Work can only be calculated using the time allotted if you do not declare cost. If you do not add resource, then you cannot generate reports that involve resources.
Hi. Is it possible to share this project file for me to try creating the S-curve? I tried creating S-curve from a dummy file which I created, but when I try to create visual report, the excel file created failed to detect any progress from my project, all the work is 0 although there are progress on my gantt chart Would really appreciate the help and guidance, thank you
Sadly, this is a bug. Try doing it with another file. If the error still happens in another file, try saving the file in a different location of your computer and try to Edit Template again. If error still persists, reinstall Ms Project.
Hi, Molly-- this is a PivotTable in essence so you cannot change an item like Week 1. You can however copy the result and paste as values in a different worksheet. That pasted data can be modified.
Can you tell me how to create an S-Curve for cumulative actual work to a date midway through the project? I want to show two S curves - one for cumulative baseline and one for cumulative actual work. And I'd like the cumulative actual curve to show where it deviates from the baseline (more or less work) at a given date. Following the steps in your video produces a good baseline but the actual curve is not showing what I would like.
great explanation... helo from Malaysia
Thank you!
After exporting to the report in excel, the values shows zero in the excel and not able to create a report. how can I solve that?
had similar problems.. any help would be appreciated
Make sure you have resources assigned, hours, and costs per resource.
If that does not work, copy paste your data in a new file.
Super clear and useful, thank you very much!!
Glad it helped!
Great! Thank you for perfect coaching
So how can we have both earliest Scurve and latest Scurve as envelope.
How is work calculated in MSP if we do not declare cost, also what happens if we don not add resource itself
Work can only be calculated using the time allotted if you do not declare cost.
If you do not add resource, then you cannot generate reports that involve resources.
@@ExcelInsights Thank u. So work is calculated based on duration only right when cost is not available. Say duration is 1 day so work is also 1 day.
Hello, great video to show baseline as an S curve, one thing missing though : showing the S curve of the (actual) work done to date...

Can i ask why my data values are zero.? So i cannot have s-curve line.
Is this for the baseline cumulative or actual cumulative?
Also what version are you using?
@@ExcelInsights baseline cumulative only.. i am using 2016 version.
Did you declare baselines after you completed plotting your target dates?
@@ExcelInsights yes i already set my baseline.
It is showing monthly calendar instead of weekly, how to change it?
No worries found it in the dialog box under report types.
Hi, may I know how can we create the S curve by using Physical % instead of % Complete? thank you very much
Hi, do you mean the Actual %?
@@ExcelInsights Yes for actual. Usually we will use % Complete as actual. But how can we use Physical % for it? thank you
