    This is simple arithmetic. You have 3 piles of cards on the table. Each of them has a card on the top that determines the number of cards in that pile. If the card has a value of X (A=1, 2, 3..., Q=12, K=13), the number of cards in that pile is 14-X (13 for A, ..., 1 for K). So, the total number of cards on the table is 3*14-X-Y-Z (X, Y, Z are the 3 topmost cards on the table). So, there is a 52-(42-X-Y-Z) = 10+X+Y+Z cards in the packet in hand. Then, if you substract X+Y+10 from this number, there are always Z cards left in hand. No magic, simple math :)

    I’ve been searching for this! My cousin showed me how to do this trick 10 to 15 years ago and told me I should be able to figure it out since I was good at math. This is the only trick that still amazes me

    Hi there, I learned this trick many years ago - well a variation of it. It's one of my favourites. It's all based on arithmetic. 13 is a key number: hint, hint. Thank you for sharing.

    You have to somehow seem like more than just going through a procedure. There has to be an element of 'magic'.

      The spectator needs to be as involved as possible. They shuffle the deck. They pick 5 random cards and lay them face up on the table. You count each pile to 13 as usual and flip the pile. They point to the two random piles that you place under your deck. They turn over top card on two of the 3 remaining piles. You just say, "okay, ten plus (top card) plus (other top card) equals (whatever). Then you deal out that number. Hand them the rest and have them count them. You say," that's amazing! I can't believe it. That's exactly the value of the top card on that pile!"
      Have them turn it over!"

      On a previous video, you counted off the word "impossible", one card for each letter - I use this version. I'm a support worker, and I did this with a young man I support who is Autistic. I called it the Impossible card, and had him mostly handling the cards. He was amazed at the outcome.

    Given outer cards are both K, then K+K+10=36
    For K in middle, then only 3 cards on table so you have 49 cards in the deck.
    36 + 13 (value of middle K) = 49
    For Q in middle => 4 cards on table & 48 in deck; 36+12=48
    For A in middle=> 15 cards on table; 37 in deck; 36+1=37

    There's a different version of this trick that I"ve been doing since I was a kid. Instead of counting to 13, count to 12 instead. Also, I start counting with the cards facing up so I can see the value. If I get a J, Q or K as the starting count card, I shuffle it away. The trick is more effective if the number cards are on the top...otherwise, you'd have to explain the value of those 3 face cards. Before I start the count to 12, I'll tell the spectator that I'll shuffle the cards randomly...mainly just looking to avoid the J, Q and K. With a 12 count, you should be able to deal out more than 4 packs...maybe 5-7 or so. Either way, have the spectator remove the piles in excess of 4. Then have them turn over the top cards of any 3 piles. Add up those 3 cards and don't add 10 to that number as the video trick shows. Whatever number of cards remains will be the last top card of the 4th pile. This is a great and simple trick.

    • @pjsalata
      @pjsalata 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bcwalker1 no, you're wrong. The removed piles are totally irrelevant. If you have 10 and 9 on the table, the maximum number of cards on the table is 4+5+13=22 (4 for 10, 5 for 9, and 13 when there is an Ace in the 3rd pile; if the 3rd card is higher, the number of cards is smaller). Then, (in case of Ace) you have 30 cards in hand. You substact 29 and 1 is left, indicating the Ace.

      Before the trick, ask the spectator for their lucky number in between 1-10. Whatever they say, subtract from 10, and claim that number as your lucky number and remove that many cards equaling both numbers before starting. Or you can simply remove ten cards before hand. Basically, the trick works with 42 cards.

    I'm amazed that so many gullible people say this trick works. Like his other tricks, this is not a trick, it's a fraud... designed, I guess, to see how many people will fall for it. Not only can this "trick" not work, this "trick" cannot work... or if it ever did, it would be a total coincidence. Any good statistician can tell you why... I don't have the time or inclination to do that here.
