- Courtland Sutton is not attending the Denver Broncos voluntary offseason program and has expressed that he wants a new contract. After being the sole producer for the Broncos offense and Sean Payton last season, is it more valuable for the Broncos to extend Sutton or could he be traded before or during the NFL Draft?

I've actually had the impression that the re-signing of LJ Humphrey earlier in the offseason provided the Broncos flexibility to move on from Sutton.
I say that with respect from the aspect of Sutton as a leader and a player because he is an awesome guy to have around. But let's face it, if Sean Payton values WRs that can make plays after the catch and break some tackles in the open field, you'd be hard pressed to argue that Sutton is a good fit there. Humphrey played the Sutton role in Stidham's first start against LAC and provided a spark with his 54 yard touchdown grab that quite frankly, we hadn't seen from any Broncos receiver all year.
I would hate to see Sutton go, but it's plausible that he could be packaged with perhaps our 2025 1st and maybe another future pick to get back into the end of the first round to grab a QB like Nix. If that were the case, I'd be 100% on board with trading him(not to mention the financial implications).
I do believe Sutton would be a better fit with a contending team that already has their franchise QB solidified, and can be a safety blanket for(Buffalo?). Rather than him be a focal point of an offense that looks to get younger, more explosive, and create after the catch as the team targets a young QB to develop. Just my 2 cents!

Aloha Broncos Country, Cody, and Sayre! It's been a while and I'm excited for the upcoming draft. The Broncos are built on a team basis. This is not a time to be a diva and ask for more money when we've let go one of our beloved players go and we are getting out of the Wilson fiasco. This draft is loaded with a lot of wide receivers and we can save a ton of money letting Sutton go or using him as a trade piece, maybe get a second or a third. Now is the time to get things right and build that culture that we are accustomed to! Let's go Broncos!

I agree with both guys but I’m leaning more towards letting him go. He was good last year and deserves the money but if we are looking for a new QB, then let’s get the receivers that are going to be around for the next day 3 years that are young let them play and build with who the next QB is going to be. Sutton had a good connection with Wilson but who knows how he will be with another guy? He wasn’t good for two years coming off his ACL, he was dropping passes and was absent at many times. He was clutch last year for us but if we can keep him for another year or two and maybe give him some more guaranteed money and it’s good for the team go for it but if he is going to be a distraction then move on.

If the broncos trade cortland, that would be the dumbest thing they could do. Broncos need to quit letting go of talented players and find a way to keep them. We have huge needs, in many areas, getting rid of an absolute beast like cortland would do nothing but create another huge gap in our roster, one that won't be filled in the same kind of production with a rookie. Sorry but the qb in denver, whoever it is, is going to need all the weapons we have and then some. Courtland will make a rookie. The qb's transition to the nfl goes a lot better then if there's another rookie in that spot. Don't be dumb broncos with this. You have made enough dumb moves this off-season allready.

Love the way you guys can see the silver lining in every scenario. I don't believe its remotely realistic but hey. Its something 😂. You guys have to keep this up for another 250 or so days this season and I think we need a Vegas line on when we'll get a promo featuring smiles that quickly devolves into a profanity laced tirade about the Broncos before the technical difficulties screen goes up and we get a countdown screen 😂. I'm betting it happens by week 13.
I feel like looking at both sides of the coin is the most valid thing to do. Why just be negative and piss on every decision they make and say that the sky is falling? Fans don’t like that. Out of every outlet, I feel we do a pretty good job of being objective
@@LockedOnBroncos Eeeeemmmmmmm. I'm not sure I'd say that. You guys are overwhelmingly positive which I don't have an issue with if it makes sense. I don't see a lot of reason to be optimistic. If George Paton had some control I'd feel better. As it is a egomaniac has complete control. When Dan Reeves was coaching I didn't have much faith. When Shanahan became OC I was more positive. When he became HC I was waiting for the ring. My philosophy of the game is different. I liked Shula because he built around the players. I don't like a shove my way down your throat guy who can't adjust. I feel I recognize talent and the idea that we can walk away from Juedy and Sutton and replace them easily is unrealistic. I think you guys are being optimistic about things we shouldn't be optimistic about. That's all.
Do whatever it takes to keep Court. He's my favorite Bronco, and I think he is uber valuable to this team. He's not just a WR, he's a leader with the heart of a lion. He's one of the few bright spots on our roster. Pay the man! He deserves it! KEEP HIM AS A BRONCO!

Despite having a big question mark at QB I am feeling better overall about the team than two years ago. Payton sure brings positivity and a clear direction for his team. I am just seeing more wins coming. Please do not let us down Sean.

I like sutton ...however, his value is good to trade, his age is up there, wants to get paid, just had ankle surgery, and he doesn't want to be here for the rebuild. I don't blame him for wanting out so do him a service trade him and also we get hopefully get a 3rd. Reset at wr bc will get rookie contract.

I'm sure we'll get 10 or more touchdowns out of our 3rd wr. It seems every other week we have to replace another position. We went from having a pretty good receiver corp to having Tim Patrick who I still have high hopes for and Mimms who I expect good things from but no real 1 and maybe just a 2. Another guy probably gone in his prime for less than we used to get him. If we were constantly trading number 1 draft choices for during the draft for 3rd rounders or 5th and 6th rounders you'd want that GM gone. Well we have a coach doing exactly that. He has to be put on an exceptionally short lease and maybe George Paton should be given more control of the roster. Because people aren't leaving or wanting out or new contracts because of George Paton. It's because of Sean Payton.

If he can be used as part of a package to be able to trade into the 2nd Rd, then I say trade him. If not, he's too valuable to just let walk for a late round pick or nothing at all.

Yes they need to pay him he is the No. 1 WR especially now Judy is traded. I think he may be ready to go though the way the Broncos did Russel Wilson that looked bad. I am no longer on the Broncos Wagon would love to see Sutton traded to Pittsburgh to join Wilson.
