Hi Garden Angel. I know what you mean. Unfortunately just because I have a shed and tools I get to do all the repairs lol. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry 👍👍👍👍
Thanks MrDoeboy356 It's nice to have you onboard. The channel got bigger than I ever thought it would which is great but hard / impossible to keep up. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry 👍👍👍👍
Another fantastic Video Gerry! Very easy to follow along with and some great up close and personal shots 😀 really enjoying these regular uploads again, looking forward to the next video! 🥰👍
Hey Gerry. Thanks very much for taking the time to put this video together! My son had got me the 2417 and after a few cuts, one of the pulley bearings went. After seeing your video, I decided to give it a go and am nearly there. Ironically, last year my oil boiler was faulty and it was yourself doing a video for the same model of boiler which helped me to fix it. I also noticed from your video we have the same garage door, made me laugh. Like brothers from different mothers :-) Really appreciate your videos!
I'm guilty of not washing out my deck too Gerry. My mower is 10 years old, but I always take off the belt guard as soon as I get a new mower and never put it back on. It's my observation that grass always collects between the top deck and the plastic guards. Most of the time the decks rust out from the top side. I do wash off the top of my deck a couple of times a year.
Hi Dean. I hope to outlast this deck but the way things are going since I hit 60 I'm not sure lol. I do plan on cleaning this one but time will tell. Thanks for commenting Dean Cheers Gerry 👍👍👍👍
Gerry, I have a Honda engine I've bought for a tractor that I built from the frame up. It's a 13 HP engine and is also a twin. I put it into a tractor that I call a Kinardly. It's got John Deere, Cub Cadet, Honda, and a golf cart front axle and a hydraulic steering valve from a forklift. One Kinardly believe all those parts work together. It waii always be a tractor, just not a mower. It could maybe pull a mower behind it, but I doubt very much I'll put a mower deck under it.
Your Kinardly ounds great Bryant. These honda engines go forever if they get new oil regularly. I've seen abused ones keep going on nearly no oil too. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry 👍👍👍👍
Can you show us how to take off and then put back the cutting deck. I have to replace the blades on a 2006 Honda 2417 and have been told I need to remove the deck.
Thanks for the video Gerry it was very helpful. I have a Honda HF2417 HME 2004 very good machine but the deck rotted away after 19+years. Would like to do the change of the deck like you. I am based in Ireland South. Would you still know good places to get a deck and parts or a complete deck ready to swap out.👍 Thanks again, the video was first class.👏👏👏👏
Hi FB My grass was getting very long so I was under pressure to get this mower fixed. Turns out to be an easy job to do and the rest of the machine is in great condition. I had copper grease to hand and di use it on someof the bolts and joints but used automotive grease into some of the grease nipples on the steering etc. Thanks for taking the time to comment Much appreciated Cheers Gerry 👍👍👍👍
Hello, great job on your refurbishment of your mower By any huge chance... do you know where it might be possible to buy a replacement cutting deck for my Honda HT3810... everything works on my old faithful but the decking housing on mine is in very bad shape.... any suggestion would be appreciated, thank you.
Hi Gerry, today my 2417 started smoking from the main pulley, brand new deck installed few days ago, there is a smell of burning rubber and I’m wondering do I need to top up fluid ? No info on hydrostatic fluid online
Hi Gary My lawnmower is same/similar to yours 2010 I can source a deck (castle garden) Do I need to drill holes as you did or would it not work properly if I don't Thanks
Hi Christiano. I first tried it without drilling the holes and it did not fill the bag as expected. The grass was not being picked up properly. Once I drilled the holes there was plenty of suction and it blasted the grass into the bag. The original Honda deck had bigger air intakes. Hope this helps Cheers Gerry
So immensely satisfying watching someone else do all the hard work!👍
