Juggernaut was chasing you and the stage was constantly scrolling and I think if Juggernaut touches you once you're dead. So you had to hit and run while also destroying any obstacles in your way so he won't catch you.
i remember my friends mom was able to get to the sand man level in the first game and i was amazed, but i do remember that swing felt good . because it was the only spider man game i was able to play backthen.
Probably. I'm pretty sure that was one of the big fears Spiderman had that kept him from becoming a criminal since it would completely destroy his Aunt.
tank7013 I just went through their old videos and it turns out they never did play it (maybe because it's not actually an indie game and I'm an idiot). Still totally real though
I might be wrong on this, and (yes) I'm too lazy to google it, but I'm fairly sure it's some....puzzle game, like inverted Tetris or some shit. Clear the screen and get rewarded with what used to pass as hentai. It's times like these I'm happy my few friends can't read my comment history.
Oh, BBB is real, and sells for tons on eBay. It's for the NES. I forgot which puzzle game they cloned to make it. But if you want to be rewarded with 8-bit softcore porn, go for it.
6:00 Confirmed, Woolie will be killed by Spider-Man inside a warehouse. He will be missed. His crimes were lying by jurisdiction (L.B.J.) and theft of pie (T.O.P.)
Spider-Man the video game/Spider-Man Arcade is closer to the Maximum Carnage or Separation Anxiety games on the SNES than these games. You could play Black Cat and Sub-Mariner in it,automatically placing it above all of those other Spider-Man related beat-em-ups.
Oh god, Arcade's revenge... There was a time where I naively believed that it would be as good as the X-men Sega Genesis duology, I was very, very wrong.
Play any of these spidey games: -Spider-man 3 -Spiderman web of shadows on the wii or on PS2 -Spiderman edge of time on wii -Spiderman friend or foe -Amazing Spiderman 2 BONUS: -Ultimate Spiderman (all of the above were terrible in my opinion, but ultimate spiderman was incredibly great an underrated).
Abe well if you read the actual comic (which btw the game uses for the story and was made by the actual creators of it) its really funny so the game in sense is actually to the tone of the comic itself....is the most closest a game ever gets to a "feeling" of a motion comic
Darker xz I know XD I'm glad to say I actually have the first issue and have the series collection of when venom was introduced which end how the game started...peter in a hoddie fighting venom in the rain on school property
Much like real spiders, Spiderman is easily foiled by a closed glass window.
The first boss enemy is a guy in a forklift. What a amazing Spider-Man lol
90s spiderman the Best spiderman TV series
As soon as I heard the guitar riff in the second half, not only did I know what was being played, but my nostalgia flared up something fierce. That game was so good when I was 4.
Spotter-Man, Defender of Gains.
Hyphens are important only to idiots like you and me.
That 90s spiderman opening gets me hype every time.
I hereby demand WoolieVenom and LiamCarnage animated shorts. Obey my whims, mortals!
My brother and me would play this game all the time on our Genesis back in the day. Good times!
Wait, so Arcade is just Marvel Universe Liam? That makes so much sense.
How so?
who's liam? sounds like a villain from real unknown underground comic
***** you idiot *smacks self* he means Liam of the Switcher group
Well now that you mention it, he does look like Liam.
You mean Vita?
I had arcade's revenge on genesis back in the day, as well as another spiderman game (and X-Men) I remember them being okay fun (despite horrible design), but having horrible music
At least that's what I was going to say, but watching this, I now remember how much I hated arcade's revenge
oh yea that game ruined my childhood lol
I remember Spiderman vs. The Kingpin! I played that game alot as a kid! Probably some of my fondest childhood memories are with the game! Oh, Nostalgia!
Apparantly the leval designer thought the second game was a performance art piece
This is the song, written for Spider-man,
This is the game, Liam and Matt
HE TRIIIIED TO KILL ME WITH A FORKLIFT! OLE!
So this is the game that Liam hated so much.
It's gonna be a good day when everyone plays ultimate alliance for one day because the best friends did. Hopefully I won't have to spend hours upon hours to find someone to play with when that time comes.
Hell to the frabjuous yeah!
I used to play Ultimate Alliance with my high school girlfriend. The thing is it's hard to play with someone who reads the comics.
"Hey they have Doctor Strange, I'll be him!"
"He was an asshole in so and so comic #49, Don't be him."
"Okay then. Hey, I could be Blade!"
"Blade has boring powers, you could do better"
"Deadpool?"
"But I'm Wolverine, I hate you"
"Mr. Fantastic?"
"Why would Wolverine pair with Mr. Fantastic"
".....I'll be Thor again"
"Good boy."
***** "I'll play as Iron Man"
"But hes a drunk"
"He's also rich."
