Hi, my name is Benjamin, I'm from Argentina. sorry for my English. I need your help. I can't transmit. The "button" transmit and receive is off. What could be the problem? thank you.
+Blake Scott I try with the last update and this is not work. I have here one old version, i believe this old unit dont have the WIFI chipset. To solve the problem i need to send this unit to headquarter in Italy and stay three months or more without my car. the office in Brazil has no other unit to replace, I feel cheated by the manufacturer.
I got it working , my wifi unit in the house did not see it , so I put a wifi adaptor directly to computer and it did see it, thanks for your help , by the way I love the Mychron5
lobuk516, Our WiFi communication is not designed to be used as live telemetry. The range is the same as you would see with standard WiFi devices and it will vary with where the data system is mounted in the race vehicle and the quality of the computer you are using on the other end. Early tests have shown distances around 300ft, plenty of distance to allow for normal configuration, calibration, and downloading in your shop or at the race track.
How do you get into the Wifi settings as when I click on it on the latest version of RS3, I get a pop up window saying " enable if Windows is running as virtualised on MACOs" nothing else. No wifi and Properties tab like in the video above.
Tim, there is a small 'WiFi' icon in the upper right corner of the Race Studio 3 software. You can quickly select your WiFi network from the list provided after clicking on the icon. If there is a password required, a dialog box will open for you to enter it. You can also use your computers WiFi tools to connect as the WiFi enabled AiM device is viewed as another access point. We will be creating a new WiFi LearnFast video soon to cover any changes in our Race Studio 3 software process from the original video linked here: th-cam.com/video/bjhHfYvmb-w/w-d-xo.html
Make sure WiFi is turned on in your MyChron5 menu, and that Access Point is chosen - to create a WiFi network. The name of the network created by your MyChron5 is at the bottom center of the MyChron5 when powered on.
Blake, the RGB Shiftlights on the MyChron5 are user definable directly from the Menu => Config Params => LED Setup option on the MyChron5. From this menu you can customize the top LED Bar for shift lights or Predictive Laptiming as well as the Temp Alarm LED's. If you have more questions, give us a call at 1-800-718-9090
The range is only a couple hundred feet in ideal conditions, so no, you cannot use WiFi to see live data while it goes around the track. Without discussing multiple repeaters.
The message about a Mac is found under WiFi Settings. If Wifi is turned on on you MyChron5, and your MyChron5 is powered up, you should see it as an available WiFi network in Windows. It should also be available via the WiFi icon menu in RaceStudio3. If you're not seeing this, please call our tech support line from 7am-7pm M-F at 1-800-718-9090.
