- Today we're trying out a paint that claims to be a liquid mirror in a bottle. Chrome paint called Mirror from CultureHustle.com. Super cool product, has a ton of great uses in the crafting and cosplay fields. Enjoy :)

Looks like a mirror from a jail cell😂
Those are polished stainless. Not that I have any experience with that or anything...
😂
@@chrisrageNJYeah...but they don't stay polished for very long, or so I've heard...lol. 😏
How do you know? Experienced? 😂
you got that right.... I've seen THOSE mirrors before.😁
A candy color would look great on top of that.
I was thinking the same
Yes please!
Pink, blue, or purple I think would look dope
Exactly, I wanna see them do it on the M3
@@Gamedog7414 I'd be happy with any car 🤣 but I do agree the m3 would be a good tester as it's wider with aggressive but flowly body lines
What I'm wondering is if it would buff after the fact to make it more shiney. I mean, you do that for regular paint ... why not this? It actually looks like it goes on quite thin, so wouldn't know if it could stand up to any cut/buff procedure.
That's what I was thinking, a bit of polishing and it might be better! But for straight paint alone that is a really good chrome
You aren't buffing paint though. You are buffing/polishing the clearcoat layers. So yeah, throw a couple coats of clear over that, let it cure for a month, and then buff it. I'd be interested to see as well.
Actual proper mirror paint dries to a crystal clear mirror finish a karen would be happy to use for makeup. This is a flat chrome at best.
The problem is the basecoat not laying flat
Idk about this stuff but usually when you sand silver, it fucks it up bc you're cutting the metal flakes. Same with polishing, usually you would buff out a clear coat but any sort of flake or metallic doesn't take well to sanding. Maybe some paint pros can refute this but I've been a commercial painter and fabricator for a couple decades and I've sprayed a lot of different products. House of Kolor makes some nice products but you better follow the instructions to a T
HVLP always seems to leave noticeable orange peel. Try conventional spray, thinned as necessary
This is supposed to be applied with a brush, not a gun.
Watching it set up is satisfying. It goes from cloudy to mirror rather quickly
Depends on what they meant by mirror paint. Some mirror pants are meant to be applied on glass as a second surface mirror. The back of it is silver but flattish but the paint that is actually in contact with the glass when viewed through the other side is quite good. If that's the kind of mirror paint your using it's never going to be shiny reflective without being Uber polished as most mirror paint is meant to be applied to glass.
Yes, on the back of glass makes sense. it does do ok painting on the back of lexan rc car bodies.
I want to see this used as a base for a hypershift so bad!!!!
SAME!
I love Fonzie created this it incredible system. I finally move back to Florida after 27 years and I cant find anyone that Dips cars. I live in an apartment complex I want to get my car repainted 1986 TA then dip it one of the awesome colors to protect it. Think it would cost a lot less than pain protection and look incredibly awesome 😎
Hey guy. You've been on TH-cam long enough to turn Grey between the time I saw you last and now. Still killing it.
The paint is fine. It's the medium underneath. If you can't buff and polish the base so that it's perfectly smooth you'll never get that mirror finish. Try this with autoflex. You'll see the difference
It's so...so...so chromey!
I'd love to see a candy over that. Maybe get a polished bronze or copper look?
Maybe with that last close-up, do a hammered finish with those colors?
Try the one from Alsacorp....much better chrome paint.
Reminds me of that "Aluminum" paint we used to use to protect propane tanks.
That is so sick! I would love ❤️ to see a car painted like that!!!!!!
Better product on the market for this
Getting better!
I would be curious to see it with a layer of candy or clear over it. That's . . .actually impressive for a spray !
I think the 1st coat looked better. As with all of these "chrome paints", you usually get the best results from one coat. They just never seem to lay out well with multiple coats.
Nice shinny gray paint
❤Very peely , ruduce more and tack coat followed by several finer coats and one last reduced right to the max coat
A sad mirror/chrome maybe....... Great Content as usual !!!!!
Yeah this one came out a bit better: th-cam.com/video/vSscDvzhoy8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SMuhVgHcyYC6b8GG
@@dipyourcar Agreed - Substantially Better - IMHO .......
@dipyourcar can you make this link work? I want to see it, but if I click on it, it just goes to reply to the comment. - Update: fixed! Thank you!
@@TexChopper It works for me.....
Link doesnt work for me 😢 which video is it??
I think you should look into using this on football helmets. Those hyper shifts in team colors would be amazing.
Just like that... it looks like the coating of a star wars space craft of some sort. futuristic raw alloy.
I've never seen the sprayout models so large. I usually see them size of a hot wheel. Thats gotta be great for trying new colors or matching.
You can't spray right back on it. you have to way till it is almost dry and hit it again. Before you spray anything over it , spray a good floor wax.Idk how well what you sell will stick to that, but that's how i used it, the same with Createx 4140 Quicksilver Chrome
Heard about you on other channels. Your skill, experience and reputation precede you. Of course I was going to watch this vid. Thank you for sharing.
Pretty good for paint
It would be a nice base for under some thin hypershift laid onnit i believe..
Wonder if a clearcoat on top would help it? Or a 3000 grit polish, and a bettet smooth surface under it?
sweet orange peel
You should have painted a control with regular chrome paint and compared them next week one another.
