My 3rd baby also just turned 7 weeks and I had the same conversation with a friend today about how it seems like other moms have it together and don’t even seem like they are in the postpartum season, she had good encouragement and this was encouraging, too-especially to hear you feel the same way. Yes, I remember calculating happy wake time between feedings. Sometimes if the baby was napping a little longer I’d think I might sneak in a little nap, too. BUT as soon as I’d close my eyes they’d start to wake up 🙃Did this happen a ton with anyone else??

So enjoy hanging out with you! Did get cards out this year but not the Christmas tree. I took a pass and used one of my mom's antique ceramic trees instead of the full-blown fancy tree. As a pastor's wife, the season can be a bit overwhelming, but still savoring the little moments to celebrate Jesus! ❤
I went and found that same candle! I figure after the candle melts down the mercury glass is so pretty. You can set tea lights or fairy lights in it and still enjoy the glass. The red also works for other holidays.
I have 1 of 8 that liked to be in her carseat. She loves to be going all the time. Only one. You will never regret newborn slow. Its beautiful. You would regret rushing through to keep up with anyone else. ❤
Simple is key for me and my family right now. My fiancé has a very physically demanding, stressful job, and so I really want to keep it nice and quiet for him. I decorated his house nicely but minimally, and we have decided on the Christmas meal menu. Christmas Day will be his only day off, so calm and quiet is special to us. The good thing is is adult children and grandchildren understand his high stress job situation and they’ll just visit at a different time. Watching Christmas movies ( probably The Chosen Christmas special ) with the fireplace on is everything to us. Just peace and quiet, Lord willing. Happy Holidays to everyone! Merry Christmas!

Minimal decorating here this year. You are such a strong mama. When you were telling your days of now, Brought back so many memories. My third son was eight weeks old at christmas that year. I had three under the age of five. I wish I knew what I hear from you now back then. I tried to be that super mama and stay up all night. Cause everything had to be handmade or sewn. I will tell you when I had my daughter. My last one at age thirty nine, I started to learn it doesn't have to be perfect. But the younger me didn't know that. You are woman of wisdom in so many, many ways!!! I didn't know the word be still well enough. When I was a younger mom? It was you always had to be busy so if you were sitting down, your hands had to be busy doing something, Making something or even organizing a drawer. Praise the Lord He never gives up on us. I chuckled to myself, any reason to open a gift early. LOL Lovely gifts. Yay for you! I had retired 6 years ago and ended up agreeing to take on a couple contracts this year. Now I'm stressing to get all of my cards made. I hand make all my cards Those that had to be mailed have made it out of the door. Only four more to be made for family. I'd be forgiven (my older grandson has already told me not to worry and just make him a birthday card in Feb) if they didn't get made, but it's joy to my heart when I do get them made. All three of my babes needed a lot. They did eventually sleep through the night. And dad took over the bed time tucking in so I don't do anything but give them a hug and a kiss and send them off. The first few years was very much survival around here and they still are complicated kids but in different ways. Definitely not boring around here. 😂 But also I know they all need me as a mom. So it's a perfect fit even if I am anything but perfect. 💗
My baby still isn’t sleeping well and we are 10 months in! My first was a perfect sleeper😅 in survival mode still… we didn’t do the advent book this year, our declarations are lazy, no Christmas card either. I needed to hear this!
Midnight Mom Devotional has a fantastic book with short prayers for other mamas. Also a supportive Facebook group of praying mamas. My needs to be held colic baby is about to turn one. The pregnancy was my worst, every two months after she was born it was another challenge. That devotional and group helped me get out of my own head. They post and pray over each other in the night. I would sing old hymns and just hold her while she slept. We have a wacky playlist of rock and roll and tribal/folk lullaby songs.
My babies are now adults, but just now I’m in bed with COVID and so behind for Christmas. Thank you for those nice and soothing words. Have a very merry Christmas with your beautiful family, Diana.

