You know what else? The Rytm mki is still frickin awesome too. Exact same sound engine with slightly less interface and I/O than the mkii and i was able to get one for just 600 bucks. mki is smaller on the desk too. it is good friends with my Tr-8s.

l recommend not kicking yourself. analog four is my favorite piece of gear of all time. Analog four is also great gor making drum sounds, its much more versatile than rytm.

I thought I’d enjoy integrating it with my Octatrack but anytime I hook up one Elektron box to another, it’s like my brain overloads from the complexity and amount of options. I should probably be happy that the OT is enough on it’s own but G.A.S. is a MF-er
My favorite box of all time! I actually really enjoy chopping samples with the start point adjustments on it. I know it’s not the most usual approach but I like the results I get. Beat is dope as hell man! 👊🔥
I do this on the DT. You get some really creative results.
Haven’t done it on the RYTM as the start resolution was poor. But I think that’s been improved too.
@@leftmono1016 1.7 update increased the resolution of the grid by so much you can time stretch breaks!

Jim-bo knows Rytm. I love they added the 2 acoustic bd/sd engines and that chip tune thing. Always imparts some nice character on samples too with the analog compressor and filters.

I’m trying to figure out what is better for me. An Analog Rytm mkt 2 or the digitakt + the syntak.
I need one or the other to create my own drum samples in the studio.. I work a lot with sound design and in the DAW I usually use synth and sample layers to make my own drum sounds.
When I say digitakt + syntak it’s because I’m thinking about syncing the MIDI of the two devices and layering the synth (of syntak) with samples (of the digitakt). Example: in digitakt a clap sample and in the syntak a synth model clap.
I’m trying to figure out which choice has more sound design power.
In the Analog Rytm mkt 2 I can resample… but in the digitakt + syntak it looks like there is a bigger range of sounds for me to tweak and experiment with.
What would be your suggestion?

i was opposed to Elektron gear for a long time (really just because they cost a lot and they are their own quirky thing, lol).... once I got one I was hooked and now have several. I don't use all my boxes on every track... but am almost always inspired and blown away with they can do... a4 is such a sleeper hit for me....if u have one would love to see it a bit more.
