    What is toddle?🤷‍♀️
    We see toddle as a no-code tool for professionals - but accessible to everyone. toddle is built on the battle-proven concepts from major code frameworks like Angular, Vue, and React - but packaged as a visual development platform.

    The fact that the editor itself is made by Toddle is INSANE. I've never rushed to signup so fast!

    For easier understanding, Who’s the main competitor of toddle?

    • @toddledev
      @toddledev  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      toddle is an alternative to web frameworks like React and Vue. There are other visual development platforms that have some of the same capabilites as toddle, including WeWeb and bubble.io

    Impressive. This is going to allow me to build an app that has been trapped in my mental workshop. Huge thanks! Very clean content.

    This is very similar to node based editing in 3d modelling and game engines like blender/ unreal engine/ gaea etc. I find this approach very clean its great that you decided to do this.
    Unity has integration with C# for me who was beginner at that time the whole thing made my learning journey so much easier. Separation of concerns and isolating UI part to visual editor and adding in functionality with code is amazing.
    Quick question.
    Where is the code. if toddle had a button to open in VS Code or other editors. and if users can switch back and forth between Editor for the code and Toddle for the UI that would be awesome. If this had integration with something like Tailwind and HTMX than 99% of backend developers who dont want to learn UI design would appreaciate a tool like this.
    i could write a Rest API in golang and have a front end in minutes this would be so great for prototyping. I dont want to center a div ever again.

      toddle was in many ways inspired by 3d tools like blender. It didn't really make sense that you could have visual tools in 3d but not in 2d?
      toddle "code" is stored in JSON, It does not have any other textual representation like normal programming languages.
      The earliest prototypes of toddle was actually a mix of UI builder and code, but as I used it more and more I realized that it was much faster to just stay in the visual builder for everything.
      You can add custom Actions and Formulas using javascript, but most of the time it just slows you down.

      @toddle are you at least able to export and view the full code base of what you’re working on?

    • @toddledev
      @toddledev  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if you like: toddle.dev/.toddle/projects/andreas/branches/main/checkout
      here is the data for an example project.

    • @Wildenfree
      @Wildenfree ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toddledev thanks for following up! I see the JSON data as mentioned 💯 that makes sense because I imagine most people could use Toddle exclusively for building out web components, but never officially publishing the web app through the tool, which is certainly helpful in its own right.
      To go beyond that though, say for instance if we chose to build out a complete web app with Toddle, could we also export the relevant HTML, CSS & JS?

    • @toddledev
      @toddledev  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @@Wildenfree No there is currently no way to export the full application.

    is possible to convert the site i made using toddle into html and css?

    • @toddledev
      @toddledev  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is currently no way to export HTML and CSS files if that is what you are asking. toddle is built as an integrated platform including editor, version control and hosting.

      @@toddledev Are there plans on your roadmap to allow for exporting of projects? While I understand the business model with an "all-in-one" solution, I'm not a fan of vendor lock-in and would like to see it usable simply as an editor with the ability to host where I desire.

    • @toddledev
      @toddledev  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @@DanWalshTV We dont currently have any plans to support exporting projects as code. I absolutely understand the dislike of vendor lock-in and I feel the same way. Unfortunately exporting the code is not a "solution" to this problem, since you still need to use the tool for making any updates to your site.

    How easy is it to build a form editor like tally.so in toddle ?

    • @toddledev

      That depends on you. We had a few in the community who ran into limitations with Typeform.
      They built a Typeform copy in a few days.
