Flying The Nest Yes actually. Flew to the Bahamas when I was a teen, beautiful blue skies one day .. a few days later, hurricane Wilma hit! Broke our family video camera whilst trying to film the storm outside. Oops!
Yep, I live in Scotland, and it was blue skies today, and now we're looking forward to a week of snow. We joke that you can experience four seasons in one day here.
Never been outside of the USA,yet! Applied for my passport and looking at cameras now, any suggestions for travel tips, cameras, anything us appreciated! Love your videos!
vienna fun facts: cafes are such a big part of viennas culture, that starbucks cannot compete. the würstelstände are a bi part of vienna, and a place where rich people from the highest class come to eat, just like people from lower classes vienna is the city with the highest quality of live, and the city most worth living in . it's got that title like eight times in a row, was place 2 in 2017 and n´is place 1 again in 2018.
More places/things to see: - Gustav Klimt's most famous painting in the Belvedere. - A huge mural spanning several walls by Klimt in the Secession Building. - Empress Sisi's apartments. - A butterfly house in a beautiful Secessionist style ex-greenhouse (near the library) - Peek into the stables in the Hofburg area. - A massive collection of armoury in the Neue Burg. - A fascinating display of items collected by the Hapsburg dynasty in the Kunsthistorisches museum. ... etc Plus, if you like visiting cemeteries, you'll like the Kaisergruft under the Capuchin Church, which has 150 or so tombs and coffins of the Hapsburg/Hapsburg-Lorraine dynasty members.
i feel so blessed to have family in this city that i can visit, europe is so special and beautiful, and vienna is the most beautiful city in europe to me, its even more delicate and beautiful than paris in my opinion, so much culture and music and history ❤️
Its funny that too many people are sharing your opinion. I am born in Vienna and for me its just standard but tourists often tell me that they are surprised how beautiful Vienna is :)
Ye its very beautiful bc i live in vienna i very like it but the thing is, its so rare to snow and sometimes its snows but just like a little bid of snow that melt in one hour
Nice to see my home city from a tourist's view! Happy to see the areas I walk almost everyday! Winter in Vienna is awesome! I recommend you to visit countryside more to the west as well! ❤🇦🇹
"Hidden Gems" is really the best description for vienna. I've been living here my entire life and I still find beautiful places I didn't know about every once in a while. There are a couple old cities around europe where this applies. You could spend months there and still find a hidden spot in areas you thought you'd know by now.
Amsterdam of course. And then I visited Scravazende(sp?) and a couple other small towns. I have family that lives there so I was able to see a few places. I’d love to go back or to live in Europe.

