A Stunning Recreation of the Top of the Line SG From 1963. The Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG Custom With Maestro Vibrola is new for 2024, from the Epiphone Inspired By Gibson Custom collection.
Made in collaboration with Gibson™ Custom, the Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG With Maestro Vibrola is a stunning recreation of the classic vintage model. 1963 was the last year that the “Les Paul™” moniker was used on the SG™ Custom and the first year for the Maestro™ Vibrola™. The premium appointments the model is known and loved for are all present here, including a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon, a SlimTaper™ profile, and a bound ebony fretboard. It also features mother-of-pearl block fretboard inlays and a Custom split diamond headstock inlay on the bound Gibson-style “open book” headstock.
The electronics are equally impressive, with three Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups hand-wired to CTS® potentiometers, Mallory™ capacitors, and a Switchcraft™ pickup selector toggle switch and output jack - this guitar is going to sound like a Gibson Custom Shop guitar! The VOS (Vintage Original Sheen) Classic White finish is nicely complimented by the gold hardware, including 18:1 ratio Grover® Rotomatic® tuners. A black hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics and a goldenrod interior is also included.

ABOUT EPIPHONE
For 150 years, Epiphone has been a leading innovator in instrument design with models like the Casino, the Texan, and Masterbilt Century Archtop Collection. Epiphone began as the Stathopoulo family business in modern-day Turkey in the 1870s and rose to fame during the jazz age in Manhattan, before joining Gibson brands in 1957. Today, Epiphone continues to make history from its headquarters in Nashville, TN. Epiphones have powered classic recordings by Les Paul, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones along with today's top artists like Peter Frampton, Gary Clark Jr., Tommy Thayer of KISS, and Lzzy Hale. Epiphone offers innovation, history, and a lifetime guarantee. Whether you are learning your first song in your bedroom, or rocking an arena, Epiphone has always been there, for everyone, for every generation, for every stage.
It does look amazing.....perfect for when you're the other guitarist in a 1970s era Alice Cooper tribute band banging out Billion Dollar Babies, Elected, School's Out etc 😍
My favorite Les Paul SG Custom with Maestro Vibrola
The first SG I ever saw was in 1964, a white Custom, brand-new in a music store. I was 13 or 14, and I thought it was the most beautiful guitar I’d ever seen. I’ve never owned a Custom-always wanted one. I’ve had SG Standards, and I have a very nice 2002 SG Supreme, but I just might have to get one of these Customs.
Great story! I too, love SG's - Lee
The SG is, in my opinion, the ultimate rock and roll guitar! Rock on, @Epiphone! 😎
I agree! This Sister Roseeta Theta aka Godmother of Rock N Roll signature guitar 🎸
Beauty!
Very nice. The instant I saw it I thought of Sister Tharpe.
A legend!
She barely even used one. Tony Iommi used these exclusively throughout his career and zero mention of him.
I ordered mine
I hope it serves you well! -Lee
@@OfficialEpiphone oh it will!
@@OfficialEpiphone thank you
What a beauty 😍
And the Korina Flying V is back as well? Can you believe it, after over a decade you start making guitars I want again.
Is it a Gibson guitar? No, of course not. Will it break my bank? No, definitely not. But at least it has three Gibson pickups, and pearl inlay blocks! Now if only Gibson would sell their guitars at that price... 🤔
I want to let you know that the custom buckers as a pair of 2 sells for anywhere from 400- 800$. These new guitars definitely are worth more than they are selling. They’re selling gibsons with epiphone on them basically 😶
Kinda the point of Epiphone doing it. Seeing as how Gibson is the parent company
@@343guiltyguitarist4I still don’t know how gibson come up with prices for their pickups. This is not a screaming deal because it’s overpriced
@@sixsledges5474 oh trust me it’s a screaming deal my friend. Like I said 5-10 grand for a 59. Mean while they’re charging 1200. Maybe instead of whining save up for one of your so mad about not getting one.
@@sixsledges5474 this guitar is probably about 5000 if made here in the USA. So again I don’t understand what you people are crying about.
Such an awesome and beautiful guitar! I dream of owning one of these (as well as its Les Paul counterpart) but at $1500 one could reasonably argue that I should just go with the Gibson itself. Still one can dream.
This is close to perfect, but we're missing a stop tail variety. Also, antiqued Ivory finish would be welcome. Maybe even a transparent finish if you're feeling bold.
Will you offer a left handed version of the SG?
by the end of the year, I'm sure I'll find one used for under a grand. patience dude. lol
Wishful thinking buddy all these high end Epiphones models from 2019/2020 to present once they have been discontinued and go on the used market you won't find any of them no less than a $1,000 and more..
