Haven't got it yet, but I'm thinking about getting it for my 5 y/o for Christmas. Reminds me a little of the Lego games, where the Story they run through is usually the shorter part of the game, and collecting all kinds of stuff makes for the rest of it and is considerable more challenging too. And $40 is just your new $30, consider they are asking like $70 for some new games now, instead of $50, that is just how it is. Though, as pretty much all games, this will probably fall in price reasonably fast, especially when you are getting a retail version.
(7:17) As far as I know, social gaming achievements aren't a thing on Nintendo systems, but games can have their own in-game achievement systems (like receiving Nook Miles in Animal Crossing or unlocking Splashtag badges in Splatoon).
Its not a bad game by any means, but its exactly what you would expect it to be - A short 1-2 hour experience with a very basic story and some very mild platforming/puzzle mechanics. I honestly wouldn't even call it a video game but more of a short experience. The game doesn't even have an ending - you just go to the beach and then the entire world opens up and you just replay the chapters and the mini games. Again, not that its a bad thing because its clearly meant for pre-schoolers and kindergarten.
Nice review on the game and hope to see you in the next! Kinda glad I didn’t get the game because I had my expectations a little too high but it’s a solid game, at least a good game for people who like grinding to collect/complete any game given
I wish I had waited on a review- I definitely don't think the game was worth the 40 dollar price tag. I think my favorite part of the game was just hearing how older some characters sound but that's about it lol
As a pony fan, I didn’t expect much from the same publisher. I know someone who worked on the MLP game that came out May of last year and they told me they were under a huge crunch to get it out fast and so it wasn’t the game they dreamed of. Maybe Bluey had similar treatment and could’ve had something more if they weren’t rushing it out probably before the holidays. But, I actually had fun playing it and achievement hunting, and I liked the story. The bugs made me laugh. Not worth €40 for miles though. 100%d it, took me about 3 or 4 hours (casually, slowly, while streaming, I was actually the one who raided redwrld that night haha)

There's a universe were there's a really good linear bluey rpg with the characters pretending to be in a game like the episode dragon. Almost Like paper mario meets the lego games.
I noticed the coloring is off on your capture footage. If you have an elgato capture card, there are some settings you can mess around I found that 7 and 1 work the best for me
I got the game for Christmas from my parents, and i first played it with my bsf who also loves bluey. We both thought the game was pretty boring with some excitement. We both agreed that the mix with 2d and 3d was pretty odd. We didnt finish it but i would rate it a 6/10. Would recommend if you like short and happy games.
I love the game but... I feel like they wanted to do more when they pitched it but had to limit their scope. Imagine there is a universe in which this game was an all ages mostly-linear RPG. kinda like if paper Mario and the Lego games combined with some sort of turn based pretend co-op combat. imagine if you could play as 'Legolas chili' from the episode dragons or something with every episode having a distinguished fantasy theme that calls back to the show while each character has a unique ability and puzzle solving moves based on the pretend game they're playing, (Legolas Chili could solve puzzles with a bow or Bingo could use her force Magic to move objects while dressed as Gandalf), with costumes and a short mildly wholesome plot about 5 hours long. you would have to switch between the main 4 Heelers to solve problems, Face off against side characters, and do small amounts of backtracking in semi-linear stages with lots of nooks, crannies, collectables, and easter eggs to explore. Older ppl could play Co-op and work with someone younger to progress the story while the younger gamers run around. you wouldn't even need to commit to violence or anything, just have a Mario party style minigame or face off. Having the Side characters pretend to be mildly antagonistic towards the Heelers simple, relatable, and admiral goal would be fun. maybe even have to switch between pretend and real life modes to solve puzzles. I would pay top dollar for something like this. the foundation of this game is not far off from what we got and could be something amazing.
My personal opinion is it's great but maybe like $20 would be a better price because It feels lackluster for $40. I haven't finished the game getting the final achievement but I did complete the main story and have slowly been finding the stickers. I would say even ridiculed games like FNAF: SB I think were a better use of the same money. (regardless of Ruin DLC).
i beat the whole game in one day and got all collectable i was hoping something better. Good Story and 4 locations. They should have put more playable characters and more locations that would've made this game better.
lol me and my brother beat the actual like game and then i found all the stickers and plants and proceeded to unlock all 22 achievements 💀💀(i played on xbox) also it is actually free if you have game pass for xbox
I got it for the PS5 Anyway… for the game it’s decent But if o could make a critique to the story. I think they could have not had mort for the final part. I felt the last part should have had stripe and rad with the heelers . The 3 brothers together rediscovering the toy and them reminiscing the memories. But this game could open up furture DLC since it’s odd for the game to end with them going to the beach and the story mode just ends right there
I played on the Switch, and I'll be honest, there are a lot of bugs, and they weren't even the ones that make you laugh, they just made you angry, I had to restart the game about 3 times because the characters would simply freeze, sometimes, when I played with Bandit, the camera it was crashing, some graphical errors, here in Brazil, the game didn't come dubbed, but at least it was translated, which in fact, is a dubious translation, as they translated some slang words literally, the game is also quite stupid, but I don't think that If this is a problem, the studio needs to release an update soon to fix these problems
I felt like the game could have been so much more given it's price tag. Not that I didn't have fun with it, and I know it's a little kids game, but it could have used a bit more time and polish. Too much tedium that was less engaging like the plant watering was a big lull in such a short game. Not to mention I played with my bf on the Switch as well and the bugs and glitches got annoying and took away from it's otherwise pretty charming nature.
I was playing this game 2 player on PS4 and it would lock up our controllers, freeze the game on cutscenes, and it’s not like it’s a technological masterpiece or anything. Also instead of it just running off of the disc, the game was too “big” so it had to download, making it as good as a digital game with extra steps. I would probably say a 3/10 for debugging, 3/10 for controls (idk why you always have to hold down instead of just press once), and 8/10 for story. Overall, only buy if you are a 5 year old with $40.
Well, my hopes for the game aren't good. The reasons why because 1: The game is literally one hour long if you don't collect all the items. And that takes an extra hour or two. So the is around two to three hours. 2: The game is published by Outright Games or as I like to call them: Modern LJN. Like 70% Of their games are pure BS And I know. It's for younger kids but come on! During the PS2 era, we had awesome licensed games like Simpsons Hit and Run, Spongebob bfbb, the Konami tmnt games, and much much more! And now those F-ers have almost every license that exists? Wow... And 3: The game doesn't look or sound good. I mean sometimes the voice acting can be like the show. Really good but most of the time the microphone is too close, too far, or sometimes it even sounds like TTS. And the graphics reminds me of Paper Mario and that's not good. It feels off or heck. Even broken. The game could be so much better but it was just a bland and stupid 40-dollar cash grab! Good job modern LJN! Ruined another licence!
