- I took on a large boredom project a while back that I decided to turn into a video to make something productive out of it.
I took WoW's Free to Play option, and took it as far as I can. An adventure that revealed new playstyles people don't usually have use when playing WoW normally, and insights into how the game works that nobody even needs to think about in the standard WoW experience

Going through the enchants lately, It seems one of the patches between when this video was made and now changed the rules for item levels required to apply enchants to gear.
So the section of this video talking about the best enchants MAY be out of date, and I'd encourage you to do your own experimentation if you're looking to do this yourself

Doing something like this gives you a chance to actually explore and figure things out again

Right now there is a developer crying to themselves because someone has finally realized their vision of ftp wow.
I mean.. Level 20 twinking has been a thing for years until recently. This is definitely nothing new..
Well all the being able to play tbc dungeons and every other expansion at 20 is definitely a game changer especially mixed with gear scaling lol. Used to be very limited to what you could get for gear now it’s crazy how many options there is

@SpkillerGaming Your comment doesn't even make sense? How am I being negative about level 20 twinks? Blizzard does everything they can to break them, I'd know I spent over 1m gold on my 20 monk. I'm active on XPOff as well, so unless you are too I don't think you know more about the 20 community than I do. 20 doesn't have a separate bracket anymore, which is exactly why nobody does 20 free to play anymore you goofball.
Yeah, but back when 'twinking' was a huge thing, WoW wasn't free to 20. Maybe don't go out of your way to invalidate someone's comment to seem smart.@@dalama1161
It might be easier for you on RP servers, if you're seeking help from players with subscription. TRP lets you put a note on your character, where people will whisper trial accounts if they jump in front of them.

Its a good idea, lots of bored people on the realm, so at least it allows you to communicate on a platform that's active, thus bypassing blizzards restriction and allowing you to seek assistance from other players. Esp to run content you can't solo for year like strat

Unlike those who think us Rper's are just sex-crazed freaks, this person is 110% right. My server is one of the most active, and one of the friendliest in my opinion. TRP makes it easier to get an idea of people and what they're doing. I make profiles for my alts that don't I RP on.
Free to play twinking has been big for a long time. Recently however its less popular since they removed the level 20 bracket in pvp.

The Level 19rogue twinking with the Double dagger enchanment onhit 100healing was so op.

Yeah twinking is ass in any game, and a f2p twink cuts into profit from a paid player trying PvP when leveling up

I’m aiming to try being more active on TH-cam but this video In particular was a colossal effort, I’ll definitely be doing more videos of this style, but how often I can do them depends on what kind of project it’s about.
I have another idea in the chamber for a wow video but life’s been busy this month so I haven’t started yet
@@TheWideMurloc Would be cool to see some different classes at lvl 20 bracket, but not as in depth. Just level to 20, and compare how they are at the start of 20 vs when they get some alright gear. Pros and cons of the classes, who it's easiest to solo stuff with, etc. I would love some info like that to help guide my class choice when I try f2p wow again. I also realize this is selfish, but just throwing an idea out there.

It's crazy to think that Hardcore WoW started as someone just like this who wanted to play the game differently and I can honestly see you stumbling upon something EVEN better than hardcore but for the retail community. THIS is truly an awesome video and idea my friend, pulled me away from my transmog runs to watch the whole thing
This is like bringing Runescape Ironman mode to WoW. I could only imagine the possibilities with level increase.

For as long as twink 20 has existed, this form of play has always been fun. It's a real game within a game, another world within a main world

Best damage by a long shot at low levels is probably Resto Shaman. They're so broken. You don't even have to heal because you chain lightning everything to death before your tank can take damage.
I remember leveling a blood DK and i was wondering how the healer had more dmg than me, it was close but it just said “28000 chain lightning” and i was just shocked literally
@@zaxor9057 healers do nutty damage at low levels. holy priests can clean sweep dungeons at lvl 10-15 or so by just clicking holy nova over and over again

Fun tip about the i50 restriction on some enchants.
They still work if you use them on scaling gear such as heirlooms, if you enchant them before lv17 while they're still under i50.

I love things like this! As someone who's currently levelling their own 'challenge character' but in a slightly different spirit, I found this video really informative. My character is locked at 59 and completing all quests/collecting all transmog & achievements from each expansion before moving on. Thank you for the video.

I mean I'll be honest I did this years ago when the free to play model was first introduced, but it's wonderful seeing other players take part in the same fun. I used a hunter for my experience and it was pretty good.

