@@mrlilmatt123 Like everyone else is buying all the property, prices have gone ballistic leaving local youngsters and some adults not being able to live there, it's a crying shame, literally.
Your videos are just so amazing. I can’t believe how extremely underrated your channel is!! These videos really give the “going on a holiday” feel, and I’ve missed that so much🤩🤩
@@seenthroughglass I feel the same way ❤️ This is my favorite channel and it is so nice to see Vicky again, although I was really hoping for more details and thoughts about the car itself.
I think you’re over thinking it. It’s great to use on a daily basis and it’s practical for us( family of 3). We live in the Caribbean, yeah! We like it …🎉😅
I have a 90 in Corwall ! It's a fantastic car and fine with young kids and a small dog. Feel so safe nice punchy 3l engine and comfort helps like the heated seats and wheel. Good cameras for tight spots too. Love it!!!
We travelled from Scotland to London over the weekend in our Defender 90 with 3 adults and 3 x 100 ltr holdalls in the back....no problem...most comfortable car to travel in the back of...and on off road tyres!...absolutely love this car, you should get one Sam!.
I used to spend my childhood summers down in Portscatho and the excitement I got from boarding the King Harry Ferry was like nothing else! Totally with you there Sam..
Sam - your content has leapfrogged so many others to become the reference point for car reviews on TH-cam. For me it's basically you and Harry Metcalfe (Harry's garage) at the top. Your USP is simple but brilliant - you do magazine-style fun things with your cars, put them in context, and convey the excitement. Very nicely done.
Good to see Vicky make a brief appearance again, yeah like yourself I struggle with the practicality aspect of the new defender 90 it’s like a oversized Suzuki Jimny looks great but zero luggage space with the rear seat
I had the same 🤔 but couldn’t shake off the desire to own the 90. (Based in W.London) My summary at the LR dealership was “it’s right for all the wrong reasons”. A few months in and still love this thing (Def X P400). Fitted a roof rack, side ladder so have the option for a roof box if a trip requires a load of stuff, or as you say, rear seats down 👍
Ever since the old Top Gear trio took a trip to Cornwall in their homemade camper vans, I’ve always wanted to go there. My next visit to England it’s definitely happening. Cheers From 🇨🇦
Definitely a video to bring sunshine to our day! The new defender is definitely ‘a grower’ and the 90 certainly looks good, notwithstanding your observations of its shortcomings.
I think it is great that you are driving to actual destinations and showing those destinations rather than just driving around aimlessly filming the road directly in front of you or, even worse, showing only parked cars in a garage....
Ahhh - my part of the world. It's so beautiful down here. You could have dropped off my STG coffee delivery on the way through!! Great video as always!!
Mate, I would pay to see this kind of content in a cinema! The level of quality is insane, as always. And also great to see Vicky back on the channel :)
Video couldn’t come up at a better time. My father is trying to figure out which defender to get and I think for the retired rural couple the 90 hybrid could be the perfect car.... You never know this could be my fathers first TH-cam video 🤞
Whenever I see Cornwall I think of ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘Poldark’. It’s really beautiful. And i like the Defender 90. I would just buy it without the back seats and have someone put comfy old style side seats in it. Heavily disguised so as not to fall foul of the old bill. 👍😜
Another really nice video. I was very similar to you. I even spec'd a hardtop 90 on the configurator. I own an older 90 and was sold by the new 90s looks. But...a customer of mine got one...the rear seats don't even fold flat...their larger dog didn't fit in it. He fell out. They gave it back and got a 110. I had that same feeling of it just wasn't quite right. Very honest video. Thankyou Love Twiggy's window art 7:55
Great video, I live in Cornwall and if your still here I would recommend going to st Michaels mount (as long as it’s open) and fistral beach when the suns out because it has amazing sunset! Great vibes there too…
That P&O ferry has been there for quite a long time, never seen it move myself. You're welcome back to Cornwall anytime! Need to keep a better eye on social media to see when you are around to keep an eye out! Also don't want to be 'that guy' but the only thing I can say is Truro is a city not a town, the only city in Cornwall, but close enough!
Shame we didn’t get to meet the folks! I know what you mean re the 90 - the 110 is way way bigger than I need - the 90 would be perfect for my one car except for that boot.
