The most amazing thing about Adam Young is how uplifting his music is. Even something as silly and simple as Fireflies leaves you feeling somehow better than you did before.
As a long time fan of Owl City and someone who listens to his music every single day, I full agree with everything you have said in this video. I wish he'd come back. I wish he's make more music. He's shaped my life in an incredible way. I would give anything to be able to meet him.

But now that he's gone indie, he's probably relaxing a bit. After Universal Republic went defunct and became Republic, Owl City was kind of in non-stop mode, with pretty rigorous touring and a lot of expectations, or so it seemed. I bet he's taking this opportunity to work at his own pace a little bit
Owl City is my #1 favorite artist of all time, and the fact that most people only know him for "the guy that did Fireflies", while he has tons of other great songs that are just as good, if not better, is just heartbreaking. He is such an amazing artist, and is totally underrated and deserves more recognition for what he does. Every song me makes is amazing! There is not one bad song. Even 'All My Friends" grew on me, and now I love it!

I know exactly two people who even know him! i am so glad that People are awesome once put Verge as a background music in their video and I mistook it for Born to be yours, which was in the previous one and I wanted to listen to that (yes, that is exactly how I found Adam :D). I think, that if he makes a huge song now, he might be bretty popular tho. But that is prettyhard if you already are pretty much a one hit wonder sadly

I’ve been obsessed with Adam’s music for years. Got the privilege to go to one of his rare tours in Manchester for the midsummer station world tour. It’s a shame he’s taken a huge break as I feel he could change the sound of the current scene in music. It’s all the same kind of hiphop esq style beats. Songs like Stay by The Kid LAROI (beat produced by Charlie Puth) are already a showing a bit of a shift. The bass of that song sounds like some of Owl City’s stuff. I hope he comes back soon. I could use some freshness

The only Musician I know. Adam Randal Young. I glad to born a Citezen. He was a humble person using music as his soul to express how beautiful to live on this planet. Turning sad songs into happy songs. He made every music with such a great meaningful lyrics with your first impressions last. He can write single line lyrics a whole story.
Owl city was a type of music for me like rock, jazz, but this is a new one I call it Owl City. Adam always use the nature and daily life to made a song with his pure voice. Hope they will came back as soon, really miss them.
I'd even say after the 50s. So much music is about its digestibility, it's conformity...and so much of an artist's job is needing to be famous and glamorous. It's tiresome. I really appreciate people like Adam, and Tyler from Twenty Øne Piløts.

I'm actually not a fan of pop music, but owl city is no ordinary pop musician either. its melodies and harmonies are absolutely unique in pop music. some can take a great example from him. he is one of my favorite musicians and i usually listen to mostly jazz and classical music.

I went back and listened to all his stuff about a year ago because I remember liking Ocean Eyes when I was younger. I wasn't the biggest fan of Cinematic but Coco Moon might genuinely be my favorite album ever.
Always will be a solid fan of Adam even his other projects is so amazing as well... Whenever I have a new taste in music I always tend to go back to Adam's song there's just no other song that as ecstatic and dreamy song that'll always fit any mood I'm in.

I knew owl city a lil older just before ocean eyes came out and fireflies became a thing. I just want to add one point why he isn’t big as it should people thought he would be. I think it because IMHO , he really aware what kind of community that he wants to built. He was not just want to have a “fans” following him. But I genuinely feels this is what kind of environment that he likes as an artists. If you look at him now. He still has some anxiety when meeting A LOT of people in personal (not performing). And it just the same as what we know him when he record his first record under his father’s basement.
I think he's toured a lot more than you're giving him credit for - almost all of his tours were in the 2010s and included two separate tours in 2010 itself, and extremely long tour in 2011, two tours in 2012, a tour in 2013, a few Asia jaunts in 2014, and two tours in 2015, not actually going a year without any touring until 2016 and 2017, after which he came back with Cinematic in 2018. It should also be noted that the Elise Trouw-style live looping in Owl City shows was new for Cinematic - he hadn't ever done it before, and usually had a live band of himself and four other people (six on the All Things Bright and Beautfiul and Ocean Eyes tours) doing most of that stuff. Cinematic was the first tour since 2009 where the live band was just him and two other guys
Because... He writes his own music and lyrics, playa all the instruments, records, edits, and sings all vocals. Creates the play list. Hell; the only thing the record company does; is make the CD, print all Media for it, and handle some publicity! Even Adam himself; does much of the publicity himself through socal Media, the way he always has! He more than a one man band; he's a one man recording company
Also; I've been following Adam since MySpace; when he asked me to give a listen to his latest song; Fireflies. He spend a year writing and creating his own soundtracks for things like the Apollo moon landing. He wrote a country song, and let the country artist he colabed with sing the main verses, while he just did the chorus. I believed Adam can do anything; he says his mind too

You should definitely be more critical of some of his work especially the songwriting on mobile orchestra and midsummer station as it’s definitely inconsistent and has weaker production throughout Things like cinematic and obviously ocean eyes are genuinely something special in my opinion and it’s pretty obvious that he’s very technically proficient with production and performance it’s just good to remember that his discography is not perfect and has been known to get a little bit too cheesy from time to time. Nobody’s perfect, so just keep that in mind

I don't listen to any singer, other than Adam. His voice, messages, and creativity (in my opinion) is beyond anyone else's. I'm also in love with his instrumental albums from his project "Adam Young Scores"

You should definitely be more critical of some of his work especially the songwriting on mobile orchestra and midsummer station as it’s definitely inconsistent and has weaker production throughout
Things like cinematic and obviously ocean eyes are genuinely something special in my opinion and it’s pretty obvious that he’s very technically proficient with production and performance it’s just good to remember that his discography is not perfect and has been known to get a little bit too cheesy from time to time.
