THIS DUDE IS DEFINITION OF TALENT.
It's crazy, I watched this video back in 2009, and fell in love with Dub FX.
Now, three years later, I wake up with this song stuck in my head.
As a musician, it really impacted me.
Crazy how the same song can mean so many different things depending on what stage of your life you're in.
In 2012, I was 22 years old and lost and backpacking through Europe (I'm American). I met a Danish girl my first night in Copenhagen that decided I had to come home with her. I ended up staying with her for a month, in large part because we spent that following first day getting to know each other and really connecting, and at some point she insisted that I let her show me something on TH-cam that she thought I would love.
She showed me this video.
Needless to say, though I will most likely never see her again, I fucking love her for that and for my lifelong love of beatboxing/looping/DubFX and all the ways I think differently about the world that I didn't before. Videos like this - when amazing humans express their passion through art - can change lives in the most roundabout ways, and this video honestly did that for me. Changed my life.
Keep doing you, Dub FX. You're brilliant. Flower Fairy, too.

This is a timeless performance captured in a profoundly beautiful way. This video is very poetic. Here is a man singing about how he is finally going to pursuit his dream, and then watching him put his soul out there is one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen. It is very obvious from the moment he starts singing that he was born to do that. It’s remarkable.
It is so awesome to have seen this dudes career take off and watch him manifest what he set out to do all those years ago. Dubfx has been a huge inspiration for me. Beyond the music, the pure drive he has shown, busking for years and fine tuning his music has been an amazing thing to watch. Thank you so much for helping get this man the worldwide recognition he deserved.

Kolt Irons It's weird imagining a world where many of the great geniuses and historical figures will be on videos. Like, imagine a home video of a four year old Mozart nailing some difficult piano piece and then smiling at the camera. Or a video of some Napoleon's speech. Or a video of Einstein goofing around =P
Creates a completely different feeling of presence. History probably wont feel as far and mysterious as it feels now when there'll be video material stretching several hundred or even thousand years back (not to mention virtual reality recording).

I've seen him live twice, he's become pretty successful. But I think this song is about his realization that he doesn't need to make oodles of money with his music career to be fulfilled by it. Simply doing what he loves means that he's made it.