I haven't played retail since Wrath of the Lich King (currently playing Season of Discovery) and it's quite interesting how the game looks now and what you can do on free to play mode. Thanks for sharing.

when you were trying to get the enchanting mats, what ran through my mind was Tailoring. I main DH with enchanting as my main profession, and I have tailoring as my other one. It allows me to craft the gear to get the mats i need, and it doesn't require another profession to harvest the materials, since it's all dropped from humanoids (or in WoD, Beasts)
I recognize that you probably didn't want to lose all the progress you made in Jewelcrafting, so thats why you went with that, but if you (for some reason) do this kind of thing again, you might want to look into tailoring! plus, bags are always nice

That was really cool.I also quite liked the beard sub-plot.
For VH, you can chose the exact boss sequence by clicking the torch things that are located in various locations in that dungeon, the order you click them in dictates the boss line up, I didn’t see anything about this on the internet at all, either I was lucky 4 times in a row after clicking them in a certain order, or its a overlooked part of the dungeon, and to reach that TBC dungeon, get the anti gravity toy to boost you in the air and goblin glider to it, or there’s also a trinket from MOP, it drops from a rare elite in the vale that also boosts you in the air
You might’ve gotten lucky. iirc all those little switches do is clear all the trash that are currently up in the room
I'm broke because I have a mortgage to pay off for the next 30 years. At least my car's paid off.
But playing WoW without a subscription is a lot less stressful as well. I can just chill instead of stressing out about getting 370 item level gear for the new Kobold Khaos dungeon in Titanfarts or whatever to help Elune find the Cheeseburger of Domination so she/her can defeat Ghur'xurg'alax the Evil
I played a ton of starter back in mop, its wild how much more content you can do at 20 now. I was pretty much locked to WC

My favourite time to twink was late legion doing speed sets, you could run insanely fast permanently, it always threw people if you hopped into any content running at that speed

Great video, this definitely brought back memories for me. Your video reminded me of all the weird shit and painful grinds f2p had to do for +2 dps! When I was 11 or so I had no way to pay for a subscription, but was determined to play WoW anyway so I racked up a disgusting amount of time on the free to play mode. I remember stealthing all the way to Stranglethorn and camping Gurubashi Arena for the heirloom, among various other insane tasks. I ended up eventually buying a subscription and playing for many more years, but free to play will always be nostalgic.

I remember playing on a private server more than a decade ago. The Hand of Justice trinket was infamous during Vanilla and even Burning Crusade, because it the chance to proc was not reduced like on the official servers. And both Vanilla and BC had melee classes do a Lot of damage from autoattacks.
Them completely disabling it is really chirurgical fun removal. Now when huge portion of damage was shifted into active abilities, away from autoattacks, it wouldn't even be that stellar.

I remember when I got "Universal Explorer" in Shadowlands solely as a level 20 free trialer. That was a cool adventure but your story sounds much more intriguing.

Dude, you really are a madman. I got a lvl 19 PvP Twink some years ago and played like 30 hours (before heirloom times) to equipp him like i wanted, but this is madness! I like that!

ohhh i was genuinely wondering what this could entail, but because you can now access all kinds of dungeons you couldn't before the level scaling it means you can get a geared 20 with sockets etc
with your newfound knowledge how long would it take to create a twink like this? ie if i wanted to make a hunter level 20
everything leading up to getting enchants shouldn't take all too long at all, It's really the enchanting that sucks all the time away, especially if you know from the start what to aim for, and go for Warforged gear instead of wasting as much time as I did in TBC

Awesome video had a similar journey make 29 xpoff characters for my original heirlooms which were just sitting in the bank and locking each in a different chromie time. Played for change of pace but became a wow lite super fun I even made bags for expansion specific. I love your video awesome

Great video! There’s communities that revolve around theorycrafting lvl 20 BiS and what’s possible at lvl 20, but it’s very impressive you were able to find out this much info on your own. The xpoff community and 20s discord will have a PLETHORA of info for you, as well as dedicated f2p players that can help with your questions. There’s players that have never had a sub on their account and have 20k+ achievement points at level 20

This was me growing up. What a fun video.
I do this all the time when I get bored of the endgame. My level 20 twink, a windwalker monk, can solo every dungeon I have access to, and is fully decked in ilvl 87 versa/mastery gear.
Happened to stumble across this video during my playthrough as F2P as well, this was really well made. I would enjoy a series of this where you try to do more stuff as F2P!
