    I'm interested in the position of the wire and how YOU stop the slipping off??

      You have to maneuver and manipulate the wires. It takes some practice and it won’t be an overnight fix. Quite honestly, you have to play with the wires and slippery cabochons to find the technique that works for you.
      When I first started wire wrapping, I bought stainless steel wire from Home Depot to practice and it helped a lot. It’s pliable, relatively cheap and you can probably get about 10ft of wire for less than $10 a spool.