4:26 Charles Church. The only one in Vienna u have to pay a fee to enter - in exchange they left an elevator there from renovations and u can go up and see the frescos closeup. 6:06 The filling of the Sachertorte is an apricote jam. 6:45 To each his own - I personally rather go to Oberlaa, like 2min away. If you ever decide to visit Vienna again I recommend visiting Cafe Landmann. It’s a very beautiful Cafe. If you ever visit in Summer then you should visit the Prater.
I couldn’t go onto the library at the Leopoldskronstraße palace in Salzburg because there were meetings there for two days so I think I will need to try and visit that library instead!
How special is it when your in European cities and you wake up to snow like that. Living in Paris it was amazing when it happened here. If you are in Paris message me, would love to show you around if you'd like.
Yeah it was such a unique day, especially because we got to see it on both days - with sun and snow! Oooh not going to Paris on this trip but will keep that in mind thank you!
I’ve eaten at the schnitzel place a month ago on my trip to Vienna. The schnitzel is delicious but it’s sooo big. I highly recommend sharing one between two people.
I also love love love (Lujublijana, Slovenia) and Vienna Austria been to those places a couplenof times too and there are some amazing places to visit great suggestions from people on going to Salzburg as there is so much to see! The castle there is amazing too!
I actually live in Vienna and the Sachertorte is the original chocolate cake and it was created 1832 and the part you tought was orange is apricot Marmelade :)
this is where I will stay someday a magical vibe about this place which doesn't exist anywhere else As if there's still a need for music to be created here demanded from voices of the past and well understood and interpreted
Omg you’re staying at schloss leopoldskron 😩 I went to Salzburg for my first ever solo trip last summer and ended up trespassing to get there because I wanted to see it so much 😂 you guys are living tha dreaaaam
so excited that you took my recomondation to visit the salzburg, but missing munich, next time.you are so good and not boring vloggers, plus so funny,so unique.nice watching you.please keep posting.
I am living in Vienna (I’m Austrian) and I think it was almost midnight and I was walking with my dad and brother near St.Pauls Cathredral and Suddenly a guy in a pink bunny costume was running around and randomly talking to some people he almost came up to us!
About the Sacher Torte, They think a lot of themselves and also market and price this Cake like it's the holy grail. But it's not the best "Sacher Torte" in Vienna, there are a lot of places with a better Version of this cake, like the Bräunerhof, Café Ritter or the Café Sperl . Me, most friends of mine and part of my Family thinks it is to dry and doesn't have enough Marmelade. So if you come to Vienna Check out one or more of the Cafés mentioned above, they not only have better cakes and more variety (in my opinion) but the experience will also be more authentic and also cheaper. Another tip is the Café Vollpension where several granny's bake some of the most mouth watering and delicious cake I have ever eaten. Have fun visiting, and have a nice Melange!
It’s so interesting seeing you guys exploring Vienna and loving the big buildings and finding everything so beautiful...as like for me I see that everyday and find it normal 😂 and 5/10 for Sachertorte is too low 😂😂😍😍
good video, i am going to vienna for 8 days over new year this year so found it interesting. How much is it for a coffee there ? is there a big diffrence in prices between say a local shop and a big coffee shop like the 1 in the hotel.
Soooo, I guess no St. Stephen's Cathedral...? Or not blogable...? Really liked the "The day doesn't begin until the coffee's in"...! Words to live by... :)
I’ve heard good things about Innsbruck. But you seem to be traveling in the other direction. Very interested in the Vienna to Budapest train adventure. Ich kann das schild lesen... “reisebüro”. 😎🚞 I’m wondering how a trip to Austria would be after studying more German language?
I am an Australian Citizen like you guys, were you required to have a SCHENGEN VISA to visit Europe? I want to visit Europe for 1.5 months only. Please reply asap.
Going myself in Feb, wondering what kind of shoes/boot you guys took/wore, seeing as though its snowing and cold. Not too sure what to buy as i have never done Europe in winter before.
If you are staying in urban areas any shoe with a thick sole will do. It might sound weird but when it is snowing like that it does not feel overly cold, on the contrary dry and cold climate is really unpleasant.
What did u eat at 7:52? That cheesy fried food. It's look delicious. Is it still at Cafe Sacher? Anyway, when did you go to Vienna? I'll go to Vienna next early january. I wish I could get a snowfall experience like you had.
The name of the cheese is "Gebackener Emmentaler", you get it with "Sauce Tartare" or cranberries. The Restaurant looks like "Figlmüller", but you can get Wiener Schnitzel and fried cheese in the most taverns in Vienna ;) Welcome to Vienna, enjoy!
Very warm but pleasant, you definitely have to visit Austria. If you have more questions you can ask me here or you can check out my youtube channel. There I upload tons of vlogs about Austria :)
I really like these videos :’) id appreciate it if you gave the cities you visit a grade out of 10, on how much you enjoyed it and how likely you are to come back some day. Im thinking about going on an exchange to Vienna for a semester but im not sure if it is worth it or I should go somewhere else. Thanks!
haha I think that would be hard! We just appreciate every little thing, every little city we get to visit that we would hate to compare them all! but for your record we would 100% come back to Vienna!
creat to see my everyday places out of different eys. if you would have walked from Hofburg through Volksgarten to Rathaus (where you did eisskating) there would have been a chance you filmed my office ;)
if you ever think of going to vienna again, contact me and i'll show you places tourists never will see. Anyway, i love your vids. It is very funny to see my home in the eyes of a Tourist ;)
Hehe first of all thanks for including my comment in the video 😅 (I'm creatingthoughts on instagram 😊) and yes, the church is called Karlskirche, but I think you already know 🙂 During the warmer seasons, there is this wonderful garden behind Schloss Schönbrunn and also the biggest zoo in Austria, Tiergarten Schönbrunn. These places are absolutely worth a visit too :) It's so nice to see the places I visit quite often in your video, like Schloss Schönbrunn or the train station 😅 and I also have to go by the train you took everytime I travel to Vienna (random fact: it is the best and fastest train in Austria and these RailJet-trains are also made in Vienna 🤗)
Yes we loved the palace but really want to go back in the summer to get the ful l experience! Soo many locals were on the train - a beautiful little ride that one is!

