confidence is such a weird thing. I think it really depends on how you grew up. my grandma and aunts were always gassing me and my sister up, and i really do believe that is what has made me so confident in my looks and personality. your younger years are so impressionable, and i think that's why it hits for some people and doesn't for others. i know there are prettier people out there, but i can confidently say that's ok because the opinions of the people i surround myself with matter most. (so if someone around you is always bringing you down, maybe limit time with them if possible.) nobody deserves to be around people who make you feel bad for being you 💜

I just needed to chime in that I'm 37 and I'm not sure about the "feeling confident about yourself" will ever hit. I mean, it may for some people but for others, it's still an ongoing learning process. But I feel like I've grown and matured a lot in my 30s. I know the person I am, isn't the same person as in my teens & 20s. And it can only go up from here. I know I will always have my doubts & insecurities, feeling like I don't love myself plus a myriad of other things. The list goes on. Just so long as you're doing the things you want to do and living life to the best of your abilities, learning & growing along the way--is more than enough. Don't tie yourself to society's expectations of who you are and what you should be. Live your life as YOU. In short, just don't give two sh*** about what others say. It's hard, I know. But that's life. Life is hard and we gotta live it, make the most of it. 😊
Honestly gurl I struggle with low self esteem too. Even though I'm just in my mid twenties, my hair started shedding insanely that I know whenever I tie it up, people can see my bald spots. I struggle with eczema on my face, neck and body ever since I was a kid and it still flares up like crazy now! I get scared going outside people I know people will look even though it's out of my control😢 it's definitely hard but I just try to do little things that make me feel happier on a daily basis 😊

I'm one of your silent viewer but this video spoke to me and I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the confidence part. I was quite a serious kid, mature teenager up until now (I'm in my thirties), but I do think confidence is constantly changing, evolving thought based on the seasons that one could be. There are moments you go through that shatters your perception of who you are and in today's social media world, comparison of beauty/lifestyle can really impact one's mental health but I think one has to work on how they feel on a daily basis. For example, I'm not particular confident on the dating world (dating apps) and I'm trying my best to work on that as I've been single for years now thus I have days where it gets to me and my level of confidence is usually quite low! I totally resonate with the self esteem thing. I stopped filming videos as consistently bc I felt the need to “look” a certain way on the internet. Now that I’m in my late 20s and almost thirty I have no energy anymore to care but it’s a constantly journey of ups and downs. I just remind myself my dog loves me no matter what I look like and try to be the person she thinks I am!

So I'm 34 and something I've realized is that the "feeling confident about yourself in your 30s", well at least for me, looks more like "I don't care how I look today" than actually feeling confident. It's almost like I worried about it so much during my teens and 20s, that now I just don't have the energy to care anymore. Of course, I do take care of my body, I work out, eat healthy, etc. But it's more of a if I'm having a bad hair day, for example, I don't sweat it anymore, I just throw a hat on and go on with my day. And while I still get insecure some days, the "I don't really care" ones have become more and more the older I get. I share this because I think the being confident feeling for some can be more of an "I'm ok with how I look" and not so much an "I absolutely love how I look". And at least for me that makes the process a little easier and the goal of being comfortable with myself less stressful.

As a Northern Norwegian in the Arctic; heat tech and fleece will not really keep you warm. Especially when you sweat. We wear thin merino wool layers under our normal clothes and it both keeps you warm and cool. 😊 Fleece is mainly plastic.
also I think with the transition of coming into your thirties is like a self awakening to who you are as a person. I'm turning thirty in January and I can say I do feel a change into who I am as a person and what my likes/dislikes are, life is always evolving and inspiring on being the truest self. hope you tackle it one day at a time hun, it will be amazing when you get there ❤🥰

It’s interesting how a parasocial relationships will sneak up on you because I understand that at the end of the day I don’t truly know Sophia but I’ve watched her content since high school (I’m now 28). Her evolution is beautiful and it truly reflects in her content but I struggle sometimes with wanting the old Sophia content back, perhaps it’s cause I am struggling to be okay with change in my personal life, I look to some of my favorite TH-camrs as a escapism route that remains constant but they’re humans with growing lives too and it should be embraced. I did check her channel for some of her older vlogs but she took them down ☹️ Her makeup went from being bold with colorful eye makeup (shoutout to the MAC days) to more emphasis on a settle clean girl look. Her fashion style went from trendy with bold accessories to neutral, loose fitting, mature looks. Her lifestyle went from the hustle and bustle of downtown to the slow pace of the suburbain Cali life, a consistant fitness routine and mom of two dogs. It’s even reflected in the music…. I can practically here the “oonce -oonce” up-beat pounding to the intro of her older vlogs with songs like “I’m gonna get you”, “sweet love”, and “you got the love” remixes, now evolved into jazz instrumentals and melodic lo-fi songs. The change is beautiful because it shows that Sophia is fine tuning herself and becoming more of the individual that reflects her in her 30s. We all change in life after all. But sometimes this chapter of her comes of elusive, like I don’t really see the giggly, silly side (except when fam is around) and I feel she doesn’t talk with the audience as much, except for something leading into an ad. I’m all for the ads and evolution, and even understand and respect the privacy of your partner, I just….idk I just feel like Sophia is a bit more distant from the audience these days but it could just be me and I acknowledge it, hence my into comment about parasocial relations. Either way, for what it’s worth, the video quality has always remained top tier and for that I’m always appreciative. I guess I would just also like to hold space for her older content.

It’s interesting how a parasocial relationships will sneak up on you because I understand that at the end of the day I don’t truly know Sophia but I’ve watched her content since high school (I’m now 28). Her evolution is beautiful and it truly reflects in her content but I struggle sometimes with wanting the old Sophia content back, perhaps it’s cause I am struggling to be okay with change in my personal life, I look to some of my favorite TH-camrs as a escapism route that remains constant but they’re humans with growing lives too and it should be embraced. I did check her channel for some of her older vlogs but she took them down ☹️
Her makeup went from being bold with colorful eye makeup (shoutout to the MAC days) to more emphasis on a settle clean girl look. Her fashion style went from trendy with bold accessories to neutral, loose fitting, mature looks. Her lifestyle went from the hustle and bustle of downtown to the slow pace of the suburbain Cali life, a consistant fitness routine and mom of two dogs. It’s even reflected in the music…. I can practically here the “oonce -oonce” up-beat pounding to the intro of her older vlogs with songs like “I’m gonna get you”, “sweet love”, and “you got the love” remixes, now evolved into jazz instrumentals and melodic lo-fi songs.
The change is beautiful because it shows that Sophia is fine tuning herself and becoming more of the individual that reflects her in her 30s. We all change in life after all. But sometimes this chapter of her comes of elusive, like I don’t really see the giggly, silly side (except when fam is around) and I feel she doesn’t talk with the audience as much, except for something leading into an ad.
I’m all for the ads and evolution, and even understand and respect the privacy of your partner, I just….idk I just feel like Sophia is a bit more distant from the audience these days but it could just be me and I acknowledge it, hence my into comment about parasocial relations.
Either way, for what it’s worth, the video quality has always remained top tier and for that I’m always appreciative. I guess I would just also like to hold space for her older content.
