Thanks for sticking up for our players Brian. And laying it out as only an engineer could. Mucho respect to you Sir.
    Go Hawks

The guy is also only 21 this season. Verse, Fiske were, 23, 24. If Fiske and Murphy were rookies 2 years ago, I doubt they have the seasons they had this year

I didn’t know that. Great point.

Good point, and they were able to be starters all season.

Great video! You gotta check out Demetrius Knight from South Carolina (if you haven’t already). One of my favorite players in this class and probably a fringe first rounder for me.

To me the MVP pick was just weird. Lamar had 300 more passing yards, 13 more passing TDs, 2 less interceptions, 400 more rushing yards, and 8 less rushing TDs. The only stat that shows Allen being even close to the same level as Lamar is rushing TDs. It’s not like Lamar was throwing to 3 all pros either, his WR1 is Zay flowers. Lamar put up one of the most dominant seasons we have ever seen in the NFL. 41 TDs to 4 interceptions is almost unheard of. Josh Allen was great and he’s probably my favorite non Seahawk in the league but his play was a full tier or two below Lamar’s this year and it was a robbery.

Couple of things to add: DL generally take a few years to mature physically for the position; it seemed to me that BM faced a lot of double teams which showed respect; lastly Mac wants his guys to do their job and not seek stats; pple are sheep trend followers when Hawks have the #1 D watch them jump on the BM train.

As long as LW is playing 3T, then Murphy is somewhat redundant. There is no question that Verse compliments LW better, simply because of the position he plays. I agree that Murphy is going to be good, though. Probably never be a high sack total guy, but will still be an impact player.

I don’t view missing on the pick as “they picked a bad player” but if Washington had drafted Jayden Daniel’s to play RB then they would have missed on that pick.

Best mock draft yet. And similar to most of the ones i do. I usually snag a te in the 3rd

You asked, “why was Hankins in on so many pass rush snaps?” I guess that’s because they threw the ball when we thought they’d run. Seems simple enough. That is unless there’s a specific down and distance that qualifies a “pass rush snap”?

I agree. He was awesome as a rookie. I live on Long Island since 2010 and have watched every jets game. Murphy is like Quinnen Williams his first couple years. In 2026 expect fringe all-pro play from Murphy.
It just takes a couple years to develop as a DT. But he’s got the traits Williams had. I see it clear as day.

Problem with the MVP results is that the same people who vote all pro teams are the same voting for the MVP, How you vote Lamar First Team over Josh Allen but give Josh Allen the MVP award over Lamar

I'd really like to see coach Mike put Murphy anywhere on the line but NT he's not a NT.

The thing people NEVER seem to realize is that just because someone does well in a location, doesnt mean they'll do the same here... No way in hell does J. CARTER play that well in SEA. He's got 4 former college teammates that are babysitting him.
People that truly understand Murphy's game know he wasnt going to be a massive stat guy. He was a guy that would make others around him better. More of the consistent, but unsung hero types. I think they'll get him more featured (as Brian talked about yesterday that the edges arent featured like interior pressure is).

Aaron Donald says Jalen Carter is HIM. What you say doesn't quite carry the same weight. I would pay to watch you ask the Breadman who his babysitter is...

He's already great. Double team or not he can't be moved off the line. What more can you ask for from that position.

His TPS win rate can’t be a small sample because he was #1 in the country his final year of college at pass rush win rate, and 2nd in TPS

Seahawks need to sign Calais Campbell. He has history with McDonald and the d-line would be complete. Need an edge guy though.

Brian, I think you are overlooking the fact that because Byron had limited snaps, they were able to keep him fresher. I wouldn’t be surprised if he “regressed” a little because he’s on the field longer (if he gets on the field more) The second thing is that maybe his health limited some of his snaps.

That’s not how it worked in his high school or college career. Not sure why a young player would regress

I love how everybody shows a handful of highlights (the only ones) of Byron Murphy against the worst lines in the league and nobody wants to show the half dozen or so games where he was non existent. And then there is the Buffalo game. He is tossed back 5 yards by their guard on every play. They didn't even bother having to double team the guy. I think he's going to be an average player unless he somehow gets bigger and stronger. Quickness for an interior lineman does you no good when you are trucked on every play by the top 10 guards.

Nothing you’re saying is wrong but I still can’t shake the thought that we could of had Jalen carter and Jared verse. I don’t think Murphy or Witherspoon are bad player but verse and carter would be so much more impactful

What are you talking about he does WAY more then what “stats” prove if you watch the games he’s literally unlovable 1v1 and he’s only 21 he’s going against GROWN ASS MEN🤣💀
