Still my favorite performance of this EVER. Just so much chemistry and genius acting. I especially love the part when Usnavi is freaking out and Vanessa stops him and says “and it’s gonna be okay...” It just felt so real in that moment! Great job to the two actors here, so much subtlety that makes it feel like I’m witnessing a secretive moment between two real people. Truly brilliant; this will forever be my favorite!
that was brilliant! one of the best (besides the original Broadway) performances I've seen! In The Heights was one of the options for our next winter musicals for school and i was hoping to land the role of Vanessa. but i may not have the voice for it and i think they removed it...

the way vanessa bites her lip when sonny is leaving annoys me so much-- like, he may be a kid, but he can have opinions and emotions too, and these characters completely ignore that. petition for sonny to be taken seriously.
I think it might have just been the actress laughing at him dropping the money but i do get what you're saying, in general sonny isn't really taken that seriously

When sonny dropped the money and had to pick it back up that way was so in character. Great improv.