What a dreamy, beautiful country.. this is straight up my aisle, all snow and picturesque scenery...
Vienna is totally worth a visit! We spent 2 days there and could easily make it another!
trusth me i live in vienna and it is so rare that its snowing i hope this winter its going to be so snowy
it's apricot jam (in the middle of the cake) :)
haha that makes sense! Jess HATES apricot flavours :P

4:16 Karlskirche and right behind it (a relatively modern building) is the Australian embassy😊
Ohhh that's cool!
The Park that you are in at 2:30 is called Auer-Welsbach Park, I used to live right at that corner near schönbrunn
Schönbrunn ist Zoo schön :)
That library was incredible!
Nice to see my home city from a tourist's view! Happy to see the areas I walk almost everyday! Winter in Vienna is awesome! I recommend you to visit countryside more to the west as well! ❤🇦🇹
Wow! Vienna looks beautiful all snowy!
Yes Vienna in the winter is so stunning 😍😍
"Hidden Gems" is really the best description for vienna. I've been living here my entire life and I still find beautiful places I didn't know about every once in a while.
There are a couple old cities around europe where this applies. You could spend months there and still find a hidden spot in areas you thought you'd know by now.
There are DOZENS of cities in Europe where this applies, especially those not so ''degraded'' by rabid modernisation. ;)
Europe is beautiful. I loved going to The Netherlands.
Where in the Netherlands did you go?
Amsterdam of course. And then I visited Scravazende(sp?) and a couple other small towns. I have family that lives there so I was able to see a few places. I’d love to go back or to live in Europe.
Go to the Vienna. It is better than Amsterdam.
you rated the sacher torte just 5/10 because actually you haven't tried the original one.
the original recipe is a family secret and also just the sacher grandmother knows it.. it is passed down just to one daughter so the tradition is kepping in tact. you could just get the original taste of a sacher torte if you would be invited to a birthdayparty of a family sachers member
cheers
Maximilian lol thats not true, i work at sacher salzburg and a lot of people know the recipe. And to be honest i think that the original one isnt that good. like tbh they're some homemade which are better
totally right.. she has no idea on the matter.. is a fact.

I don like too touristy places^^
Now I really like ur vid style, very natural in front of the cam - keep the vids coming!
On major attractions in Vienna u have missed: Belvedere, State Opera, Parliament, Hundertwasserhouse, Prater (Ferrys Wheel), modern Vienna (Danube Tower), Heurigen.
Thanks for all your advice!!
Yeah, love Oberlaa cafe and their thermal spa which is not far from Vienna city Center

Sacher torte. 34 separate handmade steps. Perfect score: 5/10 Would meh again.
Flying the Nest in Vienna: Perfect 10/10 would watch again...and again...more coffee...and watch again.
😂😂😂
How is the weather in March? Is it snowing?
Unser schönes Österreich 🤗🤗
Willkommen hahah
Ja 🥰🥰
Where you also at the Staatsoper?
January and February are by far the worst months to visit Vienna. Have you guys ever been back since then?
So the church you saw was actually the Karlskirche (or St. Charles Church). At the Cafe Sacher the fruity Jam in the middle is apricot (not orange) :)
I also love love love (Lujublijana, Slovenia) and Vienna Austria been to those places a couplenof times too and there are some amazing places to visit great suggestions from people on going to Salzburg as there is so much to see! The castle there is amazing too!
I was hoping you would go to Salzburg! Woohoo roll on the next vlog
Wooo excited for you guys to watch the next video 😊😊
I actually live in Vienna and the Sachertorte is the original chocolate cake and it was created 1832 and the part you tought was orange is apricot Marmelade :)
Absolut Recht, die Sachertorte schmeckt in der Tat ziemlich lecker, bist du du einer Meinung? :)
hey guys.. sorry if i missed it... were you guys travelling on jan/feb (just judging on the upload date)? thanks everyonee
Who uses umbrellas when it´s snowing? That did look just completely wrong.
this is where I will stay someday a magical vibe about this place which doesn't exist anywhere else As if there's still a need for music to be created here demanded from voices of the past and well understood and interpreted
You guys are so cute!

