YES!! I completely agree, I loved the book ... probably my current favorite of 2024! The characters were my favorite part but so was how she brought everything together by the end, I loved it!
Those are some great books that you have picked out. I have read The Maid and The Women. The Women was my favourite book of 2023. I hope you enjoy them too.
Weyward was good! I enjoyed it. I think it could work for fall or spring. The style reminds me of a more concise Kate Morton, but without the mystery component. It feels a bit like English magical realism to me.
I loved Kaikeyi! It is a retelling. Kaikeyi was the "evil stepmother" in the Ramayana (Hindu mythology) and this is told from her perspective. I highly recommend reading a summary or children's version of the Ramayana first, if you aren't familiar with the story. I've heard people say that Weyward has had trouble finding its audience, because it awkwardly straddles literary/commercial. I can definitely see that! I hope it works out for you. I tend toward more literary and historical fiction (and I welcome a dose of fantasy/magic) and I really enjoyed it.
I read and thoroughly enjoyed the circus train. Was a 4.5 for me. Very unique story and setting.Hope you like it. Bardugo for me is very hit or miss. Loved ninth house however hell bent was awful
I really enjoyed the Fortuna Sworn series. So much so that I ordered the special editions from Fairy Loot. I had never heard of it until Becca and the Books talked about it and her friendship with the author. I'm glad I picked it up. I hope you like it!
You have a great pile of possibilities for the month! I'd say that Weyward is literary fiction with magic. Hope you enjoy it!
That is helpful, thank you!
I picked The Empire of Gold for the color prompt! I really loved it! I really fell in love with all the characters ESPECIALLY in this book.

The Maid is so good! Book 2 in the series is The Mystery Guest and you get lots more background of Molly. So good!
I just finished The Maid and really liked it - excited for the 2nd one!
Love love love your book videos😊
Ahh, thank you!
Me too!
I really enjoyed The Maid. The second one (The Mystery’s Guest) is out now too. I also loved The Cartographers and The Women! Great line up!

Have you read the Veronica Speedwell series? Great books to pick up in between fantasy books in my opinion. I think you might like them.
No, but so many people have recommended them to me that I really need to give them a try!
Let’s read a fate inked in blood together!
YES! Let's do it!
I saw this comment right away. I told Angie in her last video how much I want to start reading fantasy. I am really thinking about that book too!!

If you haven't read Circus Mirandus with your kids yet, it is really good! And it would be a great companion read while reading Circus Train. ;)
Thanks for the recommendation!
