Here's a very good reason why the M16 is better and this is not based on stats or any damage profiles just a given fact.
Given that the gun does a burst in 3 bullet shots versus 4, it can be assumed that you can finish 1 burst and do a second one faster. Why is this important? Because for me, I sometimes miss my first burst and need to hit that second burst asap. Now, this is just my opinion but I do believe that based on this theory the M16 is preferable to many more players especially casual players. Another good thing to keep in mind is that the m8 goes through ammunition a bit faster then the m16 obviously so if you want to conserve or make ammo last without scavenger the m16 may be more favorable for you.

M16 has no recoil , i think the M8 has a tiny bit more that the M16, that what makes the M16 so damn good , with fast mgs and rapid fire it’s unstoppable, but if you compare them without any attachments I think the M8 edges out the M16.

Tanzeel Jaffery He had to try harder because the M16 happens to be easier to use, and the M8A7, which happens to be a burst weapon, takes skill. Like the VMP and Razorback. VMP is better and takes no skill. Same for M16.

Tbh both of them are amazing
M16, it takes less to kill most of the time. Like you can get 1 burst kills, but 2 burst more often than not. While the M8A7 I struggle to get kills with, mainly cuz my aim with it is trash. But it definitely takes longer to kill with.
M16 because you had a lot of kills with the wraith when you were using a M8 class