"Be Iron Man."
11:45, this the song about the spoder-man,
He gets around, shooting his web!
HE TRIIIIIIIIED TO KILL ME WITH A FORKLIFT!
WOW! the first spiderman they played, was the first one I ever had... thanks very much for reviving very horrible childhood memories Matt :D (also, somehow, I manage to finish that game)
So this game is such a big part of my childhood. It's so bizarre, but I will always love it.
I am just happy that they used the 90's Spider-Man theme for the intro. Best superhero cartoon theme ever!
Who else loves the 90's spider-man theme?!
Why do these old Marvel 90's cartoon have such awesome intro musics? Iron Man, Spiderman, X-Men, goddammit, they were so good.
I'm comin' for your pooper, spiderman! Right for your pooper!
"He triiiiiiied to kill me with a fooork-liiiiift"
Mmmm. 90s Spiderman theme during the intro. Gotta love that shit. :)
Rumor has it that he takes a dump in a coffee can...
This game is GREAT...especially for it being released in 1990!!
I think in every game when cyclops dies it should say "Congratulations!" instead of "Game Over"
"A bomb has been planted that will explode in 24 hours, leveling this city. I offer a $10,000 reward for his apprehension."
Okay, clearly someone doesn't know how to properly negotiate. Saving an entire city from billions of dollars of damage for only a 10k reward? Yeah, good luck with that shit.
Holy crap, Arcade's Revenge! Such frustrating, frustrating memories from my childhood.
Good to know I'm not the last person alive who remembers the shot web meme.
Can someone explain to me why they mention Fin Fang Foom so often.
Because he's a big, dumb, racist Chinese dragon who wears little purple shorts.
Liam has kind of a one-track mind, if you haven't noticed. He picks up one dumb joke and runs with it for a while.
D-Glad I assumed that but he's not the only one talking about it.
Reishyn I had no idea it wore shorts, not surprised though.
ForeRunnerODST He's not, I just feel like he's the one who brings him up the most. Not being much of a comic reader myself, I'm not sure if Fin Fang Foom is really as dumb as he sounds.
Because he's one of the few villains they know O.O
My Liam senses are tingling..
Kawaii Fuccboi That too.
OMFG I HAD THE SECOND ONE!. I grew up with Arcade's Revenge on the GameGear!!! WOO!
Liam trying to get back up there is basically the part in Zero 1 where you had to jump off some weird pixel perfect edge to get a Cyber-elf.
One of my favorite spider-man theme songs!!
I love how the first boss is a teamster.
I think Forklift Man should be Spider-Man's nemesis. His super power is that he can turn a forklift around instantly.
When the game said "Good Job Spidey" i did a slow thumbs up with a face of confusion like "Is it really a good job? Should i be Proud of this? I dont really think so but ok.."
OH MY GOD! Arcade's Revenge!!! I have that game!!! I hated it! But goddamn, the memories make me want to play it again!
***** Don't forget the bullshit Carnage and Rhino boss fight with Spider-Man
Remember navigating the water as Storm?
***** The boss and level were bullshit lol. Juggernaut was chasing you and the stage was constantly scrolling and I think if Juggernaut touches you once you're dead. So you had to hit and run while also destroying any obstacles in your way so he won't catch you.
Arcade's Revenge has hype ass music. Thanks Tim Follin!
4:25
So Liam hasn't even seen the Sam Raimi movies? That boy's gonna get the groundin' of his life!
i remember my friends mom was able to get to the sand man level in the first game and i was amazed, but i do remember that swing felt good . because it was the only spider man game i was able to play backthen.
The Analmazing Tighterman!
gogurt
its the courage in us all
Sure it is....
11:40 - Because it just has to be said.... "He triiiiieeed to kill me with a forklift! Ole!"
Wouldn't the first thing the police do when they arrest a superhero is take the mask off?
Probably. I'm pretty sure that was one of the big fears Spiderman had that kept him from becoming a criminal since it would completely destroy his Aunt.
I remember this game from the fever dream that was me playing the genesis as a child. Good times.
I really use to enjoy this back in the day. The mega drive version is pretty rare these days so you can get a few dollah for it.
SOMEONE PLEASE GIF SPIDER MAN TEA BAGGING THE COP!!!!
So this is where Liam learned his vent crawling skills
While I never had a Genesis back in the day, the level design here sure does remind me of quite a few games I _did_ have.
This is the song rented for the fight scene, this is the song Liam and Mat. He tried to kill him with a forklift HUZZAH!!!
Gotta love that theme song.
YO! If Arcade is ever in a movie, (and I know he will be) He should totally be played by Seth Green.
i miss the 90s spiderman cartoon
For some reason the title made me think this might be the pretty good Spider-man arcade beat-em-up.
