Used to go to donnington in the 1980s for the monsters of rock festival, it was only on one day drive up Friday, party Friday night, concert Saturday, drive home ( hung over) Sunday. Originally the campsite was not fenced in so we could wander over adjoining fields and woodland, and local farmers would dump massive piles of wood for camp fires, not allowed now though H&S gone mad.
Guys I only came on here to look for Download band highlights and this little beauty popped up. Phenomenal job on the video. Felt like I was back there for a minute! Don’t change the structure of your videos ever… they’re perfect. A perfect mix of fun, banter but genuine reviews of the music coming in too. I was there on Saturday to see Metallica and apart from the occasional Lars mistake I really enjoyed them. The sound was far better closer in as well, which is worth mentioning as you guys appeared to be stood some way back from the action.
I was stood a decent way back for both metallica sets and I thought it sounded great, it was just lars messing up that was annoying. I definitely thought the 2nd set was far superior and they played amazingly that day. I felt close to the right hand side of main stage sounded awful all festival could barely hear pendulum or architects 🤔
Your review was so accurate. I left after 4 songs of Metallica, Friday was best of British and absolute smashed it out the park. Bring me set was incredible. I'd have been happy with 2 bring me sets. One with new stuff and one with older stuff. Absolutely brilliant week
I know you say it wasn't oversold but I overheard the event stewards at my camp actually talking to eachother about how it was oversold, at least camping plus. They came round at 8am on the thursday asking us all to move our tents to make more room and ended up putting people on the outer areas which were meant to be kept clear for ambulances (we were told we couldn't sit there because of that reason) then we got back from the arena and it was jam packed. They were also talking about possibly moving people to another camp and letting them use the showers and toilets as long as they show their camping plus wristbands. Also started talking about it being a fire hazard because of how close together the tents were and had testers come in and do checks to see if they were adhering to health and safety regulations. Was all a bit mental haha. Regardless, I had the time of my life. Loved reliving it through your vlog, thanks!

That was me for years mate camped out at every MainStage for headliners I absolutely loved it. Wouldn’t do it now I’ve seen everyone still alive that I want to see so now I’d be more of a back yard miller haha

I'd like to see you run a competition for one of your followers to join you for a festival. I love that you're getting to do what you love with a solid group of mates and a lot of people would kill for that! Also, you should try new types of alcohol each time and properly review them, e.g. I love Dragon Soop; It annihilates your insides but gives you a buzz and keeps you awake. I know you've had Four Loko in the past so it's probably similar.
Agree with Metallica being off on Thursday but on Saturday they were much better. And the sound was great further down. But love your content as always and great to actually see you guys in the flesh on the way of the guest area. Danny even liked my Empress t-shirt (the band I play drums in) so big thanks for that. You're a sound bunch of folks.

As for metallica, the Thursday was a bit dodgy and was some sound issues but I was right at the front on Saturday and it was unbelievable. Those towers must not be designed to work in open air as all their other shows are in stadiums so will have something to contain the sound sort of. All in all an unbelievable weekend and can’t wait for next year. Ps where’s cleasby these days ?

Awesome vid as always guys. That vape queue in the arena was a natural wonder of the world and could be seen from space! We found that the sound of Metallica on Thursday night was a bit rubbish and we thought it was because of the cross wind but we definitely thought it was much better on Saturday. I think they had issues with some of the towers as we moved over towards the access platform and found the sound was much better there.
Kept an eye out for yous all weekend to find yous were not only in the same camp as me but less than a 30 sec walk through the tents. Was hoping to thank yous in person but since watching the download 2019 video you did I have been way more motivated to not only go down and enjoy the festival but to enjoy live acts way more after seeing the way yous enjoyed it and I have seen so many more bands because of it.
Great video! Gutted to not be there this year. If you're going to keep up the amount of festivals you do be kind to yourself and get that luxury experience. You've earned it. Although mb is awesome I actually missed razzy in this video he needs more screen time.

Me and my partner met at Download 2023, and we are going again this year! I was a twat and took to much stuff, but thought I'd be alright because the coach wouldn't get stuck 2 miles away from the festival... Oh wait 😅 So, thanks to Download, Big Green Coach, and traffic jams, I met the most wonderful man who was lovely enough to help a poor lass with too much shiet, and we are both very happy! And yes, he had a few pints on me because of that 😂 Thought you lot would like the story, and I hope many more memories are at the next one🤘

After years of watching TPD, finally met some of the group on Saturday as we were re-entering the festival and considering how hot and shattered they seemed, they were so lovely. I went to Download 2012 with my dad in an RV when I was a wee teen. Nothing like seeing The Prodigy do their thing on that massive centre stage.

Fun story, my tent is in the background of most of your camp shots and I literally had no idea you guys were so close to me. Barely spent any time in camp anyway as was in the arena all day. Great video as always

After years of watching TPD, finally met some of the group on Saturday as we were re-entering the festival and considering how hot and shattered they seemed, they were so lovely. Now after watching the vid, Danny must of felt shocking, but he was still so nice and up for a chat. Hope hes doing well after what happened x
