i am not going to lie, this video was actually gold. the way you were actually getting emotional made me a little emotional too. by the way, i couldnt help but notice that you said you were going to watch the movie 8 mile. but that movie actually only had things in common with lose yourself than mockingbird. because lose yourself is literally based on the movie 8 mile. anyways keep up the good content and i wish you and your family a lot of happiness

True as far as I know, there is a lot in the song that was public. Em's childhood was pretty messed up from what's known. Place he lived was dangerous - same for all of his friends in that regard. Dad abandoned the family, mom had Munchausen by proxy, abusive stepfather, didn't fit in because he was white until he made some good friends who vouched for him. A lot of his songs really show the impact of his environment. They can be very dark. He said they were his form of therapy. You'd probably like When I'm Gone, similar to this one. Til I Collapse is probably another one you could try to show a bit if his other side - I don't think anyone hates that song. Fun reaction 😉

Give cleaning out my closet for an idea of his life growing up. He has one biological daughter but he has adopted his niece and daughter of his ex wife. He also got his brother out of care and took care of him.

Nice reaction. Yes, it's sad, but the story is actually true. In fact, he only has one daughter, Hailie, who he was talking to in the first line of the actual song. Alaina (Laney) is his niece, hence why he refers to himself as uncle when he mentiones her for the first time. She was the daughter of his ex-wife's twin sister, who had a drug problem and couldn't care for her, so he adopted her as his legal daughter. He also adopted his ex-wife's daughter Whitney, whom she had with another man.