Please tell Liam was joking about Bubble Bath Babes....please tell me that's not a thing....
I think it was in one of the xbox live indie game machinima episodes, Either way, it's definitely real.
tank7013 I just went through their old videos and it turns out they never did play it (maybe because it's not actually an indie game and I'm an idiot). Still totally real though
I might be wrong on this, and (yes) I'm too lazy to google it, but I'm fairly sure it's some....puzzle game, like inverted Tetris or some shit. Clear the screen and get rewarded with what used to pass as hentai.

Oh, BBB is real, and sells for tons on eBay. It's for the NES. I forgot which puzzle game they cloned to make it. But if you want to be rewarded with 8-bit softcore porn, go for it.
I think it was a tetris clone.
Forklift driver was always my favorite Spiderman villain.
Dat intro song: Feels the nostalgia
Remember that time Superman lived for 500 years and killed Hitler's clone who was making clones of Batman to wipe out the human race?
Because HE IS A MAN!
The garbage truck comic is from an issue where Spider-man is put in a giant pinball machine.
Matt keeps mentioning eternal champions. If that's a future FNF or scrublords episode I'd be super happy cause that game's fucking sick.
Remember that time Mary Jane basically called Peter an idiot for always running out of webbing? That was hilarious.
That intro music...was my childhood.
thank you Mat... I woke up everyone screaming at my computer sooo pissed.
6:00
Confirmed, Woolie will be killed by
Spider-Man inside a warehouse.
He will be missed.
His crimes were lying by jurisdiction (L.B.J.) and theft of pie (T.O.P.)
I remember this game! This game is pretty hard... Bought this cartridge from a garage sale
OMG that 90s theme song was ...ridiculous.
"Fuck da police" - Spooderman
OMG this episode had me laughing super hard. NOOOO SPODER!!!
I didn't know that this game came out for Genesis as well. I only remember seeing the SNES port. Also, Gambit's last name is spelled super wrong.
Too bad they didn't get to Storm's water levels... cuz it's her power to be an aquaman.
Completely agree. To fully realize how ass-rapingly hard this game is, one must play Storm's level
Play any of these spidey games:
-Spider-man 3
-Spiderman web of shadows on the wii or on PS2
-Spiderman edge of time on wii
-Spiderman friend or foe
-Amazing Spiderman 2
BONUS:
-Ultimate Spiderman (all of the above were terrible in my opinion, but ultimate spiderman was incredibly great an underrated).
Weird. The only one there I didn't like _was_ Ultimate Spiderman. Even Spiderman 3 was hilariously awesome.
Abe well if you read the actual comic (which btw the game uses for the story and was made by the actual creators of it) its really funny so the game in sense is actually to the tone of the comic itself....is the most closest a game ever gets to a "feeling" of a motion comic
It has the funniest spidey ever.
Darker xz I know XD I'm glad to say I actually have the first issue and have the series collection of when venom was introduced which end how the game started...peter in a hoddie fighting venom in the rain on school property
*****
When he distracts kingpin by making jokes about how fat he is... Top notch.
I heard the theme song. Hype'd in my pants
That Masayoshi Yokoyama joke in the intro refuses to get less funny no matter how many times I see it.
Spider-Man has the hardest life.
Liam is somehow even cuter here than in other videos!
Remember that time J.J. Jamenson made robots to fight Spider-Man?
He tried to kill him with a FORKLIFT~
Please take a look of the Sega CD version please, just for the funny cut-scenes and the song at the menu XD
spooder-moon
not even 2 minutes in, and matt's punching and tea bagging the police
These guys are so young, so cute.
Skip to 5:30 if you don't want to see Matt and Liam trying and failing repeatedly to enter a building.
You guys should play the spider man arcade beat em up its four players if I do remember and it has the sub mariner for some reason.
You know, guys, I can direct you to a sound effect-free version of the Spider-man theme song if you want it.
I knew the second they started the game up it'd take them forever to find that open window.
Feel the Spoder flow through you.
Their blind hatred of Cyclops is hilarious.
I hope they play Captain America for the NES this month.
"Who was this made by?!" A bunch of Japanese guys. This was made in-house by Sega to promote the Genesis.
I remember this game! I played a version on the Sega Game Gear!
The windows look like somebody scribbled blue crayon on a piece of paper
Maybe it's just the microphone, but it sounds like Liam's voice has gotten deeper since this.
+godwavenexus Well, yeah, he hit puberty a few months ago
Matt's destiny obviously lies with Cyclops.
I was thinking about how Erik Larsen drew that picture right before it was mentioned!
At least the music for Arcade's Revenge was good on SNES.