Somewhat surprised that tour of Yorkshire has ended. Nice video all the same and a fine vehicle in the Defender 90. An SUV that makes some kind of sense for those that need all weather capability despite the eye watering price tag. Best to treat the 90 as a two/three seater plus luggage and for anything else it's the 110. Thank you.
They should make a 90L which has 20cm/10” extension to the storage compartment at the back and a slightly longer wheelbase. That 3/4 shot from the rear looked like the wheelbase was barely a metre long.
Ooooo wow Sam you went down to where I grew up. My late grandad was the head gardener at Trelissick Gardens for decades which is right next to King Harry ferry. Not only that on the left as you drive down under the bridge that crosses the road there is a couple of cottages on a dirt track called Lilly’s Cottage where I spent my childhood. They also built a hut overlooking the Fal in my grandad’s memory. Did you stop to have a look around the gardens? Really jealous of you and this trip, I need to go back home.
Although I loved my vacations in Cornwall it's also sad to see how grumpy the daily living there have become. But it's still gourmet food and views down the coast. Great video Sam. 👌✌
Nice to see Vicky enjoying herself, i see Yorkshire was a blast! Not far from me in York and the accommodation looked amazing, we might give it a try sometime.
Still killing it with the edits Sam!! Video idea - Go and visit the James May’s pub and Clarkson’s farm shop (maybe as a road trip with Paul and Shmee?)
I think you're right the 90 should be seen more of a 2/3 seater with the occasional 4th/5th seats. I own an older 90 with the bench seats that barely get used but are useful to have. Love the car though nothing better for what it does.
I got a friend that use to own an old 90, that car is a 2 seater with ocasional people in the trunk. I think the idea is to have it usually down the rear seats. Also the 90 don’t need a big engine, it is not a car to go fast at all.
I 'm loving the travel videos with incidental cars. Please keep this style - we've all been missing travelling and exploring :) It was wonderful to see KHF again... at least ferries are preferable to oil tankers!
Enjoyed that video you are starting to make some really entertaining chilled videos with something a bit extra that other you tubers don’t offer I love Cornwall I might take my old 90 TD5 there to buzz around the small roads
Nice having Viki join in for a few seconds :) I feel you on this one. Am confused about the 90 as well. Rather more clear on the 110 though. Don't want a bus.
As ever, very nice video. Potential Solution: Put shopping on the back seats and in the rear footwell when not carrying passengers; or just don’t go shopping when you do have passengers :)
What a surprise, as I was working today, I had your first two Drive the World films on in the background to remind me of that alternative universe when we were able to travel. This video is like a continuatuon with the cool holiday vibe! Its lovely seeing Vicky again. Don't forget to borrow a Maserati GT at some point so she can expirience one!
Sam I spent a lot of my childhood in Mylor! Have you been to the Pandora Inn pub? I highly recommend going for a meal on the pontoon and testing the defenders skills through the tight country lanes!
Awesome video as always and great to see you in Cornwall! Just for future visits, Truro is our only city and you may get the locals up in arms when referring to it as a "town"!
Man I love those types of videos! 😍 With Viki it reminds me of the Drive The World series. I personally really like the vibes when you are filming together 👍
The side facing seats in the Defender were a factory fit for many years, not illegal. They changed the rules a couple of years before they killed off the old Defender......
Shout out to Vicky 🙌 STG simply has the cleanest most aesthetic car videos on TH-cam 🎉🎉
Very kind, thank you
Really enjoyed this video. Throw-back to Vicki and you touring the world during "simpler" times. Keep positive and stay healthy.
Great to hear! We had a lot of fun. Felt like the good old times
MORE VICKY!! We miss her since the two of you sat down for your Drive the World recap!
agree , we need a break from sam every now and then
Good to see that Vicky has recovered from her 5 out of 10 coffee.

Food, coffee & cars. The best kind of videos! 😎
Perfect timing to get a break of online university 💯
EDIT: I love the Drive The World feeling of this episode, also great to see Vicky back on camera!
Good to see twiggy loves it! Surely that's the only reason you need to buy one.

So nice to see you in my beautiful Cornwall. Got some amazing supercar news to share with you soon. Will update you very soon when we launch.
Why do I love this so much!?!? I suddenly want a defender, and suddenly want to go to Cornwall.
Nice to see some parts of the UK I never knew existed. Looks lovely Sam, cheers!
