I befriended a man 2 years older than I who was from a small country in east Africa who had been wounded in war several times and had a hard life. Super nice, super friendly and he was a janitor here in the US. There were some younger Black American men where we worked that were giving him a hard time when he was collecting trash one day, and nearly took it too far as they almost learned more about him the hard way. They didn’t know this man was a killer and wasn’t even the slightest bit intimidated or afraid of them. They took his kindness for weakness not knowing he could take their lives from them and it would just be another Tuesday for him. Be careful whose buttons you push.

I'm confused. In this story, being made to sleep on the top bunk is disrespectful. So didn't the old man in turn disrespect the young man. Jesus washed the feet of the poor. Muhammad chopped off the heads of those who wouldn't kneel.

Gmulah, it's called being brainwashed. He likely joined Islam foe protection and instead of admitting to himself he is a coward and weak, he convinced himself that his imam is humble and wise and thats why he joined. Unable to admit the truth of his actions to himself. He convinced himself his actions are wise beyond his own understanding. That way he doesn't have to confront reality.
There are two different things here. One, he is a Mujahedeen. A guerrilla fighter. Then he is an Imam. A man with a degree in theology appointed by authorities to work in a mosque. And a Mujahedeen can be an Imam apparently. Even more so in prison I guess.
One point he didn't make was which one of them was in the cell first I am assuming it was the elderly Muslim because he already had a following in the prison if you never been to prison respect and disrespect is very serious THAT'S ALL A MAN HAS LEFT IN PRISON AND IT WILL GET U DELETED SUPER FAST
Being a Muslim that spent 20 years behind the wall myself, it saddens me to hear that the Muslim community has a BROTHER that would've took a life behind a top bunk. If the BROTHER was unable to get on the top bunk, humility and fear of ALLAH would have told him to lay on the floor,IMAM or not.
Muhammad murdered someone because he felt insulted. Muhammad kept black slaves. The facts are there. You either ignore what doesn’t fit in, or you conclude what I and many others already concluded decades ago: without lies, Islam dies.

What I don't like is just cause you someone doesn't mean your someone to me. But I would never disrespected anyone in the first place if he was already on the bottom bunk. Rather I be old or young. Not no tough guy but be damned if I let someone breathe after saying some shit like that just cause he feels I should move for whoever or whatever he is
I befriended a man 2 years older than I who was from a small country in east Africa who had been wounded in war several times and had a hard life.
