A jackal is when the first player on his feet at the ruck is allowed to take the ball from the tackled player on the ground. As long as he releases the tackled player and goes straight for the ball, no hands on the ground. Great video, I really enjoy your fresh analysis of my favourite sport. C'mon Scotland.

Also important to add only the first player to the ruck can jackal. You'll potentially have players that come in as the second man at the ruck and get penalised.

The jackler is the first arriving team member of the tackler at the tackle, or the first person to get to an isolated ball carrier who is on the ground. The defender who gets over the ball carrier before a ruck is formed.

Scotland play a wide running game, which makes watching them exciting. Finn, the Hogwarts dark arts teacher, Russell will dictate how the Scots will play and the guys around him read his mind. That makes it difficult for opponents. Still laughing with the nobody liked basketball till the Brothers started playing ... class mate 🤣. Good videos keep it up

It's a fair opinion that Rugby would benefit from more "brothers" representing the sport, however, Rugby is most definitely watched. There is no competition on Earth with more viewers (per capita) than the Six Nations. Murrayfield could have double the capacity easily. The largest football crowd ever to attend a (soccer) match was in Scotland. 149,500 or so. Scotland still has the largest (per capita) crowds turning out for football every week. Rugby could get those numbers too, had it not been for the Union/League split.

Picts predate both in these islands. Pict was the derogatory term given to Scots by the Romans. (Painted people)

Great. I wasn't implying Scotland, Alba, Scotia or whatever was the origin. I was adding a fact that it predates the Celts, then the Vikings reaching the British Isles, Shetland Islands and Orkney Islands. The other two archipelagos Scotland is found upon. I would imagine somewhere in Africa it goes further back than 30,000 years.
