As a player corner/nickel I just learned so much. I may have to watch it again. It makes sense how they were able to flip the coverage and make it work for what’s relevant to offenses today.
@@MatchQuarters Understandable. I started off learning about Match coverage playing Madden now trying to take it to another level in terms of understanding the different variotions of it. I recently watched how the Patriots run the man to man I was impressed
11:45 so here is my interpretation: It's not quite about the system but rather finding a player and stopping them forcing someone else on the offence to step up. Based on how Cover 6 has been explained and talked about for me, yes its an intricate system that counters other Offensive systems in various specific aspects, but I feel like a traditional Fangio system looks to shut down a player or a pair of players through the philosophy of the system. Yes I understand what i just said might just sound the same, but I think it's key to identify the possible differences between Fangio D and other more "Average" systems league, is that other defenses might try and use the Cover 6 or single, single, half just to go and play coverage while a Fangio Defense might attempt to identify, gameplan and bracket certain players consistently team-wide on the D. But a disclaimer, I only consume NFL news i am not in a locker nor have I ever been so this is mere speculation. Cover 6 is very intuitive though and I think it;s going to be more apart of new age defense.
@@MatchQuarters Awesome video thanks again! I also enjoyed the article and some of the calls in there. I actually liked the interpretation of the "Poach" call, i love rotating defenders and i think it's the second-best way to scheme turnovers besides a fast and explosive pass rush.
@@MatchQuarters I really appreciate you, one last question who created pattern match quarters and how long has it been used? Do you have a video on that?

Really appreciate it!
Beautiful insight Cody. Quick q... in regards to qqh with cover 2 to the bun h side, how would you deal with getting high lower from bunch?
Sorry for the massive delay. Didn't see this... You can roll the coverage to the Bunch, creating a 3-Cloud Scenario to keep the C2 thought process.

His system is more intuitive than basic QQH. I wrote about it here: matchquarters.substack.com/p/explaining-fangios-sub-zeus-tag

@@KyriCunningham The idea was created I think back in the late 60s. Forgot the name.
@@MatchQuarters has it been ran in the nfl since the 60s? or is it just becoming more prevalent
