My guess is that Shaun has been preaching about how to ride with low risk for years. Nautique makes one of the biggest wakes out there. I think his goal is to make the sport more accessible and grow the sport. I guess he feels it's hard to do that on one of the elite and most expensive tow boats out there. Looking forward to you mixing it up.
Honestly pretty accurate in some of my decision regarding being more accessible. I want to show ALL types of boats and tow craft you can have behind no matter your budget. Other factors for sure but that was a major one.
This is huge. There are so many people who love being on the water but can’t fork out $250k for an amazing wake/wave. It would be great to see how a rider like yourself is able to get the most out of a budget boat like a Heyday or MB. Can’t wait to see this content!
This is great news for all those that have other brands. Having the freedom to help jet boat or any other owners set the boat up for maximum fun on the water is something I’ve been wanting to see. Congratulations on the past 25 and best of luck on this future opportunity! We love watching and hearing your honest opinions.
Phew, 25 years is a long time! Can't wait to see the next pieces of content. Get'cher self behind some of these $10-20k older skiboats that us everyman are trying to pull our kids with ;)
Shaun, I saw this on the Nautique socials and was bummed, however after seeing and hearing your reasoning for the change I'm stoked for you and the industry in general. Making your years of knowledge and experience available to anyone wanting to listen without the bounds of a contract sounds awesome! I had a great time working with you during my time at Nautique, and I wish you all the best on your new adventure!
I hope maybe this will be a wake up call for manufacturers. The path they are on is not sustainable, and it seems so obvious that it will lead to more harm than good for the industry. Kudos for you for having the pulse of the customers and enthusiasts!
I love this!!!! You doing reviews across all boats is going to be some of the best stuff. Pros like you never get to ride across all boats and give honest reviews. I really hope you give honest reviews which is hard to do. Overall very excited.
Oh man! I Associate Nautiques with Shaun automatically. Nautiques you should gift Shaun a G as a 25year retirement gift for his service to the brand. Good luck Shaun! As long as you’re posting vids, I’m watching them.
When I read this on Nautique's social media pages, I was super sad! Going to miss the Nautique walkthroughs (I even remember when Adam Wensink used to do them). Same goes for a descent wake for wakeboarding, wich budget friendly boat is the way to go and how do we set it up? Looking forward to all your New stuff! Cheers!
Congrats on 25 years and making this big decision - sure it has been quite a ride! Would be cool to see what can be done realistically on a wakeboard behing an outboard motor, like a Yamaha/Mercury 125HP engine...

Shaun do you think one of the reasons for the separation is because of overall wakeboard/surf boat sells (profits) being down? There’s been a lot of liquidations amongst the big 3 manufacturers lately.
@ we only picked it up this year. I’m having trouble getting the right push/setup of the wake. I haven’t been using the plug’n’play either as the previous owner didn’t use it. I think it might be required for the extra wave. It’s hard to know as I’ve never surfed until now. Do you surf behind yours?
@@jacobbell-chambers8278 had ours for 12 months. The kids surf and love it, I can’t find enough push for myself. Getting some plug and play fitted this weekend hopefully that will give me some more push, should probably lose a couple of kgs too 🤣. Bloody love the boat thou!!

Wow that is a bold move! Good luck and a great choice. Not really fond of the direction of nautic has gone. Full wake surfing. Boring and way too expensive. When I was wakeboarding all you needed was a $30,000 ski boat, a tower(preferably from my old sponsor pro flight)and some fat sacs. The whole industry is wacked out of its mind. If you work enough to afford one. You have no time to use it. There is literally no more than $10,000-$20,000 in extra parts and pieces in the boat. Yet they cost $100,000 more.
So true. The newest boats are soooo expensive and over the top. What happened to a good $50k new ski boat? The new mega-yacht-wake-boats do not excite me, even if I had $300k to drop on a boat that I can use 1mo out of the year.
I hear ya Paul and while there are some very expensive boats out there that are super nice, you don't have to spend that much money to have a good time on the water and I want to show everyone, no matter the budget, what can work for them.
No sir. Wasn't the case at all. But grateful for so many years with them . My vision is to open up the world of towed watersports to more people by giving honest content of how to make different boats work for any budget and still have a good time.
It is surprising to me how connected Nautique (I guess was) with your early content creation and long-term agenda. Nothing you produced screamed 'nautique nautique nautique' (to me at least) and maybe thats why this split is happening? Either way, are new luxury boat sales really made off youtube sponsorships? Stick to what you enjoy, find a way to produce the content you want (awesome first step!), without a boat endorsement or sponsor. Its hard to present an 'accessible' view of wakeboarding today from one manufacturer alone (i.e. heyday, axis, etc all tried it...and quickly their agenda's and pricing changed). The only way Wakeboarding is accessible to others is through community programs, outreach, friendships, and passing the handle. I get those things might not pay the bills....yet....but maybe they could? Tight Lines and carve on brotha \^^/
I do my best to create content that points people towards staying active while showing them techniques and products. I know the benefit of getting on the water with family and friends and will continue to do my best to give people the tools to do the same
I’m excited to see what all you go ride behind! Would love to see a comparison of current 25-40k range used wake boats. It seems like the next reasonable step up from an old school inboard 6 seater ski boats that a lot of people start on. Trust in the Lord, you got this!

First?
Nailed it Jason! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
I hope this wasn’t a gracious way to say that Nautique dropped you
No sir. Wasn't the case at all. But grateful for so many years with them . My vision is to open up the world of towed watersports to more people by giving honest content of how to make different boats work for any budget and still have a good time.
Lift efoil
Let's see how you would setup a outboard engine boat! Lots of us can't afford or don't want a dedicated wake boat
Hopefully will get the chance to!
I know the benefit of getting on the water with family and friends and will continue to do my best to give people the tools to do the same
I’m in winter garden if you want to ride behind a supra and teach me some tricks
Got your email Hadar! You should have a reply in your inbox but here's the link to my coaching page shaunmurray.com/coaching/
Get behind a Heyday!
Right on and thanks for the idea Clint!
The Nautique walkthrough videos won’t be the same without you.🥲😂
I’m excited to see what all you go ride behind! Would love to see a comparison of current 25-40k range used wake boats. It seems like the next reasonable step up from an old school inboard 6 seater ski boats that a lot of people start on.
Trust in the Lord, you got this!
Definitely hoping to getting into some boats in that range!
