Gay 20-something and long time Ice Cream Fitness follower here: You are correct that many gay men lift weights under the motivation to attract more sexual partners. This, however, is only part of the big picture. Among many gay cliques, having a body type that requires weight lifting not only gives access to more sexual partners, but also status, friends, internet popularity, even business connections and entry to events. This is not a statement on whether this is a good or bad thing. However, it is objectively true that more gay men are willing to introduce themselves and get to know you as a person if you are also physically attractive.
here's the closest thing to a self-reporting statistical analysis on this: www.studiomoh.com/fun/census/results.php As always, thank you for your hard work and great youtube content
I never realized this until I managed a large, commercial gym for a few years. I was shocked at how many of the hardcore bodybuilders there were gay. We were constantly finding men having sex in the locker room. It was a big gay gathering place for men, but not for women. From talking to all the other managers in different districts and states, their gyms were the same way.
As a gay man I understand why this question is asked by a straight person but I did laugh a little by the obviousness of the answer and that is cause we are gay. A defining part of a homosexual man is that you are attracted to men. Duh. But what I like about this question is that is does show how by the obvious difference of gay and straights that we forget the implications of that difference. A straight person has to be reminded that gay guys are attracted to guys cause straight guys are not. It like how I hangout with my firends and I get surprised that they check out women. And it doesn't hit me until a minute of questioning what the hell are they looking at?
I'm gay and started lifting weights about 30 years ago. Of course, at first, I just wanted to look good. But, shortly I realized how good it made me feel. I still workout as an antidepressant. I also think that it's a way to manage Cortisol. Gay men tend to have higher Cortisol levels. Exercise helps with lowering Cortisol. Thank you for the great video 😊
It is all subjective, especially what we; as individuals find aesthetically pleasing. Obviously, not everyone finds lifters any more attractive than any other person. Personally, I'll take a healthy mind over a healthy body every day of the week, though both would be the best combination. The body will always change whereas mindsets seldom do. I guess what has got my back up is the assumption that attractiveness (which you keep referring to) can be attained in a gym, which I see as a false statement. Nothing you do will have any effect on your ability to pull a mate if you don't already believe you can, and going to the gym will only serve to make your grip stronger.
3:22 "While you're trying to get p____, they are trying to get d___." That statement, although true, simply took me out. My goodness. I think I died and came back to life at least three times to make sure that I heard him correctly. ... Too funny. By the way, I lift often, but do it to have a body that hangs my clothes well.
Hey Jason, I just started working out and I am going to start training with your novice program, I am wondering how long you recommend following this program?
Hey jason, yesterday morning i experience for the first time, kind of an electric hit in my left bicep. Like it was contracting agaisnt my will. Only thing that comes to my mind is my overhanded grip on deadlifts. Any thoughts/experiences?
Jason i really cant believe how many guys actually trust kinnobody that hes natty hahahahahahaa, i just love your video about him, i posted on his video asking full blood hormone panel lols. Thumbs up for you brother!!
I don't know why this is not more obvious to people. when I was ripped as fuck, it mostly just got me attention from gays (part of the reason I stopped hitting the gym so hard), women would look, but it's almost more of a novelty/entertainment thing for them.
I love bodybuilding and want to do it more, more!!! everyday, it's so addicting!! I enjoy it, but guys there just aren't into it, and they just chat, and it kinda , well, kills the mood. I want to get back to it, because it's something I do really well. i can spend hours there
Whereas women care more about a man's height, job prospects, and earning income potential which is why poor and short men are on the bottom of the dating barrel for women.
@@passiveinvestor1978 A woman’s attraction is rooted in her own personal survival. They are not really into muscles like some guys think. All you mentioned increase her chance of survival.. being taller than her make her subconsciously believe you can protect her from harm.. income means you can take care of her needs to survive

@@_fitdoc95_ all attraction has a basis of survival instincts in it. It happens subconsciously whether male or female. I don't know why people are stuck in the victorian age stereotype of women that they are not base and shallow (like men) and are somewhat attracted to personality and shit. Not at all. Men and women are both attracted equally to physical appearance as the primary driver and it's because of the survival instincts that happen subconsciously in the brain. It's not that how females get attracted is any biologically different from how a man is attracted. We live in an age where women have more freedom to express their sexuality without needing to virtue signal in fear of being ostracized by the society. And in this age, young men need to stop listening to dating advice from old men who dealt with a totally different set of women from what we young people deal with. Old people want to tell you how women are attracted to good personality and shit, it makes lots of young men to simp a lot thinking they'll be laid. No, women aren't attracted to personality. It's not at the top of the list, just like us men, they're first attracted to how you look FIRST, before they even consider if you have a good personality. At sometimes they even ignore shitty personalities as long as you have the looks and then come around telling you "all men are scam" yet they ignored the "good personality" guy in pursuit of looks from a person of a shitty personality. The "men are visual creatures" is ludicrous nonsense and a silly stereotype that needs to be done away with. We are all EQUALLY visual creatures including animals in the wild regardless of gender.
Also I have a question, why dosnt the opposite happen? Why don't straight guys go to activities where there's a lot of women, like cheer leading, dancing, cooking ect. And I'm saying that casue when I took dance class the teacher told one of the students to take off her shirt and tell the other girls that this is the type of bra they need to use and I'm thinking, why am I the only guy here? Seriously I'm gay and yet I even know how hot these girls are suppose to be. Are straight guys really that scared of being called gay that it stops them for going after chicks?
I have to disagree this time. Everything is way more simple: look, I'm not gay, but 3g of gear and Cabergoline... may do the trick. I would f*ck a wall.

They are mirin" bra
Guys in general are very visual. Most gay men like buffer guys. Therefore gays lift.
Homosexual men created bodybuilding. Homosexual men standarised the ideal men body. Heterosexual men follow the standards homosexual men set.
ABSOLUTELY 💯

id say that and the need to valid one's own masculinity which men both gay and straight try to do with weight training

One year.
Jason Blaha Fitness thanks

Jason, what contributes to grip strength more the thumb muscle or the forearm?
Both
Damn I can't even get the gay market to subscribe. I must not be attractive to the eye. Great, I'm old and unattractive.
Hah😂😂😂attract women? I wanna say women are probably only 5 percent of the reason I lift. At most.
Gee, what a totally dumb question!!!

Im Bisexual im attracted to both male and female bodybuilders
AT Least you are being honest. Most bisexuals pass for straight!!!
we do it because we want to be seen as manly and weight lifting is manly
Absolutely. Make us more manly if that’s what we want and attract other manly men.