Still waiting for a proper EB3 bass reissue...
Hi Earthling273. Why do you use this, for me, stupid, childish anonymous name on YT? What are you trying to achieve?
Are you afraid someone might recognize you? Are you afraid your partner, family, workmates or friends will recognize you?
I use my real name. For me it's down to honesty, truthfulness, respectfulness and respect? Do you know these concepts?
Well, unlike you, Epiphone do too. So let's look at the truth - to me, you seem incapable of it - so far. Sadly!
In 2022, Epiphone released a very new and upgraded, on many levels, EB-3 bass (you even got the name wrong!)
As far as I could then find, Epiphone never announced it officially. It certainly wasn't announced on their web-site.
I know this for sure because I just happened to see one in Epi Dealer R'n'R shop in Łódź (Poland), because my 'home' RnR ("Rock'nRoll') in Warszawa was closed for major repairs, and so I checked it out.
Epiphone (for reasons known to the Gods) didn't announce it then. It took another 6 months or more. It was made in Samick, Indonesia.
So there we go - I have mine - and it's a gem, and all you are capable of achieving is anonymously dissing Epiphone on YT. Idiot!
Duuudes. Please please please make a lefty version of this :(((
Flip it like Jimi..?
if its anything like the IBG 1961 this will be killer.
I miss the 2020 inspired by Gibson Epi SG with the sharp bat curves and big black pickguards
Will it be available in EU?
I just bought and found one today can't waite to get it supposed was the last one there going to make for sometime so you all lose out haa haa.
Epiphone, I made a promise to myself when I started playing that I would never spend over $1000 on a single piece of gear...seeing this...this hurts
It'll be on the used market within 3 - 4 months for $900ish most likely. Just gotta know where to look. I'll definitely be looking.
Does the 3 way isolate the middle or combines middle with another pickup?
if it wired historically (which I think is the case) it will be middle and bridge pickup.
You use the frampton mod and sacrifice a tone control for middle pickup volume leaving the other tone nob as a master tone.
@@SionynJones the Frampton mod is what my three pickup Les Paul custom is wired into. I much prefer the wiring this way and love being able to use my middle pickup as essentially a boost for lead playing. Plus I don’t use tone pots all that much anyways so it was an easy choice.
❤ Made in Japan? Made in usa?
actually, china
@@hui583 thanks!
Really a beautiful guitar but I never liked the tremolo on sg
Really wish theyd done it in a gloss cream or aged ivory. These satin finishes are very cheap looking.
Not a significant difference between the 2021 models and 2024.. same exact electronics hardware and wiring with the same ebony fretboards and the same exact graph tech nut..and 18:1: grover tuners and same Maple caps
Same humbuckers??? I don't think so, this version comes with Custombuckers
@@AndersondiazG didn't say same humbuckers buddy maybe you should have paid attention nothing mentioned about any humbuckers
@@AndersondiazG oh and the custom buckers sounds no better than the the pro buckers
@@LeopoldShitzalot When you say the same electronic hardware, are you not including the humbuckers? If you're not, then enlighten us with your great wisdom 😂 what group do the humbuckers belong to? And if you dare to say that the Epiphone ProBuckers sound better than the Gibson Custombuckers, you should revisit that comparison.

I do have to say that Gibson is quite evil but man they make guitars that I cannot help to pick up
Drool.
Inspired by gibson to charge as much as they possibly can
Give them a break they’re trying to give us some quality instruments finally 😀
This proves that with a Gibson it’s mostly the name your paying for…
Ridiculous price for $100 paid in labor
No resale value because of the Gibson headstock on Epiphones plain and simple thats not the proper Epiphone Kalamazoo headstock period
I buy guitars because I want to play them, and it matters 100% to me how they sound, how they look, how well they're constructed and what's the build quality, what quality/make are the components and my own general considered experience and opinion - so unsurprisingly your negative comments are wasted on me, and probably most other readers.
Btw, is anyone - like an Epiphone competitor paying you to post such negative comments?
The boys at Andertons have already praised the headstocks and their closeness to Authenticity... Stay safe! 😊
Then stick to standard epiphones?? They’re not disappearing off the face of the earth… these are just some premium specs for the people who prefer them
@@rokomouth um now you're lying because a lot of epiphones are on back ordered already buddy see when you lie it just gets you caught
@@rokomouth and smoking Gibson in sales just like they did back in the day it was over for Gibson when JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to where they should have always been in 2019/2020 and no Les Paul and Epiphone there wouldn't be a Gibson Les Paul solid body guitar today a historic fact