This year has been a tough one. Not enough of me to go around or hours in the day. Everything is flying by and I have fallen short in all the ways. I wanted to be ready for Christmas a head of time so I could enjoy the season.... Hasn't happened yet. I am guessing I will be doing a lot of the Christmas things after Christmas this year.
Thank you Diana! I have a 10 week old (#4) and my oldest is only 5 as well. It is sooooo hard!! I toyed with the idea of not even wrapping the gifts and just putting them under the tree because I couldn’t get it done!! I’m actually so ready to do away with gifts and Santa and just make it all about Christ (because it is!) I seriously need to step back and just let the Lord fill my heart with His peace.
You are fine! You are always awesome! Your baby is perfect! My 3rd was born 3 weeks after I separated from her dad, which was 11 days before Christmas. I was living in Texas and my parents wanted me to move so they could help me adult. So I flew across 4 states with my 3 kids when she was barely under a month. Then my moving truck was weeks late and my new place wasn't ready yet anyway, and my sister with special needs was going to be living downstairs and she's a thief. It was hard, but Christmas still happened and it was amazing. Your Savior wants you to focus on your baby right now and those needs as well as focusing on the reason for the season. The gifts are fabulous. The cards will get sent. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Once you get a Christmas label list into your computer you can update it yearly and use it every year. Saves a lot of time every year. Giving gifts to others is my love language and a great joy during the Christmas season.

Do you read the first comments, or can you track if TH-cam is pushing your video or not? If you would be willing to give us a 'behind the scenes of TH-cam', I would appreciate this a lot. I find that I have more empathy when it comes to things like e.g. clickbait titles (that many content creators despise but that you sometimes HAVE to put under a video so that it even shows) if I know why this is necessary. I was just talking to a friend about how little days there are until Christmas and how it doesn’t feel like Christmas at all. I will say I know many people feel the same but are still forcing the lights up and the cards through the mail. So don’t compare your empty yard and Christmas card to those. We didn’t put any lights up this year outside: they’re still in the attic and that’s okay. We had to pencil in a time for all of us to decorate the Christmas tree.
I loved this video, Diana, I totally get where you are in this season of life, my little boy was extremely temperamental lol. I'm in charge of our church Christmas program, and it's certainly overwhelming but I'm giving it to Jesus for His glory. Thank you for that advice and prayer.

Minimal decorating here this year. You are such a strong mama. When you were telling your days of now, Brought back so many memories. My third son was eight weeks old at christmas that year. I had three under the age of five. I wish I knew what I hear from you now back then. I tried to be that super mama and stay up all night. Cause everything had to be handmade or sewn. I will tell you when I had my daughter. My last one at age thirty nine, I started to learn it doesn't have to be perfect. But the younger me didn't know that. You are woman of wisdom in so many, many ways!!! I didn't know the word be still well enough. When I was a younger mom? It was you always had to be busy so if you were sitting down, your hands had to be busy doing something, Making something or even organizing a drawer. Praise the Lord He never gives up on us. I had women many years ago start to tell me it's okay to be still, And in that God does mighty things. Thank you, Diana for not only encouraging me. Seeing your precious little one reminded me at Christmas time 2 different years 2 of my sons were baby Jesus in the live nativity. When you talked about a pacifier, my youngest son wouldn't settle down without his. That year, I was Mary, the comments afterward about baby Jesus didn't have a pacifier. My kids didn't sleep through the night till they were nine months old, Listening to you Diana. I was reminiscing so much. Oh how you are so wise, Pacing yourself getting that rest when you can. Beautiful gifts you received, A good smelling soap, oh yes. As I am listening to this I am drinking peppermint tea. Yes, Lord, you are the reason we celebrate ❤

I chuckled to myself, any reason to open a gift early. LOL Lovely gifts. Yay for you! I had retired 6 years ago and ended up agreeing to take on a couple contracts this year. Now I'm stressing to get all of my cards made. I hand make all my cards Those that had to be mailed have made it out of the door. Only four more to be made for family. I'd be forgiven (my older grandson has already told me not to worry and just make him a birthday card in Feb) if they didn't get made, but it's joy to my heart when I do get them made. God will redeem the time, He always does. May you be blessed abundantly this year. Enjoy all the holiday festivities with the joy of the Lord.