I am living in Vienna (I’m Austrian) and I think it was almost midnight and I was walking with my dad and brother near St.Pauls Cathredral and Suddenly a guy in a pink bunny costume was running around and randomly talking to some people he almost came up to us!

Oh, now I want a Sachertorte :D
🤣🤣 sorry!
I love your vorg your fan form London 🇬🇧
Sachertorte is so sweet for me too.. It's with apricot jam.. Still love vienna though...
i agree, it is way too sweet.
Sachertorte is made with apricote jam under the chocolate :)
It tastes so good, jeder muss es mal gekostet haben :)
The Sachertorte has a layer of apricot jam underneath the top layer of chocolate. No orange in it.
Ohhh that explains a lot... Jess hates apricot flavours
Sacher Torte is made with apricot jam
I’m going to Hungary and Austria in January, if anyone has any must-do things, please tell me!!! :)
How was your trip in Austria? Unfortunately there was no snow this time. btw I live in Austria, so you can ask me some questions if you like :)
About the Sacher Torte,
They think a lot of themselves and also market and price this Cake like it's the holy grail.
Have fun visiting, and have a nice Melange!
that was jelly in the sacher torte
I hope you know that the song you played in the library was french
The next time tou have to go to a "Heurigen" and visit places on the donau, eat "kaiserschmarn " and " Sacher Torte", drive "Fiaka". :)
Kaiserschmarren und Sachertorte sind sehr lecker hahah
Go do the Sound of Music tour, hike
I would love to take my son. In Salzburg what was the name of the palace you had breakfast in?
Salzburg is a very beautiful city in Austria, I. made a vlog there too :)
It’s so interesting seeing you guys exploring Vienna and loving the big buildings and finding everything so beautiful...as like for me I see that everyday and find it normal 😂 and 5/10 for Sachertorte is too low 😂😂😍😍

APFELSTRUDEL! DAMNIT! I hate Sachertorte too and I am from Vienna! A Coffee and an Apfelstrudel! Or what about Kaiserschmarren?
When you Go to Salzburg Go to Carpe Diem its a fingerfood Restaurant and its so nice i Love it everytime When i Go there
Carpe Diem: Nutze deinen Tag!
Soooo, I guess no St. Stephen's Cathedral...? Or not blogable...?
Really liked the "The day doesn't begin until the coffee's in"...! Words to live by... :)
We ran out of time buttttt would love to come again in the summer and explore the cathedral, the palace Gardens and some museums
I’ve heard good things about Innsbruck. But you seem to be traveling in the other direction. Very interested in the Vienna to Budapest train adventure. Ich kann das schild lesen... “reisebüro”. 😎🚞
I’m wondering how a trip to Austria would be after studying more German language?
I am sure any trip after you have learnt a language would be incredible! I wish I did a language tour during high school!
Forget Starbucks in Vienna because the Austrians make the best coffee and pastries. The pastries melt in one's mouth.
I am an Australian Citizen like you guys, were you required to have a SCHENGEN VISA to visit Europe? I want to visit Europe for 1.5 months only. Please reply asap.
According to my information, you do not need a schengen visa if you are holding an australian passport.
Going myself in Feb, wondering what kind of shoes/boot you guys took/wore, seeing as though its snowing and cold. Not too sure what to buy as i have never done Europe in winter before.

Lagerfeld did his fashion show at Schloss Leopoldskron, its near "my hood" ;-)
You like in a beautiful "hood" 🤣🤣
If you go to the station and book a ticket directly from Vienna to Salzburg then do you need to fill that form?? What was the need of the form
I don't think that you need to fill a form. You simply have to buy a ticket and thats it :)
The Restaurant looks like "Figlmüller", but you can get Wiener Schnitzel and fried cheese in the most taverns in Vienna ;)
Welcome to Vienna, enjoy!
How is the weather in May in Austria? And the temperature is ?
Very warm but pleasant, you definitely have to visit Austria. If you have more questions you can ask me here or you can check out my youtube channel. There I upload tons of vlogs about Austria :)
