My mortgage payment stays the same year after year because I have separated my homeowner insurance and tax payments from my mortgage payment. You do need to be more disciplined because you have to make sure you save for the lump payments but in the long term, you pay less by doing it this way. My dad is the one who taught me this.
RE: Pop the Trunk - Escrow isn't required to be handled by the mortgage company always. The homeowner can handle their payments directly with the insurance company and tax entity. They are still subject to increases, but the homeowner can see the amounts separate from the mortgage.

Not too much on Homeownership. I’ve been in my house 7+ years, my mortgage,even with the shortages sometimes, has NEVER been more than $950. NOTHING has broken in these 7+ years, so it’s logical to me. What isn’t is paying upwards of $2,000 dollars to rent JUST IN CASE something breaks someone will come fix it. Paying $2,000 a month for 7 + years JUST IN CASE, is a “No” for me. Have you heard billionaires suggest we just rent instead? 🤔 And for people who be like “they always saying, “buy a house” they who? ALL the banter I hear about homeownership on the internet is negative. And goes STRAIGHT to “something breaking” how about we don’t buy a raggedy house?! They out here renting apartments in buildings older than my mama for $2,000 a month. Of course they have maintenance, they need it, that building been being beat down since the 60s😒 And, I live in Florida, my power doesn’t even knock out during Hurricanes…💁🏾♀️