Turned out better than I thought. I remember years ago teying a "chrome" paint in an aerosol can and it jist looked like a bright silver. Didnt seem reflective at all.
Of course, maybe on an extremely well prepped surface, it may have looked better.
looks good shinny..like tin foil...Kool..
Wow! That is incredible, I gotta get some of that paint for pinstriping
Better than I expected
I remember the episode with this stuff. Looks pretty cool but I wouldn’t call it a mirror finish, more like aged chrome.
That said, I’d love to see it tinted with a candy pigment or even just a darker tint
A cut, buff and polish will make it just like a mirror id be willing to bet.
Some polish liquid and a buffer after spraying should do the trick but yeah never seen a straight mirror finish just from spray without polishing
Would be cool to see some experiments with this.
Yes! 👍
That's a very interesting phallus shaped thing you got there bud.
Not really mirror, still pretty cool. Good stuff!
Some wet sanding and polishing and I think it would be “mirror”
Hmmmm. 🤔 this mirror paint with galaxy, ztp, or zgf hypershift would probably make something pretty unique
Wet sanded and buffed I'll bet itll be a solid mirror finish. Would love to do a candy paint with this as a base
Looks good
Impressive
Did you primer and apply a black base coat? Try it
The age old dilemma of wanting chrome in a spray can.
Not quite there yet, but better than the typical stuff.
Wow
That looks cool. What is it a fancy bed pan?
Now touch it a few times and watch it turn plain silver... Same as molotow I use for model car parts. You can't touch it or clear it or it turns flat silver.
Could you lacquer it to preserve the shine?
Because Instructions are hard....
Thanks for the How Not to be a Professional 😂😂😂
I wonder what this would look like buffed and polished
pretty legit
Like polished steel more than a chrome
With the usual level, clear, wet sand & buff I could see it. Bit like a bedpan at the moment haha
Nice a finex I love the old ones. Have you ever sprayed ghost chrome
I wonder if you gave it a week or so to fully cure if you could buff/polish it and see if that would make it a mirror 🤔
😲 WOW :55 waving hi back
Alsa corp has had this for years, expesive though.
Can you try doing 1,000 or higher wet sand it , and then polish and buff and wax? See if that makes it go full mirror effect 😮😮😮😮😮😮
A little wet sanding, and it should have a mirror finish! 👍
After a good polish and buff she be mint
Not the way you did it... but this is how most paints are. You have to buff it perfectly smooth and even then, it usually doesn't come out right
I hate Chrome personally.
But admittedly, it looks pretty, dang good.
I think the quality of the finished product is influenced by the application process
Maybe just maybe with the right buffing technique someone could get it to that mirror finish. Thanks Fonzie
Do the bmw in dip with bit blue to it will look 🔥
Cloudy, def not *mirror* --haven't yet seen any of these video do a real mirror finish which is disappointing yet helpful to keep me from being pssd off wasting my money buying it. Thanks!
Solid 6/10
Your doing it wrong.
Liquid mirror is to be painted on the reverse side of clear glass leaving the other side a mirror finish.
I want to see this on something clear and see what it looks like on the side that's adhering to the object being painted. It might have the potential to fix game discs that have the top/label ruined and won't play anymore
The data is stored on the shiny part. If the foil label gets damaged it’s done. Scratches can be fixed because the clear is just the body and can be polished. Makes me think. Can you polish scratches off new console disks?
Who would like to see a mirror rolling down the highway? 😮 Paint the whole vehicle in something like this, not just the trim.
Looks like a shinny silver
Spray it on a flat metal surface and after it's dry try to polish it and see if it's any difference.
Revell "Chrom" spray paint is the only "true" chrome paint on the market.
It’s looking in a mirror dimly. 😉
It has its place. If you ever wanted to dip a long term viewer's car, lmk.
Sprayed way to heavy. It was right after the first coat. Pretty sure directions tell you that.
Wet sanding could really bring out the finish
Could i clear coat that after words?
totally thought you were gonna put that on a wall, idk why
My guess would be to buff it as smooth as possible, then multiple clear coats for depth, and give it a show quality finish. You never know...might be ok.
You can’t buff it or clear it. It’s been tried before and failed miserably. Plus that paint is VERY EXPENSIVE 😂
Its a bit hazy with that spray on method but not bad
Good ol newfie chrome.
Nice
A disappointment was more of a mirror when wet than dry
That is as reflective as a prison mirror. Maybe that white/clear pearl a few videos ago …?
I found when I used the spray can version on a protect it came out great until I put a clear coat over it then it turned metallic silver and not chrome
Прикинь, у нас такая же краска в распылительных баллончиках продаётся в магазине. Ничего удивительного.
Think it's more chrome
dunno... I mean kawasaki did a mirror finish on the H2... I don't think it quite lives up to that.
It looks very similar to chrome powder coat
Silver orange 🍊
Not bad. Please show it cleared and finished
That's dope my bro
Looks awesome but do I see a tad of orange peel? Just asking? ✌️😊✌️
It looked better after just the 1st coat, the 2nd layer went on duller.
What is that thing called which he is painting on?? Please anyone help
