What are the hours like in a typical week in the life of a dermatology trainee? I.e. monday, Tuesday etc

It’s usually a 40 hours week and you sometimes work a bit longer when you are on call.

Why did you choose the West of Scotland specially? Why not London ? Wales ?

Good question! I did my medical training in West of Scotland and fell in love with the people and city here. The training here is also superb!😊

Hi Dr Chris! I am Dr Abhinaba Saha, MBBS from India, working as a Junior Resident Doctor(House staff) at present. I had some questions regarding Dermatology Speciality training. I have already watched your YT videos. They are explanatory and insightful. I am thinking of pursuing a PG Dip in Clinical Dermatology offered by the University of South Wales. Since it has 1 point in the portfolio section should I go for it or I can also pursue a same or PG CERT while I am in the UK in future(hopefully). I am also planning to appear for MRCP 1 by this year end and PLAB exams by 2025(for the purpose of GMC registration) Please do reply. I have texted you on Instagram too. Please do respond. Hi! It’s hard to give advice as everyone’s situation is different. I think either of them is worth pursuing. If you are looking specifically at the points (this changes frequently), I would advise just doing a PG cert. You have other exams to focus on so you probably would like to prioritise.

I am really interested in dermatology, i am thinking about doing my dermatology residency in Romania and then come to UK as dermatology specialist or as consultant is it possible? And what exam should i have to give to come to uk as speciality doctor? Thank you ,

Thank you for liking my video! I’m not entirely sure how the dermatology residency in Romania translates to the UK. I think best check with GMC in the first instance. You will need to register to be a licensed practitioner with GMC first. :)