My oldest is in school and it feels like there is concerts or activities every day 😅 You're not alone mine never did take a pacifier on their own either :/ and my first absolutely hated the car seat 😆

All three of my babes needed a lot. They did eventually sleep through the night. And dad took over the bed time tucking in so I don't do anything but give them a hug and a kiss and send them off. The first few years was very much survival around here and they still are complicated kids but in different ways. Definitely not boring around here. 😂 But also I know they all need me as a mom. So it's a perfect fit even if I am anything but perfect. 💗
5 crowns is fun! If the older kids are familiar with games, they can catch on to it pretty quickly.

My baby still isn’t sleeping well and we are 10 months in! My first was a perfect sleeper😅 in survival mode still… we didn’t do the advent book this year, our declarations are lazy, no Christmas card either. I needed to hear this!

Midnight Mom Devotional has a fantastic book with short prayers for other mamas. Also a supportive Facebook group of praying mamas. My needs to be held colic baby is about to turn one. The pregnancy was my worst, every two months after she was born it was another challenge. That devotional and group helped me get out of my own head. They post and pray over each other in the night. I would sing old hymns and just hold her while she slept. We have a wacky playlist of rock and roll and tribal/folk lullaby songs.
My babies are now adults, but just now I’m in bed with COVID and so behind for Christmas. Thank you for those nice and soothing words. Have a very merry Christmas with your beautiful family, Diana.

This year has been a tough one. Not enough of me to go around or hours in the day. Everything is flying by and I have fallen short in all the ways. I wanted to be ready for Christmas a head of time so I could enjoy the season.... Hasn't happened yet. I am guessing I will be doing a lot of the Christmas things after Christmas this year.

Thank you Diana! I have a 10 week old (#4) and my oldest is only 5 as well. It is sooooo hard!! I toyed with the idea of not even wrapping the gifts and just putting them under the tree because I couldn’t get it done!! I’m actually so ready to do away with gifts and Santa and just make it all about Christ (because it is!) I seriously need to step back and just let the Lord fill my heart with His peace.

My 3rd was born 3 weeks after I separated from her dad, which was 11 days before Christmas. I was living in Texas and my parents wanted me to move so they could help me adult. So I flew across 4 states with my 3 kids when she was barely under a month. Then my moving truck was weeks late and my new place wasn't ready yet anyway, and my sister with special needs was going to be living downstairs and she's a thief. It was hard, but Christmas still happened and it was amazing. Your Savior wants you to focus on your baby right now and those needs as well as focusing on the reason for the season.

Once you get a Christmas label list into your computer you can update it yearly and use it every year. Saves a lot of time every year. Giving gifts to others is my love language and a great joy during the Christmas season.

Thumbs up for changing the title! 👍🏻 I'm so looking forward to Christmas, and I found that this year the focus on a lot of my favourite TH-cam channels was how hard it can be. 🙈 I'm always relieved when I find that the content of a video is not as sinister as the title or thumbnail suggests. 😅 What I would find really interesting is what causes these changes you make? Do you read the first comments, or can you track if TH-cam is pushing your video or not? If you would be willing to give us a 'behind the scenes of TH-cam', I would appreciate this a lot. I find that I have more empathy when it comes to things like e.g. clickbait titles (that many content creators despise but that you sometimes HAVE to put under a video so that it even shows) if I know why this is necessary. In any case - have a wonderful, blessed Christmas! ☃️🎄🌟❤
I was just talking to a friend about how little days there are until Christmas and how it doesn’t feel like Christmas at all. I will say I know many people feel the same but are still forcing the lights up and the cards through the mail. So don’t compare your empty yard and Christmas card to those. We didn’t put any lights up this year outside: they’re still in the attic and that’s okay. We had to pencil in a time for all of us to decorate the Christmas tree.
I loved this video, Diana, I totally get where you are in this season of life, my little boy was extremely temperamental lol. I'm in charge of our church Christmas program, and it's certainly overwhelming but I'm giving it to Jesus for His glory. Thank you for that advice and prayer.
